4.4ghz on the Thermalright sink, 1.27v, 85c and 135w. Not bad for the little chunk of copper. Definitely switching to water though. I want 4.8ghz if I can get it.

You are not wrong about that.
Someone has all ready got that free PC case it is no wonder if the guy is giving it for free o_O I received the heatsink fan it just came in the box no instructions o_OI suppose you screw it in by hand, as there is nowhere to get a screw driver in there.o_OLook at the size difference to the puny intel one.o_OThere is no thermal grease on it though.

Welp, it's about time I head home from college.

As such, I now have a question for ya - anyone think it'd be worth building a SDRAM based P4 with an Aopen AX4BS? Or should I go DDR and buy an ABIT IS7-E2?

Personally I vote for the IS7-E2 option because it is fairly available and cheap with solid bios options. If you can find an Abit AI7 mobo that's even better, generous OC options and very solid CPU support, one of my favorite mobo of that era.;)

Well, IS7-E2 it is then. Anything else ABIT from that era is absolutely unobtanium in Romania, unless it's @Robert B. The city he lives in is the only I've heard of having absolutely diamond-tier scores. Anything else ABIT I have is by pure luck (BE6-II being the only other board.) and even the AOpen mobo was a pure luck score.

Anyways, lemme pull up a pic of my "loot" from the city I have college in. Imagine that I will carry these nearly 800km+ across the country :D R.I.P my back lmao

Nice package.:D It's a pity, you could build more than one solid system on Abit mobos with AMD cpu-s for example: NF7-S version 2.0 or NF8, nevertheless I wish you luck!

Honestly, I have the Socket A/462 era already covered by a few great mobos - Epox 8RDA6+, ASUS A7V8X R2.0, A7N8X-E Deluxe, MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR, A7N8X-VM/400 (crossflashed to Chaintech 7NIL2 as it would not load 98SE properly with the original AMIBIOS no matter what RAM amount was used), A7V600-X as well as a ECS KT600-A. Heck, I even have a wonderful recapped ECS K7VZA R3.0 (flashed w/ Shuttle AK12A BIOS) that used to run Windows ME absolutely crash-free.

Anyways, I'll check on with the aeller tomorrow for the IS7-E2. Something tells me this would've been a "lite" version of the IS7 at (probably) the same price tag of a P4P800-SE or something along that line. The BIOS splash screen alone tells me it should pack a punch with a Northwood HT and a pair of ADATA Vitesta DDR500 :D

Can anyone see any broken pins on here? I can't see any. :)I tested it again with the speaker, and no beeps or anything, I hooked up a DVD drive that was on it, and the try came I have got the speaker in the right place. Still no light on the board. :(Someone on here said I should try another CPU, if I did that I would get the cheapest one on eBay that was known to work. In that way, there would be nothing to lose,1268 and the one with the salt cellar is the CPU for 1368 check those pins to thanks :)

The socket looks fine from here. The speaker is installed correctly. The manual says 6xx series prescott CPUs are supported.
Does the power supply have an On/Off switch and is it On? (I've wasted a lot of time over that one before. lol)
A good CMOS battery is installed.
Clr CMOS (JBat1) jumper is in the keep data position (Pins 1 & 2 jumped).
Reseat the main 20 pin power connector.
Reseat the CPU 4 pin power connector.
Reseat the CPU fan connector.
Reseat 1 stick of RAM into slot 1.
Reseat the GPU in the AGP slot.
VGA securely connected to GPU.

That's all the steps I can think of.

The PSU has an on/off switch if you are talking about the power connecter on the board it only switches on not off.o_OI think I did put a new one in there, I wondered about the jumpers on there. I should think it is a dead board. The thing is the jumpers, do they need moving ? The guy said the light came on the board it never has for me.:(I am going to try the newer one , The power connecter turns it on and off on there.

I'm talking about the On/Off switch on the power supply. I have turned it off before & forgot, then wasted time troubleshooting other things. Not all power supplies have an On/Off switch.
You're correct about the motherboard power switch, it only sends an On signal to the power supply.

Yes i know i I have not gone Radio ga ga yet  I get your point most have though even older ones.I reseated the CPU and ram tried it with the white PSU i got with the Cooler-master case i got a few months. ago. CPU Hearsink was spinning but not the Gpu ,so i changed it for another one and they were both spinning non stop.:)The blue lights stayed solid no blinking. But the power connector only turned on not off ,i have no idea why that is.Heres hoping it can post.It did not work with the semi moduler one for some reason thats the one i get with with that heavy old case. Now for trying to see if ii can get it working further down the line.Someone else had the problem*

Fans spin, Lights on, Keyboard/mouse don,t get power, Monitor no signal the guy said he sorted it out himselfI have read the step-by-step on motherboard not posting.QUOTE from the guy * I have tried booting with one RAM stick, reseating the CPU 8-pin power and the 24-pin power, made sure the CPU fan is in the CPU fan header, and I just did the CMOS battery in and out, nothing.*Then he said FIXED.

*Took out CPU and cooler and reseated it, all works now.*that is all a pain in the neck to do all that. :(Its bad enough getting this far let along all that i will try the CMOS first.

Well, guess it's settled now - next build will feature (hopefully) an ABIT mainboard. Light yet still powerful, the IS7-E2 shall be a worthy opponent for my P4P800 and who knows, maybe the P4C800 too.

for one that has been tested working? o_O A guy in one of the videos said that 50% of boards will be brown bread.
he changed the CPU that was hiswas what sorted his no posting.

A few good comments for troubleshooting from Jay's video.
I would like to point out that even modern motherboards still allow for a speaker to be attached to the motherboard so you can hear the beep codes and get out your beep code bible to determine what is wrong with the computer without needing to swap parts. That's been a thing for over two decades now. Highly recommend you show case that in the future since they don't really ever include the speakers, but the header IS on the board!
Also swap that single ram stick once just to make sure you didn't pick "the one bad stick" that was preventing your boot. There's no reason to go through all 4, but give 2 a shot.
If you are going to get another CPU, make sure it is a 500 series Pentium 4 (520, 530, 540 or 550). Those should be supported by the original BIOS.

 I don't use eBay.
I have never had that before,i have never bought anything from the seller before.I am very confused.I have an issue with a chinise seller who sent me the wrong i/o shied.i asked him for a refund he said he would i thought he would just refund me,as it was his miss take anyway. He gave me his address but refused to send a label with the price of the postage .i went to the post office and they said it would cost neally the same price as the item.
But apart from that i have had no problems when buying stuff on there.

*The seller isn't accepting bids or offers from you*o_OI have no idea why i have got that message.I don,t recognise the seller o_O Anyone else ha that message before on eBay?

That is a message you will see if you have zero or negative feedback and the seller has enabled the "No zero or negative feedback buyers" limitation option, they blocked selling to your area or they just flatout blocked you. You'll have to find someone else to buy from.

Oh i see ,i have never sold anything on there ,but have been on there fot years. And never got that mesage before,It was less than £2.00.Thanks for explaining that.I will have to leave the CPU out for the NEO £5 for the cheapest Pentum 4 530 but only £1.65 from the seller who is not lettting me buy from them.I only want to pay up to £3 for one as the chances are it want make the Neo board work.Where as the E7400 only cost £1.80.

I would advise against using these coolers, or at least do a very close inspection.
I had one that had cracks where you see the segment boundaries. And when there are cracks, there is no heat transfer.
I happend to see the cracks because they where at the surface, but I suspect these cracks can also form inside the cooler, preventing the heat to reach the cooling fins.
