Intel X48 Shipping This Week

Although Intel has not yet officially announced its high-end X48 chipset, some first-tier motherboard makers started shipping boards in small volumes a few days ago, DigiTime reports. The report claims that both ASUSTeK Computer and GIGABYTE Technology have already started shipping their motherboards, and wide product availability is expected for this week. Manufacturers like MSI and DFI will follow soon.

No, the goodass. It's supposed to be the evolved P35 (+ FSB 1600 + PCI-E 2.0...etc.) At least P35 to P45 seems to be a better evolution than X38 to X48. The differences still confuse me.

Don't know what I'm missing out on. I grabbed myself an X38 already 5 months ago.

I hope the x48 isn't THAT much better than its predecessor. I'll wait for pricing and benchmarks to see whether or not its worth upgrading.

those of you running x38s need not worry the x48s are just hand picked x38 chips picked for there slightly better overclocking prowess, other than that they are the same.
