Xbox 360 Games Could run off the Hard-drive
Soon, you will be able to slash load-times of Xbox 360 games by a nifty feature update that allows the console to cache the game on to the hard drive. You will need the game disc in the drive to be able to play the game as a counter-piracy measure, just that the console won't read resources from the disc, but instead from the cached data on the hard drive. In a way this also means improved sales for the new 60GB variant, since hard-drive space is 'more-the-merrier' now on, you can cache as many games as your hard drive can take. This was announced by Microsoft during a press-conference at E3.

Faster load times and less noise due to no disk usage. Basically its choice not mandatory.
Some games require the hard drive like football manager series and oblivion.
There are other features being added like A WHOLE NEW DASHBOARD no more blades a whole new layout and style, also you get a 3D avatar character for your gamertag, streaming movies from some website, also as far as i know you can do a live party and all play the same games ect, there is a source on the engadget page if you go into that it tells you all.
I didnt know that using engadget as a source was allowed? isnt it a rival tech website?
I sent in my own news using the xbox press release site as a source but i guess they already got onto it.
I shure did with the xbox1.

i stream all my video to my xbox 360 as it accepts divx and xvid via the last update

Vista is spreading it's influence like a plague, I can take that, but all that bullsh** gay look is just too much! We are not kids, damn it! The kids who like this stuff can't even afford to buy an Xbox on their own, and if their parents buy them the Xbox it's likely they'll play childish, retarded games! Those users are by no means serious gamers. So, this shows that M$ is trying to make happy people who think like this: "Ooo shiny! Me like! Me buy!" That is why I'm so pissed off, and that is why I feel like M$ said to us "F*** you! We just want to take people's money and we don't give a s**t about our customers as long as they are keeping our pockets full of money"! End of quote. (I'm quoting myself :D ...)
Long story made short - what I'm trying to say on this unusually long post for me is that M$ is trying to treat us like RETARDS! And quite honestly, the fact is that, after all I'M PAYING THEM MONEY! And now I feel f**ked and betrayed by M$, this just offends me and is making me very angry.
EDIT: Forgot to answer your question: as much as I understand this bullsh** idea that M$ came up with is: to play LIVE you have to have the latest updates... So, it's not optional, now your X360 HAS to look gay to use it's full potential. And I really doubt that there will be an option to use the old "blade" system. Now, because of this X360 pretty much is = Good games/GAY LOOKS. I just had a feeling that something isn't right here, a great console from M$. Well, they did as expected, they f**ked up, big time!
But still gay people defo. I hope MS reads stuff like this and decides to make the 3d avatars optional. When I first read it and thought of 3D avatars, I was thinking literally that, not stupid cartoon people! Now maybe if they sweetened the deal by adding game characters for avatars. Then it would be cool.

Oh, and where is the Xbox360's Blu-Ray support? User replaceable hard drive? Non-Crap controllers? The ability to use any Bluetooth heatset I want, and not be forced to use Microsofts?
In terms of the content, MS either need to give us a refund on our points, or give us free upgrades to new themes and 3d character avatars, if they listen and do that.
If you are listening MS, please do 3d game characters for avatars!!!!

blu ray it is useless, i dont want to upgrade my extensive collection of dvds to blu ray HELL I DONT EVEN OWN A HD TV!@?*
sure ive explained this a zillion times to other people im not going to explain why xbox hard drives are not user replaceable and why they dont allow blue tooth headsets
INFACT see the xbox 1 you could replace the drive on it as well but that meant you could put boot loaders and linux on it and play pirate xbox 1 games and do all sorts of illegal stuff Microsoft didnt want you to do
you know what im fed up! keep your crappy ports that run at horrible frame rates and keep your metal gear solid 4 because if a console (it is designed as a console first and foremost) has only i exclusive and one decent game OUT NOW then its a waste of money
it basically tries to be a pc BUT FAILS, it has mouse and keyboard support, allows to change the hardware to a certain extent, you can run linux on it, it has media functions like a pc, it has a zillion other things a pc can do better
i want a console for console games not to surf the internet on my crappy tv
i actually prefer the xbox 360 pads very comfortable and has grip and HAS PROPER TRIGGERS unlike the ps3 pads r2 and l2
ps2 pads i had just broke after a year actually started to come apart and the analoughe nad R1 and L1 buttons becaame wobbly
so i take it since the ps3 pads the same its like that TOO
also the ps3 pad has no weight
HOW THE HELL CAN RUMBLE WORK IF ITS GOT MOTION OR TILT OR WHATEVER CONTROLS
i mean wouldn't the rumble make you car or whatever move about and simple turning it off just for it to rumble dosnt work either because if your titling the pad it suddenly turns off for a second to rumble you might loose control having to quickly move to using the analogues
