Wow! CyberPunk on an i3 & RX480? THERE's your problem...
I needed to stress test it so I came up with a very reliable way of telling if it's stable or not xD
Another good use for it? Get yourself a USB 3 SATA enclosure and turn it into external data storage.
My digital luggage estimates cca 800 megabytes data I really do mind losing. The rest can be lost any minute and I won't give a damn. And making a biz off one data storage doesn't sound much profitable to me either. I will sell these i3 and motherboard and buy a proper CPU for my semi-abandoned Z490 Vision D so I could have a reasonably modern backup PC.

UPS tend to use industrial fans.

I could just use a 24-12 V step down buck converter but eh.

The Turbulentlabs boutique leather/suede wrist rest is excellent though. Can recommend.
On my part of the globe the most common brand is APC, with the 600 and 1100 VA models that you can buy. The 1100VA model offers a load capacity of 660W, but reviews say the fan ramps up fairly quick if there's load on it. You think it could be using the same kind of fan?

No idea.
Check the spec, probably some 80mm fan or maybe two.

Don't get a 660 W, it will be running close to peak load all the time which isn't good for efficiency or longevity.

Try and get a refurbished Online Double Conversion unit, with twice the capacity of the peak load of your system. I saved 70% off RRP with mine and it looks brand new.

You might be able to find an old desk accessory case for storing them. Stretching to remember why I thought there were some interesting ones.

Theoretically yeah, but my system is actually going to consume only about 420 watts if everything is running maxed out. The 650 is just the maximum capacity of the power supply.
Getting an 1100VA UPS is only due to overloading concerns, as I can't be sure that it will run below 360 watts all the time.

Welcome to the club. Now you can upgrade your gpu in 2025 without thinking of the cpu holding you back.

Fall 2023 and 5800X3D still sells...

On topic: I purchased another EN-EL14 battery for my dSLR.

Hi,
Yeah those VA numbers get most people confused especially myself hehe
I got a cyber power1325VA and it's really about 850w true sine of course.

But yeah you can always tell if oc is effecting it because the battery kicks in.

A good rule of thumb seems to be wattage is 65% of VA for a UPS

love that gif about the 5800X3D :D well for me it was even a bigger upgrade coming from a R5 3600 :D
and with a RX 7900 XTX .... i think my upgrade itch will come way later than it did for my i5 6600k and GTX 1070 to R5 3600 and RX 6700 XT did

alright, moar docking the dockable thing that need to be docked ...
20231223_200651.jpg
yeah, 6 time cheaper, 60w PD capable (instead of 100w PD) still work fine ... (the ally go into 30w Turbo no issues ) and .,..

mostly aluminium built!
20231223_200718.jpg20231223_200732.jpg
same HMDI and USB capability although 3x USB-A instead of 2 USB-A 1 USB-C (not an issue) hilarious fact: way more compact, can handle the Ally with the protective case and the packaging is half the size
eh, ibroz should be ashamed to sell the "your ally deserve the best!" dock ... a generic AliExpress 6 time cheaper SteamDeck dock do way better ... :D

My bosses have all said I have done an amazing job this year. Anyways, long story short, I decided to reward myself for my progress by building my first ever mech keyboard.

$16 on sale Glorious PC base, $12 Akko Cream Yellow V3 Pro switches, and already had a spare set of keycaps unopened in the Hyperx Pudding variety I got for $10. So, under $40 total, it was a pretty fun experience. For the price paid I am happy with it, in a couple years I might lube the switches, I don't feel they need it right now, and I might replace the keycap set with a thematic no rgb one eventually, like an ocean wave color but no lights. I dunno

Building your own keyboard - nice.

I've heard mechanical keyboards are a bit noisy(-ier) in general. That the case with this one?
