OFFICIAL Cyberpunk 2077 Game Discussion

I'm kind of surprised about all the articles I see trashing the game because even on low I am mostly enjoying it.

Honestly, the fuss about ps4 and shit is nuts...it is a next gen game on last gen hardware...

And of course, it seems like I have more crashes than anyone. The mod I mentioned earlier helps a lot, but I still crash every 10-30 minutes. Playing on a single ultrawide monitor at fullscreen.

You're having the worst of luck with this game for me in 30 hours of play one hard lock up and one T pose that's it. Maybe try reinstalling the game or turning any OC's off I dunno why it's running so ratshit for you but it sucks seeing how many crashes you have

it is a next gen game on last gen hardware...

Actually it was designed to run on PS4 & XBox one and PC in the first place as it was in production for 8 years they wouldn't have known what a next gen console was going to be back then it's all the stuff they cobbled in along the way like RTX and DLSS and other stuff like that that has broken the game on last gen consoles

I wonder how many bugs are straight up display related. I can say for sure that borderless causes crashes like Ive never seen. Tried it for about an hour and got maybe 10 minutes of game. Regular fullscreen is crash free.
borderless and multiscreen is crash free on my rig ... i wonder what cause your issues (well the game ofc) ... although borderless is weird with CP2077 x) for instance other game borderless fill the whole screen if i set 1440p in them and have my desktop set at 1620p but CP2077 show it as a smaller window (but that's not a crash)

nearing 40hrs but still not a single crash or bug other than anything "entertaining" (yeah i know, weird ... "entertaining bugs" but trust me, it's a thing )

ever since i updated the video driver to the latest and patch 1.04 it's been a smooth ride (although... these driver are a smooth ride only in CP2077 ... i can count up to 6 the number of CTD in a day i had in Rebel Galaxy Outlaw today since i updated the drivers ... )

i was afraid seeing the reports and also afraid of my own rig being heavily underpowered ... but seeing how the game look on medium without RTX and DLSS not anymore.

The more I look at these skill trees, the more interesting they become.

I'm starting a katana/mantis build. Looking to answer my question about the bullet-sponge things and min-maxing. It DID work in TW3. So I'm pumping all of it into reflexes and cool. All other stats 3. Fuck it. I'll find a way around checks - first playthrough made me realize you don't need them, not even the gameplay ones. Nor do you need crafting. Tech is basically if you want tech weapons AFAIC. Maybe I'll explore that one day.. nomad build or something. Build how you want. It seems pretty forgiving of completely ignoring things. There is pretty much no specific thing that you NEED to be okay or do the things in the places. You just need to be strong in whatever you choose.

Hopefully that's not too spoilery... I don't think it really is. You can do balanced builds too, but I'm starting to think it's not favorable to this game's system. You can kinda look at the trees and see that they're all highly specialized. Each tree is multiple different builds in itself, just depending on how you plug the points in.

Won't even need body with perks in those two... also racking mantis boosts just from leveling-up reflexes. Cold Blood tree is STUPID op. I just know it. Look at them. Ignore the stealth shit. I'm not looking at that. Now go back and really read the Blades tree under reflexes. I was laughing my ass off when I started piecing them together. It almost feels exploitative but it's there in the game so...

So I'm kinda thinking katanas are probably badass with ridiculous DPS/armor while moving/movement/crit buffs that stack to stupid levels with streaks. All percentage based. So maybe I just run around really fast and fuck everything with them.

Gonna play more with the implants too. I think somewhere in all of this is Skyrim combat, but fun as fuck because the future is amazing and everyone fucks robots now.

For those who are curious, here's how the game looks and runs on my old system (which I built in late 2015).

Getting around 30-40 FPS (guess that's just my lucky number), sticking closer to the mid-to-low 30s.

Running all settings on low, 2560x1440 with scaling set to 50%, patch 1.04, driver 460.89 (which I need to test more since performance seems worse than 456.71), and version 0.10.0 of the performance overhaul mod.

Specs: i7-2600K at stock speed, 16GB DDR3-1600, GTX 780 3GB, game installed on a 1TB 7200RPM hard drive.

I've been loving the game now that ive worked out how to stream it well. :toast:

No missing frames, not one. as smooth as butter high at 1080p no RT

Just mostly? ;)

All of the fuss is deserved. If they didn't want to face the backlash over how their game runs on last gen hardware(and It's not just poor FPS, It's also a buggy mess in general), then they shouldn't had released such a game on last gen consoles and in that state... But they did.

CP2077 already looks good even in Medium preset but holy S*** it looks too good to be a game with Ultra RT

Medium preset

With this level of visual, CP2077 will remain relevant in the PC gaming for years, just as TW3 did.

I have only just finished ACT I but I enjoy the main story so far, side missions are very interesting too, haven't seen any boring fetch quest that are so ubiquitous in RPGs

Is that with a Titan V?

The side-quests are often on-par with the story. People talk about npc's and lack of interaction, which I think is understandable considering most of us have played RDR2, which kind of raised the bar there. But the side quests are where you really experience the world. Seriously recommend not zipping through the main quests. It is worth doing the extras as they come up. Even the simple gigs and radiant events are worth doing. Along the way you'll encounter interesting things, see some great story and lore stuff, and build up your character for the main event. Worth taking it slow.

