The Intel Pentium G640T is a desktop processor with 2 cores, launched in June 2012. It is part of the Pentium lineup, using the Sandy Bridge architecture with Socket 1155. Pentium G640T has 3 MB of L3 cache and operates at 2.4 GHz. Intel is building the Pentium G640T on a 32 nm production process using 504 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Pentium G640T, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 35 W, the Pentium G640T consumes only little energy. Intel's processor supports DDR3 memory with a dual-channel interface. For communication with other components in the system, Pentium G640T uses a PCI-Express Gen 3 connection. This processor features the Intel HD (Sandy Bridge) integrated graphics solution. Hardware virtualization is available on the Pentium G640T, which greatly improves virtual machine performance. Programs using Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) will run on this processor, boosting performance for calculation-heavy applications.
