I was considering getting the QD-OLED Alienware one (my local Best Buy even had an open-box one), but I'm too paranoid about burn-in. I tend to leave static images on my monitor for extended periods of time.

My current monitor (35" Monoprice) has been doing this annoying thing where it'll come on in some sort of low-color-depth mode. Blacks are light gray, and other colors are washed out. I used to be able to power cycle it to fix the issue, but lately, I've had to disconnect and reconnect it from power.

Anyone with this monitor (Dell S3422DWG), how has your experience with it been?
I have at least 3000 hours on mine in a year(I’ve done 2 panel refreshes which are every 1500hrs) Not a hint of burn in of any kind I let it go off after 10 min I have tons of desktop icons . I play aot of the same driving sims so always a static cockpit. Trust me if you do the mitigations when they come up(every 4 hours for a pixel refres) takes about 10min it will be totally fine and you’ll regret not getting one.
This will be my monitor until it dies or theres some major tech leap I have the DW with the Gsync module and I run AND still have no complaints.

What is that? Does it copy data from one M.2 SSD to another?
Yep, but it can also, if I did read correctly, serve as a dock if connected to a pc

I need one of these for work... if only they had one that did SATA to M.2

You have to sit there and wait 10 minutes? I was under the impression that it does it in real time, I think LG 4k TV's shift the pixels in real time.

Well yeag the screen goes black the lpoer light flashes green for I mean i never timed it but approximately 10min then it shuts off when it’s finished. I recently factory reset and now it’s going a bit overb and never missin one but it did do a “Guh” on me I did a Pixel Refresh, came back turn ped it on and it popped up right away to do one…I’ve also a random issue whete It won’t ease back or respond to the power button forcing me to have to unplug it. I think the next time this happens I may file an RMA. I mean it”may” hav+done this max half a dozen times since I got it and my previous GPU is getting ready tobe sent back for RMA soIncant make any kind of guess only that it has done it once with.my new GOU wheni rebooted II got the GPU beep code because the monitor isn’t “connected“
i mean I absolutely love it it just has some not really game breaking gremlins that creep up ever so often but I would still never choose a different monitor.

I mean I know LG OLED tv' also refresh everything, but they only do it when the tv has been in standby for x amount of time and only like once a week or month, I forget which... but not every four hours... every four hours doesn't sound right. I'd def call their customer tech service team up and ask them some questions.

No that’s correct. It’s also supposed to do while in Standby and I even caught the green light flashing tho I’ve never noticed iif it stopped it from the regular cycle. But I assure every 4 hours of use requires a Pixel Refresh. I’ll try to remember time it. I really don’t mind if it’s keeping the panel in proper condition. The real problem is alwys has the best timing. Last night it came on when I was driving at night online with my buddy in ATS. He also has one and the one who sold me on it.
I mean maintenance is just normal I’d rather do it than not. Obviously I skipped that one while I was driving but wait for it to go away wasn’t ideal because it wasn’t like I could have reached forward and press cancel. I’ll go force one amd time it for you. ;)
Edit: @Space Lynx it took about 6 minutes

That sounds really annoying. Is it a forced refresh every 4 hours - meaning it may happen mid-game? Even a popup reminder alert could screw up a game if it removes focus. Having to occasionally remove the power to get it to restart makes it even worse. I've heard the performance is amazing, but still...

Problem is M.2. is just a formfactor and than you have SATA, NVME and PCI-E which are being use withd M-key, B-key and M+B key it's kind of a mess going on with the M.2. formfactor with the difference connectivity.

Pretty much yes to all of that the locking up thing I don’t know why it’s only done it a few times in the year I’ve owned it now And yes I have reached my “final form” when it comes to monitors I was already I love w the size and form factor(had a 34” G5 before this one) and yes OLED freaking amazing it does have a unique issue with some games when it comes to refresh rates and sometimes it’s totally random and some times it’s easily repro”d tho any tickets I’ve filed the higher ups haven’t been able to repro so they get closed

Im,not on my PC right now but basically if i go into the details for my monitor it shows my Freesync range as 1-175. Sounds great right? Well the best one and again not at my PC or i could show you yesterday’s screen shots but the long amd the short of it is in FH5 when the game is loading and going through the splash screens it chooses a VERY random refresh rate usually I’m the double digits yesterday I think it was 44 so now the card won’t clock up because hey it’s only 44 FPS where as I run the monitor at 144 so sometimes I have to give it a couple of kicks before it works right amd shows my actual available refresh rate and properly clocks up.

I play a lot of ATS/ETS it’s the ONLY game I run Vsync on because I basically would have to turn the in game scaling to 400% before it would actually having to start to work hard and not run maxed at 144 I most situations(technically I can choose my monitors real max refresh of 175 and it will run in the 160s Bit again sometimes it has the same issue as FH5 amd doesn’t clock up properly well I just recently switched from a 6950XT to a 7900XTX so now it kinda sits down in double digits for 10 or 15 seconds then eventually clocks back up normally or I can either just change a GFX settings and not even apply it or lastly the foolproof solution with all of theses is to just disable Freesync via each games profile.

yep i know, which is why i had a "double take" moment and checked the model of the dock and cancelled the Sata and replaced the order with the NVMe one :D

Ordered a 14700K and z790 MB that came with a 6000MT/s 2x16GB kit as well for $580 shipped including tax on a Newegg Black Friday combo deal. Also ordered a few things from Scamazon a pair of Prosonic portable Bluetooth speakers and a assortment of USB-C adapters along with a 1/4 to 1/8 right angle headphone jacks so I can use it for a aux connection to the speakers plus a shiny metal LGA1700 anti bender bracket. Also bought a copy of FL Studio Producer Edition.

I found the keyboard at a random store with a 10-quid discount on it. It's not a fortune, but I've always wanted a decent mechanical keyboard with white backlight (I hate RGB on peripherals). It's a bit less clicky than the noname one I had before, but feels very nice in general. The only thing that feels weird for now is the left Shift key being half the size than that on the old one, which makes me mistype at times.

Then the mouse, just to make the set complete. I didn't even know that it had a weighted scroll wheel for getting to the bottom of web pages quickly, but it's awesome! You can also switch between clicky and smooth movement on it depending on your preference or the situation.

I was a bit reluctant to buy both (these are by far the most expensive input devices I've ever had), but I don't regret it. :)

Samsung Galaxy
The only time I had Samgalaxy was more than a decade ago. I was a Galaxy Ace owner back then. Nice device but a little too fragile for me. xD

Are they as fragile as then? I don't fancy a phone unable to survive a couple months.

No idea - I always take good care of my devices, never drop them or anything. :) I'm using this one with an original Samsung silicone shell, and it's been running solid for about a year and a half now.

My main reason for using Samsung is the software which I've got too used to through the years (I don't like change). :ohwell:

What is this used for? I have never owned anything like this, I am just curious. I know Steam Deck can have its sticks replaced if you know soldering techniques, but thats only use case I could think of

I've just found out that the thumb rest of the mouse actually hides a button with the default function of switching between windows. This thing is like a freakin' Batmobile or James Bond supercar!