Crafting is also the only way to make some iconic weapons stay relevant trough the whole game. Basic weapons works, but they aren't as fun :D (some of the iconic weapons are bordeline broken even)
Tech also give acess to some doors towards more loot or escape options. You don't need Body, inteligence and tech to finish the game, but you might get locked out of some optional stuff. Having low Int seems to sometimes make me do things the hard way for some side missions

FTFY

The consoles are a non-issue for CDPR. Extra sales and exposure. Nothing more. Their core market and audience is the PC crowd. Always has been and will be. Even TW3 sold better on PC even when it came out as a pretty decent console release.

This whole fuss about console peasants not getting 'their' game is social media outrage like we have it daily. Ignore it and move on. Their loss. Buy something new and get your game refunded. Or don't... who cares? I don't, that is for sure, and no it doesn't say much about CDPR. It says something about consoles that wanted to have it all with hardware that can just about run Wordpad. CDPR just said fine, have it, we'll make money off you.

If this money supports further PC-first game development, keep at it CDPR you have my blessing. Burn them every single time until they get a PC :) That's the little devil on my shoulder speaking tbh, and deep down I think a good part of those devs think much the same. A necessary evil.

In the world of snowflakes and normal business however, they shouldn't have ever sold it on the old consoles. Its not the moral high ground we've expected CDPR to take.

Blades is easily the best way to break the game. Add some Cyberware on top and you are a 100% crit, lifedraining samurai really. Cool is however NOT a support attri for Blades. Its support for the Monowire and takedowns, in other words, full stealth / Agent 47 style.

Support for Blades is found in Athletics so Body. I ran 18 reflex and 12 body which was great balance, it also opens up some health boosts in cyberware and since you lifedrain on counter and kill, a health pool is vital.

You mentioned ColdBlood but I dont recall seeing it work proper and its not really that OP I think because the perk investment is huge while weapon specific bonuses are generally not only higher per point, but also passive/permanent and not related to stacks. Im sure on higher diff Cold Blood could scale well in longer combat sequences.

Also: Try out Sandevistan to teplace your cyberdeck. You wont regret it. That, double jump and jump-dodge cyberwares and its a whole other game ;) What youve got in yiur head as katana playstyle... yes it works perfectly fine. You do miss out on the whole silly AI thing, heads just fly off if you even look at them funny...

Oh yeah and the melee weapon vendor in your own appartment tower has a level scaled legendary katana, should you need one. Mantis Blades however may have a different cool factor but do have higher base damage, level scale with you and a leap attack so def better than katana and even cheaper in the long run as you only need one up to level 50. Street Cred 50 gets you legendary versions.

What do you mean you need 50 Street Cred ? :D

Q reward? Or was it 32 SC
It's almost a quest reward. In the cyberpsycho quest line (phantom of night city) there's a chest "guarded" by a Tigerclaw that went crazy, if you are fast enough you can grab them before he gets to you even if your level is low

with GI mimics, I can turn-off all RTX shadows and RTX Lighting except RTX Reflections; DLSS = Auto; Plus some small adjustment to the other graphic settings (slightly below Ultra preset settings).
Now I can get STEADY 60fps at 4K with a RTX 3090** :D
This game is trully awesome!! :rockout:

1) They actively his and manipulated the review process. Nvidia does it to ONE single youtuber and the community cries in outrage. CDPR does the same thing to the entire console community and somehow people are dazed and confused?

2) "It's a next gen game released on last gen console" This point is moot (at best). News flash: next gen games have been being released on last gen consoles since consoles have been around. News flash: there are equally ambitious games as cyberpunk out there right now that run just fine on the same hardware.
News flash: Nobody was expecting premium performance on the ps4 they just wanted a playable game. (And I am personally inclined to believe that if they would have optimized better they could have gotten it there)

The consoles are a non-issue for CDPR. Extra sales and exposure. Nothing more. Their core market and audience is the PC crowd. Always has been and will be. Even TW3 sold better on PC even when it came out as a pretty decent console release.
A non-issue for CDPR? that is completely and utterly hilarious dude. They've lost millions if not billions already, their stock continues to plummit, sony yanked them off the store...Something tells me that was not the "exposure" they were looking for. If you think consoles are a non-issue for CDPR then you're having comprehension issues because it's quite the opposite...consoles are a massive issue for CDPR right now and it's causing them unprecedented consequences.

P.S: not sure how credible that article is or what happened with sales on TW3 after the article was released, but I read somewhere that console sales ended up overtaking p.c sales in the end. Even if that wasn't true it was close enough to where what you're saying holds no weight. It was clearly a game that was marketed heavily for console AND pc...(like cyberpunk)

There's nothing wrong with enjoying the game people (i know I have) but it doesn't mean you need to stand by and massage CDPR's nuts with your mouths after they just pulled off the most anti-consumer video game launch in history.

I mean, didn't they certify it in the first place? Or do they rely on the devs to know what they're doing and make sure it runs 'acceptably'? Why didn't they just pull it for people with last gen consoles?

So many questions, so strange to see a game that runs fine on the current console gen get pulled like that.

Something that can easily be fixed with a warning/label - WARNING: If you have a 7 year old console with graphics that are handily beaten by your current iphone, then this game will run like hot garbage, buy at your own risk.

What we can hope is that CDPR CEO/COO, the investors seeing the stock falling, will become humble and not try to rush their next game. The fact the investor already mentionned TW4 in their last call made me feel uneasy. "You blew it with a new licence, so what about the next game based on a licence that had a financial sucess ?"

I thought the Witcher 3 was the end of the series?
