Its done. The Phanteks case, although similar in design to the Evolv X, the quality of construction and materials isn't the same. Thinner steel, especially on the side panel feels cheap and complains when you knock against it. Gonna need some sound damp on it. No fan hub either, or fans (which is fine and why I chose this case, I always use my own). The rest was fine, if not exciting. Nice case overall.

I’m using this https://www.quietpc.com/apml-2l4
Sheet.jpg

This product is one sheet of AcoustiPack ML (multi-layer) 2-layer 4mm soundproofing material, dimensions 431 x 457mm (17” x 18”).

The delivery/tax is pricey but top notch material. 4mm is perfect. They sell 7 or 12 but not ideal for a computer case.

That's it? A photo of the box? The phone, show us the phone!!

He needed the new phone to take a pic of the box... :D

A mirror pic would be an option..
Or a pic with the old phone..

The Color looks under Bad Light on Photos only like Dirty - because only some Color Sparkles will Glitter. Its difficult to describe... but Pantone Black Beauty is a Color with glittering Sparkles. It looks cool and nice in the Hands and Reallife. Its a Special Color choosen by Motorola and Pantone. The other Colors of the Edge 40 Neo should have such Effects too. Look on the fullsize Photos.

I've made some more Photos:

Man, when I was in art school, pantone color chips were the sh!t and uber expensive, like hundreds for the smallest kit I could get and thousands for the more complete sets that I would never own. Im betting the fact that it says Pantone Black on it alone is worth like an extra hundred, am I right? Cool looking phone though.

MECO energy meter - basically a Kill-A-Watt meter with a different name.
Numbers are my system power consumption, as follows: idle (desktop), sleep mode, single core and multicore on Cinebench, FurMark only, multicore Cinebench + FurMark (for max power consumption).
Really puts into perspective the importance of having sleep mode set, huh?

Edit: it turns out that even if you turn the system off, the meter still shows 2.3W consumption. So if that 2.3 is something like the "lower limit" of the meter and can be treated like an offset, the consumption on sleep mode is just 0.6W! This was a wrong assumption on my end, see next post.

By turn the system off do you mean its PSU switch is off, or just your OS shut down? If the latter, that's standby consumption.

Shut down. You may be right - I'll try turning the PSU off and drain capacitors and see if it goes to zero.
Edit: it goes to zero if the PSU is turned off using the switch.

That means the difference from standby to sleep is roughly 0.6W. Interesting.

I did a little down sizing yesterday from ATX to Micro-ATX and gonna find another case soon too maybe the Asus Prime AP201 in White not 100% sure yet.

20240118_164941.jpg

I am 100% happy now running the latest bios and my computer now boots like a 1000times faster than my Asus Prime X670-P WiFi.

I have to give ASRock prompt for their driver installer it only asked me twice and now it doesn't, not sure where to disable it in the bios did look around didn't really see but it's much better than Asus' solution which is forcing itself.

This is your PSU's vampire power, which is actually quite high for today's standards. Modern quality models consume 0.25 W or even less on standby.

Not only PSU vampire power, if the motherboard hooked up has USB ports enabled to charge even with the PC off, or anything else consuming marginal power. It adds up.

I want to know everything about that MX 518(is it!?) and it's story! Please oh pretty please!?
Well, what could I say?

-tried my uncle's MX510 back in 2004/2005, liked it, felt like it was made for my teen-hand
-bought a MX518 in 2005
-it had issues in 2006, RMA'd it, didn't got a new as its manufacturing was stopped; got refund as cash
-ff few years, bought a G400
-had problems, refunded it, got a G400s in return
-used it for 7½ years
-saw a MX518 remake for 20EUR, bought that
-got now an OG MX518 once again

I'll refurb that OG MX518 and I'll use it with my laptop. And now almost a 33yo dude, that design of MX500 (the OG mouse of that design) still feels perfect for my hand. The closer thumb button is for reloading a gun, the further is for throwing a grenade, at least in FPS games even this day. :)

edit: the almost-10yr-old G400s still works like new, its on my 2nd PC. Just its surface has seen better days but otherwise works hella fine.

I have rF2, AC,ACC, couple of more simcade GriDs, DiRTs, Forza Motorsport, etc. I used to sim race for years with Sim Junkies.
Honestly I’m usually playimg ATS amd ETS2 hence my main use of the shifter but I use it in any car/game it’s applicable for immersion. That’s near 3K of gear.

I believe that‘s a G5 I had one so,pretty sure

I have rF2, AC,ACC, couple of more simcade GriDs, DiRTs, Forza Motorsport, etc. I used to sim race for years with Sim Junkies.
Honestly I’m usually playimg ATS amd ETS2 hence my main use of the shifter but I use it in any car/game it’s applicable for immersion. That’s near 3K of gear.
Here are my 2 cents. I have all of the Games you mention in my library. I am not even using a Steering Wheel. The moment I started playing this it brought me right back to Gran Turismo. The racing is super intense in this Game and there is no wall. The moment I bought the Game I was using the BMW LMDH and racing just the AI. Started a 6 race Champ. I actually won a race at Kaylami but finished last in class at Donnington. We are now at Bathurst and I have the 5th fastest time in Practice. Who does practice in a Racing Game anymore? I already stated in another post that I had come to be bored with Forza 8. I played the Demo for this on Wednesday. Bought the Game on Thursday and the DLC package on Friday. To bring this back to latest tech purchase. I know that I will be buying a wheel to play this. My birthday seems like a great time to jump in. That shifter is supposed to be the cat's meow, is it really that good?

Zero complaints so far just getting used to the shift pattern after decades of Logitech. Day or 2 trucking with it to get the muscle memory than I will take it to the track.
Edit: Actually I should include something math early reviews left out or actually didn’t have are the awesome stick on rubber “bumpers fthe gates so they don’t just bang on the gate.
