ASUS today unveiled the ROG Falchion, a wireless mechanical gaming keyboard that fits into the new "65%" form-factor that's smaller than TKL. The keyboard offers 68 keys, with macros and function keys making up the deficit compared to most TKL or standard 104 keyboards. It comes in variants based on the switch used, and ASUS offers Cherry MX switches, with RGB illuminated keycaps, and per-key color customization.

The ROG Falchion also provides what ASUS calls an "interactive touch panel," which is essentially a capacitive strip that can be used as a volume rocker or scroller. Its wireless credentials include "gaming grade" 2.4 GHz RF with 1 ms response time, and up to 400 hours of battery life (with RGB lighting off), on a full charge. ASUS includes a hard case with the keyboard to help you carry it around. The company didn't reveal pricing.

ASUS today announced Mini PC PN50, an ultra-compact computer that delivers powerful performance for a wide variety of home and business applications. Featuring the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile processors with Radeon Vega 7 graphics, and support for high-speed 3200 MHz DDR4 memory, Mini PC PN50 is ready to take on demanding workloads, yet its diminutive size takes up minimal space on a desk and makes it suited for applications where traditional PCs will not fit - from digital signage to home-theater setups.

Mini PC PN50 supports up to 8K resolution at 60 Hz or up to four displays simultaneously, with up to 4K resolution at 60 Hz, providing ultrarealistic visuals. It is also suitable for flexible business scenarios, with configurable port options. WiFi 6 (802.11ax) networking ensures stable, high-speed data transfers, even in crowded networking environments, and dual USB-C ports support data transfer and DisplayPort functionality over a single cable. HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology, Inc., today announced the release of new and updated speeds and capacities for HyperX Predator DDR4 RGB and HyperX FURY DDR4 RGB memory modules and kits. Featuring memory kits up 256 GB and speeds up to 4600MHz1, the Predator DDR4 RGB and FURY DDR4 RGB memory modules are designed to pass rigorous certification test procedures and are Intel XMP certified and AMD certified Ready for Ryzen.

HyperX Predator DDR4 delivers fast frequencies and low latencies with speeds up to 4800MHz1 and latencies from CL12 to CL19. Predator DDR4 utilizes a black aluminium heat spreader and matching black PCB to complement the look of the latest PC builds. Predator memory is available in 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB single modules and in kits of two, four, and eight.

ASUS today introduced the ROG Strix XG17AHP, a variant of the ROG Strix XG17AHPE 17.3-inch portable gaming monitor the company launched in January. The new XG17AHP includes an innovative new tripod stand. The feet of the stand fold outwards from the main stock, which is telescopic, and can extend in height. This lets you orient the display like a conventional desktop monitor, and not just like an iPad with its cover folded into a prism-like shape. The magnetic smart cover is still included in the package, so you even have that option.

These aside, the ROG Strix XG17AHP is identical to the ROG Strix XG17AHPE from January. It is a 17.3-inch 16:9 IPS display with Full HD resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, features VESA Adaptive Sync, and a non-glare surface. Since it's meant to be a portable gaming monitor that you pair with your gaming notebook, it packs a 7,800 mAh battery that can provide up to 3 hours of use on a full charge. A USB-C connector is used both for recharging as well as DisplayPort passthrough input; while the monitor also features a micro-HDMI input (cables included that convert this to a standard HDMI). A premium ESS Sabre DAC converts digital audio from the display inputs to high-quality audio for the display's internal speakers, or a 3.5 mm jack. ASUS also includes a pouch that lets you carry the display around. By itself, the display weighs about 1.06 kg (1.76 kg with the tripod stand).

ASUS today has added another monitor to their TUF lineup. The TUF Gaming VG27VQ monitor features a fast 27" VA panel ticking at 165 Hz refresh rates and 1 ms response time. The panel features a 1500R curvature so as to keep the edges of the panel at the same distance from your eyes as the center of it, which aids in immersion. Brightness stands at a respectable 400 nits (without VESA HDR 400 labeling), contrast ratio is set at 3000:1, and viewing angles are strong at 178º.

Technology-wise, the monitor packs ASUS' Extreme Low Motion Blur; ShadowBoost, which brightens dark scenes; flicker-free tech; as well as blue light filtering, should you so choose. I/O-wise, the monitor offers 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x DVI-D, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack. A pair of 2 W speakers is also included. The stand is adjustable via -5 to 26° tilt, -90 to 90° swivel and 120 mm height adjustment, and the monitor includes a standard VESA mount. No word on pricing at time of writing.

The gaming laptop market has grown significantly in recent years and ASUS ROG is capitalizing on this growth releasing several popular laptops across the entire price spectrum. ASUS claims to now hold the largest market share for any company in the gaming laptop segment with a global market share of 22.6 percent. This data was gathered in April 2020 and means that almost one in four gaming laptops purchased was an ASUS ROG model. This market success was likely thanks to their recent innovative devices such as the 300Hz Zephyrus S17 and the Ryzen 4000 Powered Zephyrus G14 which were both firsts in the gaming laptop market.

