The Intel Atom x7835RE is a mobile processor with 8 cores, launched in April 2024, at an MSRP of $127. It is part of the Atom lineup, using the Gracemont architecture with BGA 1264. Atom x7835RE has 6 MB of L3 cache and operates at 1300 MHz by default, but can boost up to 3.6 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is making the Atom x7835RE on a 10 nm production node, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Atom x7835RE, which limits its overclocking potential.
With a TDP of 12 W, the Atom x7835RE consumes very little energy. Intel's processor supports DDR4 and DDR5 memory with a single-channel interface. The highest officially supported memory speed is 4800 MT/s, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. For communication with other components in the machine, Atom x7835RE uses a PCI-Express Gen 3 connection. This processor features the UHD Graphics 32EU integrated graphics solution.
Hardware virtualization is available on the Atom x7835RE, which greatly improves virtual machine performance. Additionally, IOMMU virtualization (PCI passthrough) is supported, so that guest virtual machines may directly use host hardware. Programs using Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) can run on this processor, boosting performance for calculation-heavy applications. Besides AVX, Intel is including the newer AVX2 standard, too, but not AVX-512.
