I choice the combo because I live alone and only have sun lolis in it at summer and a lot of veggies and some meat.

But yeah there shouldn't go a lot wrong but the 5 years warranty is always a nice touch.

My UPS battery died and gave me fits before doing so. New battery installed and all is well!

ExpertPower is actually a fairly reliable aftermarket battery dealer with decent prices. What I like about them is the batteries don't tend to sit on the shelf very long. Good choice.

I don't game at all, do A/V production. It's going to replace a very early 12700K that lost the binning lottery. It was at least a 30 mile shorter drive to pick it up than go to the nearest Micro Center.

Picked this up open-box at a local Best Buy...

It's a 2022 ROG Zephyrus G14 with an R9-6900HS, 16GB DDR5-4800, 1TB WD SN735, and an RX 6700S.

I got it for $1005 before tax.

It's a pretty powerful device. The CPU is about on par with my desktop, though the GPU is about half as powerful.

But the best part is that it can be configured to run fanless and use less power when on the go.

I'll also throw in that if you have a ROG laptop and hate bloatware, I found an extremely lightweight open-source app that can be used in place of ARMOURY CRATE.

It still lets you switch between fan/power profiles, toggle the dGPU on and off, and even change the colors of the keyboard backlight and set a charging percentage limit.

True. For this UPS, it's the first battery replacement. I've had this one for 6 years and the replacement battery was a little less than $30. Not shabby at all.

Agreed. That was the reason for the selection.

So my latest purchases are a set of fans and a pair of 128GB microSD cards.

The fans are a brand I've never seen before, but looked like decent quality and I was not disappointed, they are VERY quiet and yet push lot's of air.
The MicroSD cards are to replace slower models, same space, just much faster.

Not for me, but we found a HP Zbook 15 Gen6 with a 9850H, Quadro T2000 and the 4K Dreamcolor display for €600. It's for my niece, she's studying design and does a lot of modeling in Blender. The GPU is the weak part, but she has a good desktop at home, so the laptop is purely for "mobile" use. She travels a bit and stuff has a tendency to get a bit worn, which is why I looked at a workstation instead of a gaming laptop. Pretty happy with that find. No, scratch that, VERY happy. The Dreamcolour 4K screen alone is a many money option.

I shouldve went with the 6400 kit cause i was thinking like you, I went that exact same kit but in 6ghz CL32 flavor. The 7700 works at 6200 speed but unsure whats throwing errors in memtest. cpu imc or memory. Cant tell cause ram is only rated up to 6Ghz.

i think am5 is largely limited to 6000 even, best to stick with expo for am5 imo
