Radxa is a Chinese manufacturer of various Arm based devices and something of a minor competitor to the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The company has just launched its latest product which is called the ROCK 5 ITX. As the name implies, it's a Mini-ITX form factor motherboard, which in itself is rather unusual for Arm based hardware to start with. However, Radxa has designed the ROCK 5 ITX to be a NAS motherboard and this is the first time we've come across such a product, as most Arm based boards are either intended for hobby projects, software development or routers. This makes the ROCK 5 ITX quite unique, at least based on its form factor, as it'll be compatible with standard Mini-ITX chassis.

The SoC on the board is a Rockchip RK3588 which sports four Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. This is not exactly cutting edge, but should be plenty fast enough for a SATA drive based NAS. The board offers four SATA 6 Gbps connectors via an ASMedia ASM1164 controller, each with an individual power connector next to it. However, Radxa seems to have chosen to use fan-header type power connectors, which means it'll be hard to get replacement power cables. The board also has a PCIe 3.0 x2 M.2 slot for an NVMe drive. The OS boots from eMMC and Radxa supports its own Roobi OS which is Debian Linux based.

AMD's entry-level Radeon RX 7600 GPU launched last May—critical reception was lukewarm, and Team Red enthusiasts found more compelling "budget" options within the preceding RDNA 2 generation. AMD's board partners rolled out customized Radeon RX 7600 8 GB cards—as planned—but the reference design was a scarcity around launch time. As pointed out by TPU's resident graphics card reviewer extraordinaire, W1zzard, a "Made by AMD" (MBA) model was lined up for direct sale via official AMD online stores, "as well as through its board partners, with minimal re-branding." Plans were (apparently) scuppered by a discovery of 8-pin power cable insertion issues—review outlets informed AMD about these problems prior to launch.

According to a fresh VideoCardz report, AMD has started to offer its Radeon RX 7600 reference design through official European channels: "despite the initial promise of offering the RX 7600 directly to gamers through their webstore, AMD has struggled to generate significant interest in the card nearly a year after its launch. Furthermore, there hasn't been a substantial change in pricing, with the card still retailing at $269 (in the US). Turns out, the Radeon RX 7600 MBA is now available in Germany." Several European shop portals display prices of €295 (~$318) and €300 (~$324)—at the time of writing. Potential customers will have to weigh up the benefit of AMD's extra time spent on ironing out the reference design's past issues, versus market-tested + custom-cooled partner models.

GIGABYTE has augmented its EAGLE range of custom graphics card with a new white "ICE" design—the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer's website has been updated with four GeForce RTX 40 Series models that sport a striking white aesthetic. The modern day EAGLE custom cooling solutions usually pops up in a sober yet classy gray shade (with some lighter accents)—it seems that alternatives, ideal for all-white hardware build, will be arriving soon. GIGABYTE has not revealed any information regarding regional pricing, release date or a press release (at the time of writing). Four factory overclocked EAGLE ICE models are listed—starting at the bottom with a pale version of their existing RTX 4060 EAGLE OC 8 GB card, and reaching the ceiling with a white spin on their RTX 4070 Ti SUPER EAGLE OC 16 GB.

GIGABYTE has chosen to not produce an EAGLE graphics card that utilizes NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU, so an ICE version is unlikely to pop up in the immediate future. GIGABYTE's RTX 4080 SUPER AERO OC model seems to be the only option available in white—within their current (Ada Lovelace) AD103-400-A1 GPU product range. VideoCardz reckons that there is a high probability of EAGLE ICE (non-overclocked) graphics cards arriving after the initial launch of OC models.

Colorful has prepared a small selection of custom GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and GeForce RTX 4060 (non-Ti) graphics cards in celebration of the Chinese New Year (February 24). Its high-end iGame Series has been updated with "Loong Edition" models—all of these cards are overclocked straight out of the factory. The Chinese hardware manufacturer has produced an extensive portfolio of Intel Alchemist-based discrete solutions, so it is not surprising to see slightly revised designs being issued to tie-in with a significant multi-sport tournament.

Gunnir's Photon OC White Edition shroud has been updated with the official Asian Games emblem as well as wavy graphic patterns—their retail packaging shares similar revisions, giving off some very calming vibes. According to product listings on JD.com, the A750 8 GB model currently sells for 1699 RMB (~$232), while the range-topping A770 16 GB variant is available to pre-order at 2399 RMB (~$328). The latest Intel and Gunnir collaboration is not likely to reach Western shores—Team Blue's Chinese operation announced (last month) that it was the official graphics processor supplier for this month's Hangzhou Asian Games. An interesting system popped up on Geekbench Browser early this morning—on initial inspection the evaluated high-end PC was sporting hardware of 2021-vintage, but its graphics card was observed as an outlier. The Intel Core i9-12900K (Alder Lake-S) CPU was sitting on an MSI MPG Z690 Carbon WiFi mainboard, with 64 GB of DDR5 SDRAM (3990 MT/s). The benchmarked computer was running Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (64-bit) on a power saver (economizador) plan. According to the entry's OpenCL information section we are looking at an attached GPU device called "GFX1102 ID," the board name is revealed to be "AMD Radeon PRO W7600" with 8 GB of VRAM. This lower-end alternative to existing (RDNA 3) Radeon Pro models—W7900 (48 GB) and W7800 (32 GB)—could be nearing a public launch.

