It's the Install.cmd script you find in the DSLIA folder.
You have to edit it, replacing the occurrences of nv_dispi.inf_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx with the actual path used by your driver installation.

Sorry, can't read a thing in that picture; the resolution is way too low.

You need to have basic knowledge in navigating the file system and editing files to be successful in this installation.
Maybe you know somebody that could help you with this...

Anyways, regarding your botched installation, you can always DDU uninstall this driver installation and reinstall nVidia drivers, so no harm done to your system.

Looks better now...

Your install.cmd still tries to copy into %SystemRoot%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_7209bde3180ef5f7\ instead of your actual driver location. You have to open install.cmd (right-click -> Edit) and change all 3 occurrences of nv_dispi.inf_amd64_7209bde3180ef5f7 to the actual driver location. It's just about changing these 3 short strings...

I made a short video how to do that for you. Hope this helps.

Disabling Driver Signature Enforcement has to be done every time at boot.
That's why you usually do test-signing:
  • Set UAC to the lowest setting in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Security and Maintenance
  • Run cmd.exe as admin and enter:
bcdedit.exe /set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe /set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS ON
bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING ON

This method is persistent but has the disadvantage of not being accepted by anti-cheat software of multiplayer games.

Version 1.7.1 works on 388.71. Seems like any later driver will not get patched.

DifferentSLIAuto only unlocks the already present SLI support of the driver for hardware setups that would otherwise be blocked.
Thus regarding SLI support of games, you need to consult the respective game forums.

This sounds interesting. I seem to remember that some company came up with a bridge chip to make AMD & NVIDIA cards work together too and some mobos were released with it. Nothing seems to have come of it though, possibly because of licensing issues. What a shame.

Still, it proves that cards can be totally dissimilar and still work together just fine.

I think you're talking about LucidLogix and their Hydra Engine...?

Why? Because the creators are not supporting it anymore? :(
Possibly because the thread is over 6 years old and the OP visits infrequently. I don't think he has even posted here for a very long time.

Actually I meant that the current 1.7.1. patcher will not patch any driver newer than 388.71
But yes, the original creator has left the building and the project is at the mercy of other volunteers, like JamesZzzz

I think you're talking about LucidLogix and their Hydra Engine...?
DX12 multiGPU in theory should be able to deliver similar results.

I have a pair of EVGA GTX 970s, an ACX 1.0 & an ACX+ FTW+, and I have followed the guide. Everything says it succeeded but the nvidia control panel is still telling me my SLI bridge is not installed. Are some of these EVGA 970s just never going to play together?
I used ver. 1.7.1, driver 388.77. I'm running an 04G-P4-3978-RX (B-stock) & 04G-P4-2976-KR, Windows 10 latest update.
FX-8320, Asus Sabertooth 990FX r.2.0, CS750M psu.

First, happy to see somebody post their system specs firsthand when asking a question.
Should be common sense, but unfortunately this is a minority...

I take it from your SLI capable MoBo that you didn't have success in SLIing your 970s the normal way and had to resort to DSLIA to bypass nVidia's checks. Now that message about not having a bridge installed is quite common, even when a bridge is present.
I suspect it has to do with cards using different types/manufacturers of VRAM, even in the same card model.

I'd recommend to use a monitor program like nvidiaInspector and watch the bus load, on a second monitor if you have it.
If the bridge works properly, you see little bus load and GPU load should be evenly balanced among both cards.
In case of a non-functioning bridge, bus load will spike, depending on the application. If one of the PCIe slots is slower than the other (not the case with your MoBo, if you use the correct slots), this might also lead to asymmetrical load balance in this case.
It's a thing to keep an eye on over a couple of days...

Talking about PCIe bus: To keep bus load low, it's important to connect all monitors to the same card, if possible. Shared display space over different cards creates a significant bus load, even if it's only your desktop!

The problem I have is EVGA GTX 970 video cards. They created 3 different series of 970 cards & I have a gen 2 & a gen 3. I didn't know this until I decided to set up SLI & try some gaming & benching. I am usually just running Folding@Home & SLI needs to be disabled for both cards to fold properly. For some reason the EVGA 970's of different generations won't work together in SLI & I was hoping to find a way around their trickery. lol :) It looks like they are making it really hard to do.

I haven't been around here in a while, but I have learned on other forums that the more info I provide the better chance I have at finding a solution.
