New 512MB 8800 GTS Pictured

After the success of the 8800 GT, rumours of a new 8800 GTS based on the G92 core have been on the net for a few weeks now. Now some pictures have been leaked onto the internet, along with some extra specs. It was already known to feature 128 enabled stream processors, and the latest specs claim that the new card will also have a 650MHz core clock speed, shaders at 1625MHz, 512MB memory at 1940MHz and will be nine inches long. Its official release date is said to be December 3rd, with a price tag somewhere between $299 and $349.

So will this replace the GTS and the GTX?! Otherwise I can't see the point of it.

(I imagine it would perform nigh on identically to the GTX given how well the GT performs)

i think it is pretty obvious the current GTX cards from December 3rd will no longer be the cards to beat, by the way does anyone know what size bus these cards feature?

Should be a 256-bit memory bus if that's still reliable.

My guess is that the 256-bit bus is probably accurate, judging by the 512MB of memory on the card.

May I'll hold off on getting a GT...

I wonder how much faster this is compared to the 8800GT?

I would assume it would perform similarly to the 8800GTX, hence my confusion on the point of its launch (unless the 8800GTX will cease to be produced)

Should be at least on par with the GTX I think, and might give the Ultra a run for its money.

Care to provide any evidence for this? I'm not saying it's wrong, but it's a very subjective statement if you can't back it up.

Boy that's one ugly cooler xD But 8800GT will do for me (or 3870). Seems like it would be best to wait for these to come in market and drop 8800GT prices though. (if they drop so close to x-mas)

Why do it if they already got 640 and 320?

Errr, with those kind of specs, it would out do an Ultra, except maybe at higher resolutions and at that price, yummy.

I have a feeling this wont be compatible with previous 8800gts water-cooling blocks?

If the price is right I may pick myself up 2 of these instead of the 8800GT's

Shame that it doesn't support Tri-SLI.

It makes you think that the Tri-SLI (for now) will be the only reason for people to keep or buy GTX/Ultras.

Shouldn't this kinda thing be up on Nvidia's website under some sort of marketing or promotional page?

Like as if to say 'yes we are going to sell them, no bullshit!'
