Ofcourse, a firepro isn't meant for gaming anyway.
Was still worse than my igpu in opengl (the firepro is designed to run opengl tasks)

Was so close to pulling the trigger on x2 2TB WD850X or Solidigm p44 pro but got a sweet deal on two Samsung 990 PROs from staff discount. Tied in a 256gb flash drive too. For the SSDs, seeing earlier issues were resolved with firmware updates I'll make sure to update on installation.

a happy wife is a happy life!
For sure she spent the night away gladly with that GORGEOUS screen of the MBA. And not a single complaint about performance while using Chrome (yes, her old laptop got that bad quite frequently).
Now I just need to understand what makes her Logi G435 bitch everywhere (be it her old Dell, her new MBA or even my desktop) when on lightspeed, but at least it tags along just fine on bluetooth. Fix one issue, another shows up...

Wew boy, it was a bit of a splurge month for upgrades for my computer wife, here's all the new accessories I got for her:
- New second monitor: Samsung Odyssey G3 24" FHD Monitor (165Hz).
- RAM upgrade: Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz CL40 DDR5 XMP kit.
- TPM Module: Gigabyte TPM SPI 2.0 Module (to disable fTPM and work around game stutters).
- Extra Storage: Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SATA SSD (for games).
- New SATA cables: 4x Corsair Premium Sleeved SATA Cable 60cm Black 2-Pack (to neaten up cables with new drive placements).

I think that'll be it for now. I've got no real interest in a newer CPU, newer GPU, more storage etc. Maybe we'll revisit the subject when the 8000 series cards come out :)

What model Sabrent USB SSD enclosure and does it support TRIM?
I got that enclosure:

The Sabrent webpage says yes. I cannot confirm that because I didn't take care about that and so i didn't checked and verified that. It supports a toollless montage. Just press a button and the enclosure opens. Lay in the SSD and lock it without screws. I bought that SSD enclosure to save my data from that SSD. In my new rig i will only use PCIe 4.0x4 drives. My old Gigabyte Aorus Master has big issues on mixed environments. As i wrote before it didn't recognize the SSD even at boottime. The enclosure does. It could be because of a BIOS or a wrong configuration. It could be sourced by the hardware. I bought for my new rig an Asus ProArt X670e. I had the Asus Rog Crosshair X470 befor with a 2700x. And now again an Asus X670e with a Ryzen 7570x. Only that Gigabyte board kept me running with a lot of problems. I earn money by using the machine not whilst searching issues.

Within the next month the missung 5 Items to complete the rig will be bought. And also there i philosophe a lot about the needs i have. The processor is set. But the Ram, SSD's and GFX is still not set. Do i need a RX6950xt or is a Arv770 ltd enough, What marque the SSD will be? Seagate, WD or sabrent? What ram is the best for my needs. 64GB yes. But with what timings. It will take a few month. I will finish the build this year. But i have a hell to design and 3D print for that. It starten because i did want to have a disstroplate in the sidepanel and not far away in the back. So i had to modify that sidepanel to get it as i did want to. In my signature you will find a thread with my build with some integrated pictures.

this is actually a really cool idea.

I got a 5600x3d and 7900 xt a couple weeks ago, so far loving it. been a solid rig for me. I am going to emulate some old PS2 games here soon, been having that itch for nostalgia for awhile now.

the PS2 adapter or the bike stuff???

given the following : obviously the PS2 adapter :D
I got a 5600x3d and 7900 xt a couple weeks ago, so far loving it. been a solid rig for me. I am going to emulate some old PS2 games here soon, been having that itch for nostalgia for awhile now.
all that bike (and PS2) stuff delayed my 5800X3D quite a bit ... oh well ... my bike is my main focus atm ... next after the new pedals, would logically be oval chainring new cranks and bolts

and a 7900 XT hum ... if anything new for GPU i would take the XFX MERC319 RX 6900 XT i saw for 600ish chf but my Red Devil RX 6700 XT fits all my needs and is a true champ in perf and cooling :D

ahhhhhh maybe i will just take another 32gb of the same RAM i run alongside the tubeless upgrades i intend to get later ...

also all the new bike gears were bought on TEMU (aside the Jagwire disc brake rotor and the Ergon GE1 Evo Factory handle) which replaced AliExpress in my heart for cheap goods ... main attraction? TEMU shipping : 7 days at most ... AliExpress 2 weeks when lucky, 1 month when slightly less lucky ... and "Stuck in Luhansk post triage center" when extremely unlucky ... ( which happened to me in April 2022 for a phone case ... sad ...)

both are cool, I may be getting a 29" wheel bicycle soon, I want the extra speed. walmart has one for $180, I think I am going to grab it. won't be amazing or anything, but it will get the job done on a budget. i don't do any hard trailing or anything, and I don't bike in the rain, so it should last me a really long time with basic maintenance.

my 7900 XT, once oc'd it knocks on the door of the XTX. doesn't break 60 celsius core 75 hotspot ever, XFX MERC is an insanely overbuilt and high quality card, and I love it.

oh yeah! well i got 27.5" because they did not have the L or M in 29" in stock ... and as i am 172, the S in 170 27.5" was not too bad ... since november 2022 ... that E-MTB is a pure bliss ... work days: i ride it, day off : i ride it hard! (WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG! Down the mountains and hills (tm) ) i have no drivers license nor car ... but i love biking....

my 7900 XT, once oc'd it knocks on the door of the XTX. doesn't break 60 celsius core 75 hotspot ever, XFX MERC is an insanely overbuilt and high quality card, and I love it.
XFX was my most loved AMD centric brand (my first "modern" GPU upgrade was a XFX HD 5850 quite a while ago ) until i got some Powercolor cards later on ... and the Red Devil line is literally monstrous in every aspect ...also overbuilt high quality cards (just noticed the MERC319 RX 6900 XT i mentioned went out of stock ... almost regret it  )

glad you love your current rig :D

also for the bike: i hope you have a red option

Well I've recently built my new system.

You should update your system specs because I don't think you are still running a "AMD FX-6100 3.3GHz" here... :D

Is that an A4Tech V7M mouse? An excellent choice! Though, they have been around for a while and are more difficult to find. Got a spare one when my current one goes out.
I'll, probably, switch to wireless after. Logitech M650 L caught my attention, but it's not as comfortable.

BTW, i bought might it for my ps3 as it's hdmi port stopped working and i didn't have component in my tv

both are cool, I may be getting a 29" wheel bicycle soon, I want the extra speed. walmart has one for $180, I think I am going to grab it. won't be amazing or anything, but it will get the job done on a budget. i don't do any hard trailing or anything, and I don't bike in the rain, so it should last me a really long time with basic maintenance.

What do you have now that this would provide extra speed over?
