@BoggledBeagle your defence of the unethical thieves who run EK (into the ground) sickens me. Your attack on journalism sickens me. People like you are the reason why bad people like EK's "management" feel like it's okay to do what they do, journalism like what GN does is part of what keeps them from doing it.

Instead of attacking Steve, try looking in the mirror sometime.

Perhaps you have some difficulty to understand written text? Your comments are so detached from what I wrote that you must be living in some paralell reality or have some mental illness.

I have NEVER defended any decisions of the owners/managers. I clearly repeatedly wrote that there are standard mechanisms in place how to deal with problems with the company, as suing it if any contract was not adhered to or money remained unpayed, or reporting the company to the state authorities if anybody believes some laws or other state regulation have been violated.

If anything, I am defending the journalism and its basic and crucial rules (from the Ethical code of SPJ), and pointed out how Stephen Burke violated some of them, and encouraged people to study these rules and think for themselves, which other rules may have been violated.

AFAIK TUL has never been a major NVIDIA AIB. Their older products under the Diamond Multimedia brand used large variety of chipsets from SiS, S3, Tseng Labs, 3dfx and a lot of brands that are no longer with us today. I believe they sold some RIVA TNT designs in the late 1990's, and have been using ATI and then AMD designs exclusively ever since, none of their PowerColor branded products ever used anything but Radeon designs.

EVGA's founders just decided to retire instead of selling the brand. It's good they want to end in a high note, anyway.
What the hell are you talking about high note? You seem to be incapable of seeing what Nvidia has done by squeezing EVGA out of the market as anything but bad. You even claimed they were mismanaged even when you support my argument by trying to expand on the 2 companies I mentioned. We can go on though, it is your opinion after all.

What, then, do you call your acts of deliberately spreading FUD about GN's reporting, in order to deflect from the actions of EK's management?

We've seen conservative politicians do the same thing for the same reason for so long, that we're quite immune to this Gaslight - Obstruct - Project dishonesty. Try harder.

I am defending the journalism and its basic and crucial rules
No you're not. You're using an arbitrary source that you found on the internet, and cherry-picking rules from it to make GN look like bad guys, to further your agenda. But nobody is falling for your bullshit.

Because this is a deluded fantasy. Nvidia hasn't done anything that haven't done to EVGA's competition. All of their competitors survived and have already stepped in and filled the space they left. They could have easily transitioned to AMD which would probably have given them the special treatment they sought but clearly chose not to. So you cannot blame Nvidia here.

EVGA squeezed itself out.

I don't know how much GN's videos affected their sales; there's no objective way to quantify it, but Steve does put a sensationalist spin on things ~ that is not journalism to say the least!

I'd rather hear Walter Cronkite than listen to CC raosts of a failed company by a supposed "journalist."

His commentary is way OTP even when it's avoidable.

this would be my opinion too.

normally I would say "don't shoot the messenger". but.....they kinda deserve it. there was far too much nonobjective emotion used in all this reporting. (same goes with his other controversies going back to the newegg motherboard return) the facts are facts and that is no fault to communicate to others. Though I'd say they acted more like a lobbyist or activist rather than a journalist given the amount of extra color they always inject into their rants. which is why I cringe seeing people call this journalism, let alone good journalism.

journalism like what GN does is part of what keeps them from doing it.

lolz journalism :banghead:

Journalism, the collection, preparation, and distribution of news and related commentary and feature materials through such print and electronic media as newspapers, magazines, books, blogs, webcasts, podcasts, social networking and social media sites, and e-mail as well as through radio, motion pictures, and television.
Please don't accuse others of not knowing what journalism is, when you evidently don't yourself.

Citations needed.
Bro, don't you know that Steve isn't allowed to be angry at scumbags who don't pay their employees?

I generally dislike Steve's for lack of a better term slightly-sensationalist demeanor, but he really kept that out of the EK video. He didn't need to talk like the problems are bigger than they really are, because their mismanagement and downright scummy business operations were shocking enough on their own.

Bingo. Steve has to ham it up a little to get clicks to help cover the costs of this reporting, but if that's the price to pay for the reporting to get done at all, it's more than acceptable in my books.

He didn't need to talk like the problems are bigger than they really are, because their mismanagement and downright scummy business operations were shocking enough on their own.
König lost all credibility for me when he sent out a communication to suppliers, to tell them to ignore GN's piece. You know... those same suppliers that EK hasn't been paying? It very obviously demonstrates that all he is interested in is damage control, and his press releases promising to put things right are just PR bullshit.

You know, when companies have financial problems, they do pay their suppliers, contractors or employees with delay. IT IS NORMAL. You do not need to call anybody in the company names. You do not need to act emotionally, you do not need to be angry. Try to act as a mature adult.

And is such a difficult situation the worst thing that can happen is that the company faces a media attack causing decline in the revenue. Such a situation BENEFITS NOBODY.

The only benefits went to Stephen Burke and possibly to a few people who had been owed money, that they got their money sooner. But the total overall outcome IS A DISASTER FOR EVERYBODY ELSE and for the future of the company.

Please explain how EK was unable to pay everyone except their upper management. Who continued to siphon off money to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars while their employees were in danger of losing their homes.

I'll wait.

I honestly think you should seek professional counseling as you are suffering from a serious disconnect from reality that I would argue is on a level of psychosis.

EKWB has repeatedly not paid the parties listed in your first bolded statement. That is not normal. Jay of Jayztwocents actively told them to not pay him right now, but to pay the employees first and then members of EKWB management went behind the backs of others to pay Jay instead of paying their employees. There's nothing normal about what is going on at EKWB and GN has pointed this out as it was getting swept under the rug as employees were being pressured and threatened to not speak up. GN gave them an outlet to bring this to light which has given many of them options to escape the abuse by their employer since they were being held hostage by being owed (likely thousands at this point) in money they weren't going to see if they spoke up. The last thing a company should do is not pay their employees. If a large percentage of their workforce decides they've had enough and leave all at once, they really are dead as a company and no amount of monetary shenanigans will enable them to survive that. The fact that the management has repeatedly left their employees high and dry while very visibly paying themselves is telling on how poorly run the company is and how uninterested the management is in fixing the issues. GN staying silent would not have enabled recovery from this fiasco.

Why call it an attack? Were there lies or misinformation, or did they omit relevant facts to present a false narrative? Was the video disingenuous?

I repeatedly said that EKWB owners/managers made mistakes, I never tried to defend any of them.

I refuse to analyse personalities and motives of EKWB owners/managers and I refuse to attack them personally. If anybody has any problems with the company as I said five times already, there are stipulated standard procedures in place and I do not think I could help e.g. state authorities of Texas with the tax problem, help to decide for a particular employee or supplier if they should stay in the company, continue to make business with it, etc.

I have no other personal stake in all this beside as a consumer I feel it would be bad if they went under.

Finally, I hope that any rational person can see the shortcomings of GN videos, which did not adhere to the ethical principles of journalism so strongly, that I called them attacks. I also hope, than everybody can see, that the impact of these videos did not help the company, consumers and most of the people and companies who are owed money at all.

They say that repeating things is good for learning, but I start to feel tired to write the same things over and over, I will have a break from this thread and you can continue with your mob party in the meantime as you wish.

EK suddenly creates accounts in Lithuania and then sends it out to 3rd parties and directs them to use THAT account instead for paying EK......
