Step in the right direction, Nvidias low/mid range has been missing for quite some time. Lets cross our fingers that the card delivers in actual games too.

Good performance, I hope they price it around $159~$189, nothing more.

Man, this is getting insulting. Pretty soon my "top end" 2900 will be considered mid range. Nice for a midrange card though.

Nice scores indeed, about same/a bit less than for a ATI HD3850 it seems. Then again, 3DMark06 doesn't tell the absolute truth so we'll see... :p

yeah not nice for 4 rops, but damn, it does decent, especially compared to the 8800GT. Im thinking of either an HD3870, or I might get 2 HD3850s for Xfire.

I thought the same thing, and I know nobody likes hearing this, but I would purcahse the 3870 with the intention of adding a second. By getting two 3850s you have capped out there. I am really happy with my 3870, especially now watercooled, temps are great and performance is specatular for the price. I guarantee youd be happy. When the games start to emerge this year I will add a second 3870 and be more happy!

The 2900 sells for mid-range prices now.

v-zero4 ROPs? Not nice...
could just be not detecting it right as the shaders aren't detected at all. I'd imagine the card actually has 12 rop's.

Hope so, but I think it's 8...
