Hi,
I would activate SLI on a Jungtimer PC. It´s a Asus Commando Board with Intel P965 Chipset. It´s run under WinXP 32Bit and with two Geforce 7950GT.
Which programm is better - HyperSLI or Different SLI? Which Version? Where can I download it?
Greetings from Germany

Wow, cool...! :rockout:

Problem is your Win XP 32 Bit.
AFAIK there's no version of DSLIA which would patch any 32 bit version of the driver.
You need one of the x64 versions mentioned on the very first post of this thread for Windows Vista or 7

Has anyone found a way to either run this without test signing mode or somehow play BattleEye-enabled games with test signing enabled? I'm finding more and more games use this crap software that I'm sure doesn't defend against real cheaters, and it doesn't allow test signing mode active.

I found an article from a while back where a guy had paid for his own CA account and re-signed the driver himself, but I haven't been able to find a way to get that to work in Windows 10 as it seems video drivers will only be considered to have valid signatures if obtained from the WHCK portal with Windows 10. So I can either not play games like Rainbow Six Siege, cut my performance in half (while constantly re-installing the driver and toggling test mode), or buy a new motherboard :( Would really like a way around this.

Here is the article I referenced, btw...I'm not very knowledgeable about code signing but I tried messing around with command line signing tools to create my own certificate to sign the nvlddmkm.sys...but if I do it in any way that is self-signed and then disable test signing, Windows thinks the driver file is corrupt and won't load it, even though otherwise it says the signature is fine.

Thanks P!nkPanther. I did see that but hoped there was some new learning on it. After all, if it would cause other driver components to refuse to load, though, how did it load for the guy in the referenced link?

I am not knowledgeable about signing technicality, as mentioned, but in my day job I deal with some of the aspects that might be considered legal...as long as you don't modify for someone else and only modify the code on your personal system, I don't believe there are any (at least enforceable) legal issues.

Not if you don't tell us anything about what your setup is and what were your results in trying to install DSLIA.

You need to watch for error messages during the procedure.
Any errors during driver patching?
Any errors during install?

Latest driver known to work with DSLIA 1.7.1 is 388.71.
Use that one and the driver patching should be successful.

Apologies if this has been discussed earlier in the thread and I missed it, but could someone point me to information on what exactly DSLIA patches in the driver file to allow SLI on "unsupported" configurations? Is this available publicly somewhere?

AFAIK all this patch does is skipping the SLI certificate check of the mobo as well as the model number check of the GPUs. The rest of the driver is not modified at all. The ability to SLI different GPUs of the same architecture has always been functional within the driver. But by limiting the possible combinations only to the most failsafe setups, it seems that nVidia wanted to spare themselves the support nightmare.

Thanks! Are there details about what it looks for to find each of the various checks? I'm guessing since it can't find patch locations sometimes with new drivers (like the one just released) it must be looking in specific offsets instead of dynamically? I ask because I'm trying to refresh my coding skills (haven't programmed in many years) and thought playing around with this might be an interesting way to do so.

It searches the driver for various patterns and if successful, replaces these segments with the patched code.
There's a link to the source of an older version in the very first post of this thread, if you're interested in the inner workings.
