Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: Speculation, Assumptions?

Aloy's facial hair would be more high def
Its uncanny that this actually looks a lot better, less out of place than Aloy.

They should have waited a few more years to do a remaster and then a few years later a complete remake. It works. Just ask COD MW.
it goes
remaster edition
special edition
Anniversary Edition
remake edition

The cynic in me says they're doing this to make a Playstation account mandatory on PC.

I recently played through Zero Dawn and Forbidden West back-to-back and I didn't see anything in FW that made ZD obsolete or needing a refresh.
Why you cynic you!! But dam-it! I thought exactly the same thing.

What is there to remaster in a game a single generation old?
Kinda disappointed no one replied to this simply with "The price tag."

I doubt they will change the art style dude bros are already triggered by the main character as it is lol.
Calling them "art style dudes" is very generous of you.
The "red pill" nonsense-partaking morons that make up the bulk of twitter's "gamers" are hardly judges of either art or style. And it has little to do with bust-waist-hip ratios. Just follow the evolution of their critique to Hades 2's Aphrodite.
(One could argue that it started this way. Remember Mass Effect Andromeda? The fact that nearly everyone hated how faces were modeled/animated may have drowned them back then).

What irks me most about these manipulations, is that apparently, women need to be manipulated one way or another before they are perceived to look good/acceptable. It starts with the simple idea of make up. What do you have to hide? There are so many real people that don't need any of it and look perfectly fine.

That, at its very core is what bothers me so much about all the recent drama on these kinds of subjects. People fight for personal freedoms, but they achieve the polar opposite, because internet (or: public exposure). Its a complete paradox. And it all detracts from the game / subjects its really about - whichever way the dice roll, really.
Seriously, you make a good point, well said. I agree.

Not so seriously. I am glad it's not men though! ahem. cough.

Folks, please respect the OP and keep the topic about the game and re-releases.

I need this.

Although, now I'm having flashbacks of trying to press X at the right time for Dart's attack and failing most of the time. I have no idea why but I was awful at timing that, whereas I had far less trouble timing it in Final Fantasy VIII with Squall's gunblade.
Try and play it on a emulator with 60fps or on the PS4, the button input is a lot easier to pull off with the higher frame rate.

That (an emulator) is actually how I was playing it when I last tried it and had the difficulty with it.

I also had very slight difficulty doing the mini-game in Final Fantasy IX trying to impress the nobles. I mean, that one was always a little tough to do perfectly, but I couldn't get 100 the last few times I tried (I think 96 or 97 was the best I could do).

I was starting to think that perhaps the reason it may have been a bit easier back then because we were on CRTs and not LCDs, which will add delay. My current LCD doesn't feel like it had a terrible delay, but it's probably enough to make the somewhat tough things that much tighter on timing.

How about we get Horizon Forbidden West first..
^^THIS^^ Still waititng. They are behind schedule based on the previous recent past Sony releases to get this to GOG.

...ouch. I see why they're making the Horizon remaster sharpish, now.

It could be due to emulator accuracy. Good read.

You missed hellblade: senua's sacrifice 2 isn't on G.O.G either! While the original hellblade: senua's sacrifice is on G.O.G.

Well, apparently Sony has officially announced the remaster now. From what I read it will have better 3D models, shaders and textures but not ray tracing. It will be offered for $10 to anyone that already owns the game. Pointless imo but Sony seems to think that some will buy it.

Why? HZD looks great as is. It doesn't need a remaster.. WTH Sony?!?

No. This seems like a shameless money grab. Horizon Forbidden West on GOG? Ok, I'll buy that in a New York Minute! But an unneeded "remaster"? No thanks..

WTH Sony?!?
I made basically the same question when they launched TLoU 1 Remaster for the PS4 a single year after it launched on the PS3.
One could argue the generational jump from the 3 to the 4 justified it, but I digress. Only greed could explain it then, only greed can explain Sony's decisions now.

In any platform, though?

My guess is on Playstation only but we will see.

While this is a much bigger update than I was thinking it would be more similar to the last of us 1 being updated to the last of us 2 the base game didn't need it still for 10 bucks on PlayStation for anyone that owns the OG game is right at the edge of fair and much better than making people who bought it pay full price although on PC my guess is no such upgrade will be available.

Also sony has a major content issue with their first parties right now only Insomniac and Nixxes seems to be able to pump out stuff with any regularity is my guess on why we are seeing the remasters, I'm actually more excited about the soul reaver remaster lol.

TLoU 1 Remaster
That isn't ringing any bells. What's it short for?

In all fairness, some remakes are totally worth it. Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD are next level. The 3D Switch version of Links Awakening? Hell yes! But those brought extra value to the table. Not all remakes do and this one for HZD doesn't seem like it will.

The last of us.

Hence the 'pointless' in my post. I know why Sony thinks they will make some money off of this. Because a lot of gamers will buy damn near anything. That is the biggest reason why gaming is in the state it is today though there are other reasons too but the bottom line is publishers/developers aren't going to stop making shit until gamers stop buying shit.

Ah, ok yeah I remember that one. I'll agree that that one was worth it.

I'd say most good games from the PS360 era are worth it the majority ran like crap at really low resolutions. Even a lot of the version that came to PC were not very good during that era.
