Just like i was saying elsewhere, RandomgamingHD tested the game an his 1070Ti was using only 110W because he paired it with a 2600X. This game needs some CPU power for 60+ fps. I expect that the scenario of The Last Of Us will happen here too, that after about 2-3 months the game will run better on lower end hardware.

Look at the R5 2600X beating out the i7 9900K

Their results are all over the place - i never trusted them, and this test certainly didn't change that.

I'm willing to bet that all reliable sources are going to have quite different results...

Edit :

Tried seeing what i could get by running 1080p with FSR2 at 50% render res - was still gpu limited

But the game doesn't seem to scale very well with res in general - this is 4k with FSR2 at 50% render res

This is native 4k

Yeah it's never good to go by one review so far BGIII has been at best 50/100 for me.

Alternatively Nier PS3 has a 68/100 on metacritic and it's one of my favorite games ever made.

My biggest issue with BG3 is it is not an ARPG. I know the team system hinders that but I still would have preferred an ARPG instead of a traditional but from watching Youtube BG3 could be the best written RPG of all time. I do want to play it but I am a kinetic Gamer and want the Diablo style ARPG that scratches my itch. Diablo 4 doesn't do it for me anymore. Admittedly I was in Exoprimal for the last few weeks but Starfield is not in my wheelhouse. I was actually going to post a thread as to if Starfield can remove Star Citizen from the equation but now I am into Everspace 2 and it is plenty kinetic for me.

It's an AMD sponsored game, so surely it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that it performs better on amd gpus...

This on the other hand seems about right. The game has severe CPU optimization issues, btw. Smart folks are already gathering info to report to Bethesda. Seems like not even X3D is going to help with this one.

Ok, I broke down and bought the premium upgrade. I get it on gamepass for pc they offered me the premium upgrade for 34 bucks plus an extra 10% so I got it for 30 bucks. I haven't played it yet, but hopefully today I will. :d

Runs flawless on a 5800X / 2080 Ti max settings. So far I haven't noticed much of a dip in visual quality with FSR2. That's because the game is not very colorful just like Skyrim and Fallout.

Part of me thinks FSR drives me crazy becuase I mainly game on a 65 inch screen... In Nov/Dec I'll likely be switching to a 42 inch oled maybe it won't be so bad. Although the 240hz 27 inch varients are tempting as well.

Core i9 13900K5,5 GHz | 32 Threads | DDR5-5600

I also noticed my i7 12700K was tested with DDR5-4400

Not sure how much of a difference it makes but some for sure.

Starfield is by far the worst performing game i've ever seen in my 20+ years...
a ~3GHz 4090 runs at two digit framerates at 1440p... fully GPU bound.

No cap. I played at 120 fps with Vsync on my 6800 XT and it gets 120 fps indoors (@1440p Hi settings, no scaling) and here n' there but 70-90 fps outside and around more complex scenery. You can feel the difference but the game feels smooth even capped to 60 fps.

I'm going to find the settings that are hitting fps the hardest and bring those down to medium, leave everything else on high, and textures on ultra. Hopefully with all AMD setup I can bring in 130+ fps consistently at 1440p this way. DLSS will fix your problems soon enough I am sure.

Naah, it's just Bethsoft pushing their engine to the very limits of what it can do. There has been plenty of games that are hard to drive when maxed out, no need to go to conspiracies to explain it.

I dont know about you but with a 3080ti laptop version, it runs pretty good. You must be something messed up.