ASUS today announced that the new BIOS with AMD AGESA 1.0.0.2 update for X570 and B550 series motherboards are now available for download. While the existing BIOS support Ryzen 3000XT processors, the new BIOS optimize the performance of the latest AMD Ryzen 3000XT series processors (Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and Ryzen 5 3600XT). The UEFI BIOS updates are available from the respective motherboard support pages, and can be accessed via the ASUS Support website.

ASUS today introduced the RT-AX89X, a massive, arachnid-looking, high-end gaming router with no less than 8 antennae. Its WLAN component is as impressive as its wired networking one. On the WLAN side, you get an 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) set up with up to 4,804 Mbps over the 5 GHz band + up to 1,300 Mbps over the 2.4 GHz band, adding up to 6,104 Mbps in dual-band mode. Even over the older 802.11ac standard, the router offers up to 4,333 Mbps (5 GHz) + 1,000 Mbps (2.4 GHz). The WLAN component offers the latest security features, including WPA3-Personal and WPA2-Enterprise.

The wired networking setup of the ASUS RT-AX89X includes two 10 GbE uplinks, one 1 GbE WAN uplink, and eight 1 GbE LAN downlinks. The 10 GbE ports can be individually reconfigured as LAN downlinks. Also on offer are two 5 Gbps USB 3.1 type-A ports that can take in USB cellular Internet dongles, and USB mass-storage devices, such as flash drives, external storage devices, etc. The company didn't mention the router's signal strength in dBi, but rates it for "very large homes." The company didn't reveal pricing.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the release of new Electro Punk peripherals with a striking black-and-pink color scheme. First introduced in April, the Electro Punk colors can now be found on the ROG Strix Go 2.4 gaming headset, ROG Strix Scope TKL gaming keyboard, ROG Strix Impact II gaming mouse and other gaming and lifestyle accessories.

ROG Strix Go 2.4 Electro Punk is a USB-C 2.4 GHz wireless headset that enables stable, lag-free audio on smart devices, PC, Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox or Nintendo Switch (in Handheld mode). The Electro Punk edition features pink piping in and around the headband, ear pads, and ROG logo to give it that a special touch, while the rest stays bold black to prevent stains. Strix Go 2.4 has a detachable boom mic powered by AI Noise-Canceling technology that intelligently eliminates unwanted background noise for clear voice communication for work or play.

Here's possibly the first picture of an ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, which not only confirms NVIDIA's nomenclature for its next-generation GeForce RTX graphics cards, but also provides fascinating insights into the direction ASUS is taking with its next-generation ROG Strix graphics cards. The design language involves matte black metal surfaces accented by brushed metal elements that conceal more RGB LED elements. ASUS's Axial Tech fans do the heavy lifting along with a large aluminium fin-stack heatsink underneath. The mention of "RTX 3080 Ti" also casts a shadow of doubt over "RTX 3090" leading the lineup. We should learn more about what ASUS and NVIDIA have in store, as we inch closer to the September unveil of this series.

In addition to the Alan Walker variant of the ROG Zephyrus G14 notebook, ASUS announced the RT-AX55, a mid-range 802.11ax home router that's ready for Ai Mesh. The router offers 802.11ax at data-rates of up to 1201 Mbps over the 5 GHz band, up to 574 Mbps over the 2.4 GHz band (1.77 Gbps combined), 802.11ac at up to 867 Mbps, and 802.11n up to 300 Mbps; along with MU-MIMO support. Both its WAN uplink and 4-port downstream Ethernet are 1 GbE. The router also offers the latest WPA3-Personal and WPA2-Enterprise security, besides older WPA standards. The company didn't reveal pricing, but the RT-AX55 could command a 2-figure price.

ASUS today rolled out the VA27DQSB Eye Care Monitor, designed for multi-display setups in office environments, as you can stack these display along the sides and above, in a 1x3 or 2x3 configuration. The VA27DQSB is a 27-inch monitor with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, an IPS panel with 178°/178° viewing angles, 75 Hz refresh rate, VESA Adaptive Sync support, and TUV Rhienland-certified low blue-light and flicker-free brightness adjustments (uses a non-PWM method of dimming the LEDs). The included stand offers height adjustments by 150 mm, 90° rotation, tilt up to 35°, and sideways pivot, besides being detachable for use with VESA-compatible multi-monitor mounts. The company didn't reveal pricing.

The AMD B550 chipset isn't supposed to run 1st- and 2nd-generation AMD Ryzen processors, or even Ryzen 5 3400G and 3200G APUs based on the older "Zen+" microarchitecture. AMD specifically made a packaging badge that reflects this. The B550 chipset only supports 3rd gen Ryzen "Matisse," and is ready for upcoming "Renoir" and "Zen 3" based "Vermeer" processors, when they do come out.