This information aligns the workstation-oriented card with AMD's Navi 33 GPU—the same GFX1102 designation appears within TPU's database entry (look at the Shader ISA (GFX11.0) graphics feature). The Compute Unit field refers to "Workgroup Processor/WGP" cluster, so the card features 32 Compute Units or 2048 Stream Processors, the same configuration as the RX 7600. The card is listed with 8 GB of memory, but it remains uncertain whether this model will support ECC (error correction), a feature found in the W7900/W7800 models. It's important to note that the W6600 did not utilize this type of memory."

USA retailer, Newegg, is currently running a sale on a couple of custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB graphics cards. The cheapest option is an MSI VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC model, available for an an-all-time low price of $334 (representing a nice 16% discount)—thanks to a promo code ("ZIPTECH") shaving off a further $45.60 from the sale price of $379.99. NVIDIA set an MSRP of $399.99 upon the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti's launch back in late May, generating plenty of ambivalence within the PC hardware enthusiast community. That pattern will likely repeat with next week's premiere of RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB variants—its recommended retail price is set at $499, with tricked out custom cards predicted to go beyond $550.

The insider source claims that the Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 PULSE graphics card will be sold for about $249 in that particular territory. Gigabyte's two Radeon RX 7600 cards (Gaming & Gaming OC) are likely set for a May 25 launch, according to a combination of official AMD material and rumors from the past week or two - the slightly beefier Radeon RX 7600 XT is rumored to arrive on the same day. Leaked embargo information from earlier on this week suggests that NVIDIA is launching its GeForce RTX 4060 Ti lineup at the end of May, so an almost direct clash between it and AMD's upcoming Radeon 7600 and 7600 XT cards is expected to occur during that time period.

A launch price of $450 is mooted, and the low-to-midrange RTX 4060 Ti is likely to sport NVIDIA's AD106 GPU (based on its Ada Lovelace graphics architecture). Previous leaks have indicated that this variant will be offered in an 8 GB VRAM configuration with a 128-bit memory interface, although TPU hardware archivist (T4C Fantasy) reckons that NVIDIA's board partners can opt for larger pools of video memory.

A retailer in Russia has released (possibly in error) catalog listings for four upcoming Palit branded GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card models. The board partner seems to be offering two sets of its Dual and StormX designs - in normal and overclocked variations - but all of these models share the bog standard VRAM allocation of 8 GB, paired with the usual 128-bit memory interface. Palit's Dual cooler design is currently available on its RTX 4070-based models, but the StormX cooling solution design has not been applied to any 40 series cards so far - the upcoming RTX 4060 Ti cards will debut a (likely) smaller StormX shroud, heatsink and fan combination.

Two years and a half into its storied career, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU has finally dropped below MSRP in one European territory. German customers will be stoked to jump on e-tailer CaseKing's new offer - ZOTAC's Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge LHR graphics card is currently available for 449 EUR (not counting additional fees), so a saving of 50 Euros from the recommended retail price (499 EUR/$499). 3DCenter seems to be the first hardware news outlet to report on an RTX 3070 GPU dropping under RRP. The RTX 3070 and 3060 Ti models have been best sellers for NVIDIA (and board partners) since late 2020, yet buyers have long complained about unreasonable asking prices, and semi-generous discounts have been very late in arriving - just in time for the succeeding model.

3DCenter has created an overview of the graphics card market in Germany and Austria, and its findings for May 2023 indicate a trend where: "GPU prices in Euros have consistently dropped by ~10% since the end of January, in single cases up to 20%." The overview places the RTX 3070 8 GB in a price bracket position between AMD's Radeon RX 6750XT 12 GB and RX 6800 16 GB (non-XT) SKUs, which brings recent marketing strategies to mind - Team Red thinks that their cards offer the buyer more VRAM for their money when cross examined with the competition.

NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060, expected to make for a twin-launch in May 2023, will come with 8 GB as the standard memory size. This was confirmed in screenshots of a leaked listing of an MSI pre-built gaming desktop. The upcoming MSI MAG Infinite S3 comes with GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 GPU options, both of which have been mentioned in the listing as featuring 8 GB of graphics memory. The CPU options span between the Intel Core i5-13400F and the i7-13700F. 16 GB (2x 8 GB) main memory, and 1 TB SSD are the other standard equipment.

An 8 GB memory size confirms the 128-bit memory interface of the "AD106" silicon the RTX 4060 series is expected to be based on. 8 GB would actually be a downgrade compared to the current RTX 3060, which offers 12 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit memory bus. To be fair, the RTX 3060 Ti gives you just 8 GB of memory (albeit over a 256-bit wide memory bus). With the "Ada" graphics architecture powering the RTX 40-series, NVIDIA has significantly redesigned the memory sub-system of the GPU, with greater design emphasis on large on-die caches, so the GPU relies less on discrete memory bandwidth.
