We sound pretty similar, on my last check up I was @46 for resting heartrate and I exercise 4 or 5 times a week but in my conservatory where I have a running machine, exercise bike and rower........... gets harder though the older I get
My best was 44, and the cardiologist couldn't stop going on about it. Now whenever i have a check for something, they always end up saying, do you know you have a low resting heartrate. Apparently it is a good thing and means a long life, that is unless i have trouble on the motorbike. I don't drink or smoke, don't eat junk food, or any fried stuff, so my only vice if it is one is the means of transport.
You just have to be careful on a cycle in the UK @Space Lynx. i have cycled a lot and never really had a problem. Just make sure you use hand signals, and have lights on, specially now it is dark early.
