What's your latest tech purchase?

Nothing special. Just a used out RX 6700 XT from XFX. Came to me in a very dirty condition, needs thermal interfaces replacement and a complete radiator clean-up. Came really cheap and works fine (even inspite having terrible OC capability) so I'm happy. I use it downclocked because it exceeds my reqs in RT Off gaming and can't reach anything reasonable RT On so I stick with the RT Off option at the lowest comfortable clocks.

Cant remember if mentioned, got a new desk
Motor in each leg to adjust height, helping a lot with my back issues already

Working on attaching power boards, USB hubs etc to the desk itself so as it raises and lowers, all cables go with it (other than the sleeved DP cables on the far right)

I have an 8TB drive collecting dust, empty, for like three years now. Always thought I might use it, but I never have lol

At least it will still be mint condition if I ever do need it someday, I expect I will eventually since every game is like 100gb in size now. Crazy times. I remember in high school playing Final Fantasy XI MMO, and it was like 2gb HDD required space at the time. I might be remembering that wrong, but yeah, just wild to me how much things have changed.

A lot of people do the side by side thing. I don't get it. The vertical stacked thing is so much more symmetrical.

Probably because most gaming is now optimized for 16:9 and 21:9 now. That's only reason I can see

other than the sheer size of it, how do you like the OLED? are you finding it more immersive when gaming?

just barely fits, lmao... shame your speaker can't move over just a little bit, that would bug me that it is blocking a little bit of the screen.

I wanted to take more comparison pictures with the 3080ti but didn't have time..... I will say gigabyte is really doing the bare minimum here as far as build quality although the card seems super solid structurally.

Quick synthetic comparison too lazy to get my cpu score up lol.... Thankfully zero coil whine at least at under 300fps and the cablemod cable seems to be working great so far.

Should handle minesweeper Ultra+++ settings now......

It's amazing! I'm more getting used to the flat screen coming from a curved screen but the colors and blacks/whites are incredible. Sitting in front of it, the speakers aren't in the way, it's very close but the perspective of the photo does that. I do have another longer desk I'll be setting up soon and I'll wall mount the TV and move everything about a foot away more. Just going to try things out how it is for now.

the second pic is the after, tied to the metal beams - I assumed the blue USB-3 hub would be a big enough clue

Those have 3x 480GB + 240GB, I also have a 1TB boot drive and 256GB drive on the other side of the case. ~3TB total

My neck hurts thinking about that.

I use 3x 32" monitors at arms length at work. Stacking those would have them over my head.

I have side by side. I use my main 32" 4K for internet browsing, movies and gaming, my 24" 1080p (literally) right next to it is for youtube as I mostly have something playing in background :toast:

Using an arm for two monitors and VESA mounting.

I had 3x 1080p few years ago, gaming was hella immersive though I had a GTX 980 back then, so I had to drop the settings on newer games significantly to get a smooth 5760x1080 at 60fps. :laugh:
