I don't have any popping or crackling with either analogue or digital. What is your current latency? Sometimes Windows will leave uninstalled endpoints in the registry so it might need cleaning.

Here I am playing music (Internet stream via Potplayer, 32 bit float), and are running Discord and Steam, so the computer is not idle.

Latency Test.png Task Manager.png

If you are using DTS Interactive, enable 'Stereo Mix' (see post 1).

----

Open 'Services', and end 'Windows Audio Endpoint Builder', download ExecTI (or use the one in Win CAudio) and run 'regedit.exe'.
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio
Delete all capture and render endpoints, so they are empty, restart the computer.

I have to do this every time Windows is installed from fresh (sometimes after build updates), as it causes issues.

You should notice there are less GUID's after you restart (if you look in the registry).

Hi.Enabling stereo mix did the trick,thanks.
in regards the registry,i went there and see what you posted.A ? however,can i not just delete those keys in the registry,where they are?,
i am trying to understand the need for using ExecTi,is it because those keys have something to do with TrustedInstaller,and must have even more access to them than running in admin mode
thanks

You need to open regedit with TI privileges to access/read/write to those registry keys otherwise you don't have the permission

You can skip that part if it was just keeping SPDIF active (using Stereo Mix). The other part is to do with permissions as mentioned.

@ Everyone, I will do an update soon, sticking with 9601.1 for now as the newer versions seem to be issue prone.

Last I checked this version works fully with Win11 24H2.

I tried your current version just a little after I updated to 24H2 on Windows 11. I had BSOD's and I couldn't do a system restore, I had to do a clean install of my O/S, too scared to try again at this point, I am also using the S1220A B550 Strix Wi-Fi

I don't suppose you would like to create a step-by-step YouTube video for us? I would really like to give this a shot and retire my ASUS Xonar D2X, as the drivers are always a pain to get to work with Windows 10/11.

Anyways, glad I found this thread, I will keep an eye on it, thank you for your work.

+1.

I have tried , but cannot seem to get it working. And, I do not wish to hijack it by asking for detailed personal assistance in this thread.

A step-by-step video would be immensely helpful to those of us are not quite as skilled as others.

@Legacy-ZA, this version does not support Wi-Fi audio, some of the newer boards have Wi-Fi audio support. It will be added with an update.
If a driver causes a BSOD, you should boot into safe mode, and then uninstall the driver, no need to re-install Windows.

No no, it's just the Motherboards name, nothing to do with streaming audio over Wi-Fi, sorry for not being more specific, it's seems to get me in trouble a lot. :)

Well, its probably Win 11 24H2, its full of BSOD. Asus and Realtek have acknowledged it, but its not just Asus, you can Google: Windows 11 24H2 BSOD.

Windows 11 24H2 BSOD related to rtf64x64.sys driver | Windows 11 24H2 BSOD alert: More PCs are crashing

As mentioned previously (on a different day), I will update the files when all the issues are gone.
Still using Win 10, I have no reason to switch to Win 11 at this time.

Yes, thank you, I will check this thread often, I am actively watching it for updates, thank you, I will try again in the future. Again, please, please consider a detailed a step-by-step guide video. :love:

A video is a bit harder to do, given restarts and admin (not always recorded), plus I would have to chop up and merge videos. Maybe one day I will make one.
I will post when I do an update, I also intend to update DTS. Personally I suggest [Win 10] for audio performance and stability.

Hopefully we don't get a repeat of the Win 7 vs Win 8 (not 8.1 which is Win 9), from Microsoft.

====

Also note that the latency and CPU images I posted previously (above) includes all hardware, and all APO's (including the DTS encoder).
I am also upmixing stereo to stereo surround (5.1), fully 32 bit float, Stereo Mix is also enabled + Mic.

The HDA bus (AMD) execution latency is around 0.0028 ms, using SPDIF.

====

For those interested HDA is limited to ~37 Mbits/s, GPU's (HDMI or DP), and HDA Realtek (including SPDIF) are restricted to this maximum speed.
USB Realtek (USB 2.0), is limited to 480 Mbits/s (or up to 480), so technically USB SPDIF (not HDA) can do more channels.

----

The DMAS (RGB) uses 200 mega samples per second (256 bit), per channel, each sample moves the speaker, no generated AC between intervals.
Not only is the speaker moving based on 'original' information (1 bit samples), there is also no de-modulation (DAC-Amp).

----

In regards post 2026,deleting those audio endpoints in the registry.Do these endpoints have anything to do with latency during playback of audio?,or it is a matter of removing them as they are unneeded.
Thanks

I only do it if its a fresh install, as Windows does not fully remove the registry entry for its own Microsoft driver when you update it.
It causes issues as they can be read as an active endpoint, which can cause noise, popping and delays.

couple issues,not sure how or why,but the dtsx within sound unbound is now asking to purchase a license
also i cant figure out which setting i need to have, so headphones when selected does not have the audio coming through speakers as well
thanks

That means Windows installed the latest Sound Unbound, you need to disable Windows Store auto-updates, uninstall SU and re-install.
Separate outputs in the Realtek app (device settings bottom left), to get separate headphones and speakers.

====

I decided to add these images to this post also, first one I am just playing music plus other apps running, (discord and steam).
The second image the same but also running a game, produced yesterday as part of another thread.

The AMD HDA bus has a constant execution latency of 0.0028 ms.

Anyone knows a method to increase the maximum volume via Realtek HDA Driver Utility?
Or if there is any other way to edit the gain on output...

I will look into this over the weekend, last I checked separate output was working correctly. I have also seen the same issue in another thread.

It looks like you have a different driver, It should say [Speakers - DTS DCH Audio Device] not, [Speakers - DTS X Ultra]. I think you have an extension installed you don't want.
As far as laptops, some of them (and possibly some desktops) use different CFG keys, so I might not be able to get separate to work with everything.

@canucker, just noticed you are using a MSI motherboard, MSI are known to do things like this, but I will check on the weekend.

====

I had some time to do testing (Asus S1220A), and I can confirm the feature is working as intended.
