I'll confess I preordered, but only because I've been waiting for that my entire life... at any price. I still feel officially it's a pretty greedy thing to do to the player base...

I believe they plan to release a bunch of them over time.

I do too. The bad thing is I like the game enough I'll probably buy all of them, lol. Still irritates me.

Nice you go encourage them :p. TBH i don't care as i said before they missing a true coop experience with it which to me is more needed than what they are doing now.

Fly to a planet land on it and i truly hope they don't add a silly feature were everyone can dance but shi that be more coop than what the game is, i do love the game my self but dam why should i play a game on my own or pretty much so when there is so many other games i can play with friends.

And like hell am i paying sterling for a game.

That said, I don't feel the same pains as you as I have a group of lan buddies I play with. Really eases all the social restrictions when you have a ventrilo or something similar and a group of guys you know and no one else to fuck it up. :)

You also can pay in USD, but it doesn't really help much. Exchange rate is awful lol.

Repost from somewhere else. It looks like this is what it'll end up like.
The final update to the base game will be 1.5. 1.4 is CQC, 1.5 is "Ships". The expansion pass for Horizons gives you access to Season 2. Season two includes the expansion (airless landings) but also future content updates. (Like 1.6, 1.7 etc) The base game will continue to get security updates and bugfixes. Season two will stop late 2016 or early 2017 it looks like, and Season 3 will start, possibly with atmosphere landings or walking around. Season three will give you all updates past what Season 2 updates. If you wait until Season 3 comes out to buy any expansions then you'll get all of seasons two and three.

At the moment pricing is $45 for Horizons, $60 for Horizons beta, and $180 for beta forever. The lifetime pass might also grant beta access to 1.4 and 1.5. It's not clear.

Games not really cooperative, well not in the real sense, space stations need to have more than umm 2 coopertive missions that a group could play. bouncing to system to system is not any good even more so if anyone wants to be the 1st person scanning. That leave really the CG's the NAV's and asteroid belts for a group to play in which is pretty lame and gets boring after a short while typically due to lack of spawns.

Finding or being in a group is easy having some thing interesting and different for a group is very limited.

Ah well, getting my group to do the same thing anyways is impossible, so don't matter to me. :)

But it is a legitimate complaint to be sure...

I am a sucker and I bought it. The £10 discount and the Cobra MK IV were just too tempting(I love my Cobra despite owing a Python and a Vulture)

My buddy bought me the game because he wanted me to play with him, and as an early birthday gift :p

I am enjoying it, it really helped to have him guiding and helping me, I would have been overwhelmed for sure.

I just recently bought a new ship, Cobra MK. III, wasn't used to the size of the ship, didn't account for clearances and smacked full rip into the edge of a port's opening and exploded... Didn't have enough $ to rebuy and rage quit. I'll be back I just need time to deal. ;)

So I'm mixed on the new expansion. On one hand planetary exploration sounds cooler than cool, but on the other hand they are charging a nearly new game price for what should be treated as an expansion pack at best IMO. Any comments?
I bought in at the "All Expansions" level, so I'm covered there, but that is a bit high for an expansion.....

This thread is about to get a whole lot more popular. It hit 40% off today on Steam, so I finally bought it. Guessing plenty of others will too.

Yea, I just grabbed. It didn't take long to install. I've used it with my Oculus Rift and it looks really good! Controls are going to take a little bit to get use too. I have to find my Flight stick.. I'm using a XBox 360 controller.

What do people recommend? Mouse & Keyboard or XBox 360 controller? No desire to buy a flight stick.

I tried using a 360 controller and absolutely hated it. I recommend sticking with the keyboard and mouse.

Flight stick haha TT have one around $47, which should be enough to last the game as there is nothing much in it and just gets very repetitive and lacks coop missions.

$27

It does need more stuff especially for those that need coop. I play here and there but I'm not the type to play till I burn out...plus I love the combat in this game.

This game has the initial wow factor and learning curve to keep a person busy...but many will go "then what?" After they've done all they want to do out of what's offered. FD is adding more and more too...in the form of free and paid DLC.

Not sure they are going to pull off the paid DLC as well as they hope.

I still enjoy this games flight model over Star Citizen and its still multitudes easier to configure controls for. I have a CH Hotas w/o pedals and its amazing. But info use KB + mouse on my lappy and do pretty damn well. I didn't like the 360 controller...though I never use it...

I take it you are not a big fan?

@erocker is a huge space sim fan and he said it gets redundant. What is your beef with it?

it is an MMO. Sure, you can play it singleplayer but what fun is that? In order to enjoy MMOs you need to play with people and you need to play it often. For me, it is worth probably 5-6 hours of my time just to fly around space and go pew pew.
