SP2 RC is awesome...NOT. Since I installed it I've noticed my external is getting raped! Whenever I go to grab something or run something from the external it feels like I have Vista, Norton, and Spysweeper running at the sametime with 512MB of ram cause it just takes forever to run or wait for the folder to open up. I tested the HD and it passes DLGDiag 5.04 and this is a SATAII enclosure using the SATA cable.

Yeah, my whole install was taken out by SP2 as well. I'd uninstalled a previous version but it never recovered.

However, after a fresh install and a copy of the latest SP2 build (16670) I must say I'm impressed. Really stable, games play excellently. Not had a single crash or problem yet.

You had to do a fresh install after SP2 (just like me too) and you still dared to install SP2 on that new install? Brave man, I won't touch SP2 with a fifty foot pole until it's stable.

I don't use final releases if I can help it. I've been beta testing for a good number of years now and I've found that with most Microsoft releases there betas are actually more stable than their final releases :D

So years later, turns out that Vista totally sucked.
Service Pack 2 was the last service pack for it to be released and support was minimal after that.
Windows 7 was, what Vista should have been.
