When patching you need to have an unpatched nvlddmkm.sys in the DSLIA directory. You did re-copy the unmodified nvlddmkm.sys every time you tried to patch, right?

Regarding remote assistance: You have to do the work yourself. Also it's difficult to know in which state the installation already has been left. And there's a lot of things which have to be done in Safe-mode, so no TeamViewer anyways.
I'm happy to add my knowledge, but that is as far as I'm willing to help.

:/ i dont get this doe ?

okay ive done the same thing as you but i cant put the file back into the folder

  • Copy nvlddmkm.sys in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4\ to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and replace the existing one.

that thing

This looks exactly like pressing the 'Patch!' button twice. You can't patch an already patched driver.
I'd assume that patching has succeeded and you can proceed with that nvlddmkm.sys you have there.
  • Copy nvlddmkm.sys in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4\ to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and replace the existing one.
that thing
...is not necessary if you tested the correct location of nvlddmkm.sys using the method of my earlier post. In that case my system used C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and not the usual nv_dispi.inf_amd64_xxx\ location for some unknown reason. I suspect it had to do with Windows Update messing with nVidia driver updates. A major pain in the 4$$...

Using this DSLIA patch you could make SLI work in your Crossfire mobo, if you can do the installation process successfully (which is from our experience in this forum not guaranteed at all).

But in your case I would only try this if I had the second 780 already sitting around.
I would never recommend to go out and buy a second 780 in the hope of relying on this patch.
- There is a likelihood that the installation of DSLIA fails:
- it has proven too complicated for many users
- some hardware configurations simply didn't work (GTX 970 a frequent offender)
- No guarantee of support for future nVidia drivers
- DSLIA requires test signing mode which breaks anti-cheat systems like Battleye (so no PUBG for example)

Also there's a lot of drawbacks with SLI in general:
- No SLI support for VR, if you want to go that route
- Most modern games don't support it any longer, so the benefit is mostly in older games which don't need it in the first place.
- In my experience the percentage of games where I benefitted from SLI was like 20%, which means 2x the cost for a 25% gain.

So I'd recommend you to sell the 780 and along with the money you planned for buying another 780, you're quite close to something like a 980ti, which is the best performance/price relation you can get at the moment.

Didn't test it, since I no longer use DSLIA myself. I take it from this post, that it works with '388.71-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe'
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sli-with-different-cards.158907/post-3774209

Are you using the correct version of DSLIA?
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sli-with-different-cards.158907/page-98#post-3740425

I can confirm this does work with 388.71 on my system running 2 different GTX 970s in SLI. Running on windows 10.

Was on 384 but happy this later driver works since this works better with some games. Also mines much better on ETH if you are into that.

Hoping that we get an update sooner or later so we can patch the newer drivers. this works great though. At least until i get my self a 1080 ti

Hello there,
I have two GTX 970 (04G-P4-1972-KR and 04G-P4-2978-KR). They works fine. But they don´t work in SLI mode.

However, I tried DifferentAutoSLI in many ways and many Nvidia e DifferentAutoSLI´s versions. The DifferentAutoSLI works perfectly. But When the nvlddmkm.sys file is placed in the final step on windows, it occurs conflict in the video.

The nvidia control panel stops working. The last try was in DifferentAuotSLI 1.7.1 and Driver 388.71. I use Windows 10. Now I installed version 390.65 where I also tried.

Suggestions?

Suggestions?

As stated above i am running 2 different EVGA GTX 970s in SLI using 1.7.1 on 388.71 without issue. 04G-P4-2972-KR & 04G-P4-3975-KR

This is the latest driver you can use in SLI currently. Clean out drivers and downgrade. 388.71 is not far behind 390.65 in features anyway.

BTW you don't need to have test mode running anymore. you can just restart the computer with driver signing turned off instead. This way you can play PUBG and other games that don't like test mode.

I did that. I worked on version 388.71. All works fine on file, both patc and install. But when I reboot my system, the windows crashed with that driver.

That is because the drive is not signed. Boot into safemode and hold shift while clicking restart. Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and click the Restart button. When your computer restarts you’ll see a list of options. Press F7 on your keyboard to select Disable driver signature enforcement.

if that does not do it then something may be corrupt

Device Manager → Double click your main display adapter → Tab: Driver → Driver Details
to see where the active nvlddmkm.sys is located and navigate to that file. (Either within C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\... or C:\Windows\System32\drivers\...)
Then right-click on it for its Properties -> Digital Signatures and check whether you have one certificate pointing to DifferentSLIAuto or several, still pointing to nVidia.
