I personally never have and never will buy used electronics UNLESS I personally know the seller
and the history of the device. And I don't mean a friend of a friend, a neighbor's coworker, or a cousin's brother-in-law. I mean a specific person and original owner of the device that I have known as a friend, or a nearby long-time neighbor, or my actual first cousin - and I know where they live.
I know many have bought $1000s from eBay with no problems. But I also know and have heard horror stories of many who got ripped-off. If I am planning on getting years of service from the device, I will pay retail (hopefully on sale) price for a new product, in its original packaging,

Side note and hypothetical question - I note the seller is in Romania and Romania is an EU member country. The EU has some of the better consumer protection laws in the world. I wonder if the buyer had any recourse here? Probably not.
