Premium maker EVGA is now offering a shiny new water block for its Intel X58 powered motherboards. The EVGA X58 Hydro Copper Waterblock, part number: 200-CU-HC58-B1 guarantees to drop the temps of your chipset by half and also make your motherboard look very cool. The water block includes both 1/2" and 3/8" fittings for maximum compatibility with all water cooling systems. EVGA is asking $129.99 USD for the part. Find more info here.

It normally doesn't void warranty to change the cooling on the motherboard, as long as you keep the stock cooling and can change if needed.

well EVGA might offer services to fit it for us and make sure that wont void our warranty... but I'd rather fit it myself... cheaper and faster

Cheap?... You know you're talking about an expensive mainboard... and not to mention, an over-expensive water block. Usually, EK chipset water blocks don't cost more than 50 eu.

But the "fast" argument is good...

I'm guessing this is going to have really bad flow restriction, the channels have to be super small in that thin section between the north and southbridge.

I can't speak for thi new block, but most of the resent releases from bitspower, bo fe, koolance an Ek have been rater good. I think most have worked out the flow rate issues, but you never know with a board manufacturer coming out with watercooling products...

Regardless of flow restrictions it will help drop temps. Most NB temps are extremely high and the cooler on the Evga is very flimsy and almost toy like. I popped it off yesterday and found the thermal paste adequately applied but the NB heatsink is a joke. It might have been a cheap Cracker Jack toy with a 20mm fan on it. :S
Either way this would be an awesome addon that I may consider for future loop upgrades.