Given this, imagine our surprise when someone with access to a B550 motherboard was able to run older processors on it. PC enthusiast 188 "momomo_us" posted screenshots of an ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus motherboard running "Zen+" based Ryzen 5 3400G APU based on the "Picasso" silicon, and Ryzen 5 2600X processor based on the "Pinnacle Ridge" silicon, complete with CPU-Z validations. The board is shown running BIOS version 0608 (dated 15/06/2020). There's nothing in the official change-log to indicate Zen+ support, nor in its CPU support list, and the CPU-Z screenshots don't reveal AGESA version in the BIOS version string. An impressive feat nonetheless. We still can't recommend taking the risk of buying B550 motherboards with older processors. Find the CPU-Z validation for the 3400G+B550 and 2600X+B550.

Bitspower today introduced its Mono Block for ASUS ROG Maximus XII Hero, and its Wi-Fi variant. The monoblock provides liquid cooling for both the LGA1200 socket and the CPU VRM of the board. The block's main coolant chamber passes not only through a micro-fin lattice over the CPU socket area, but also over the CPU VRM area. The Bitspower Mono Block uses nickel-plated copper as its primary material, with a clear acrylic top that's studded with addressable RGB LEDs. The contact areas feature a mirror finish. A single 3-pin ARGB connection lights them all up. The Mono Block measures 141 mm x 115 mm x 27.5 mm (LxWxH), and features standard G1/4" threading for your own fittings. Available now, it is priced at USD $210.

ASUS today introduced the ZenScreen MB14AC, part of the company's growing line of portable monitors. Unlike the ROG Strix ZXG17AHP, the ZenScreen is targeted more toward the portable mainstream. The MB14AC is a downscale of the MB16ACE from 2019, and a 14-inch 16:9 screen offering Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, using an IPS panel. A single USB-C connection provides both power and display from your notebook to the ZenScreen (it uses a DisplayLink USB video adapter of its own). It also accepts DisplayPort TMDS signals from the USB-C connector, if found. Other display specs include 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, 700:1 static contrast ratio, and 178° H/V viewing angles. The company didn't mention pricing.

ASUS today unveiled the ProArt Display PA32UCX-PK professional monitor. This 32-inch 4K UHD monitor features Off-Axis Contrast Optimization, and is targeted specifically at professionals working on HDR content. It offers an IPS panel with 1,152-zone dimming Mini LED illumination, 1,200 nits maximum brightness, DisplayHDR 1000 certification, 1,000,000:1 native contrast ratio (not dynamic contrast ratio), and certification for Dolby Vision, HDR-10, and HLG. Among its color reproduction chops include ΔE < 1, 99% DCI-P3, 99.5% Adobe RGB, and 100% sRGB/Rec. 709. Inputs include Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.2, and HDMI 2.0. The company didn't reveal pricing.

ASUS today announced ROG Strix B550-A Gaming and TUF Gaming B550-Plus (Wi‑Fi), the latest additions to the ever-growing ASUS B550 motherboard lineup designed for 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen desktop processors. The new arrivals feature WiFi 6, 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, robust power delivery, high-frequency RAM compatibility, BIOS FlashBack and AI Noise‑Canceling Microphone (AI Mic) technology. The latter works by applying advanced filters to ensure background noise is cleanly filtered out.

ASUS also announced that ROG Strix B550‑I Gaming set a new DDR4 memory overclocking record, pushing the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen 5 3600x processor to an astounding 6068 MHz. Extreme overclocking aside, ASUS B550 motherboards support next generation AMD Ryzen PRO, pushing DDR4 memory frequencies to up to 5100 MHz (O.C).

ASUS is giving finishing touches to the PN50 line of mini PCs (desktops) powered by AMD Ryzen 4000 "Renoir-U" APUs. Under the hood, these 115 mm x 115 mm x 49 mm boxes feature processor options ranging from the Ryzen 3 4300U all the way up to the Ryzen 7 4800U, an 8-core/16-thread beast, along with storage options that include up to 64 GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory, M.2 NVMe SSDs, 802.11ax networking, and 10 Gbps USB 3.2 ports. Swedish retailer Inet listed a few variants. The model powered by the 4300U is listed at the equivalent of $326, the one powered by the 4500U at $335, the one with the 4700U at $386, and the one with the 4800U at $506.

ASUS today announced a new partnership with Light Illusion, who specializes in critical color management for the film, post-production and broadcast industries. Through the partnership, ASUS ProArt displays now feature integration with ColourSpace CMS, a software calibration system that connects to a wide variety of display calibration probes to correctly assess display color rendition, providing advanced and precise SDR and HDR calibration for ultimate color accuracy.

The latest ASUS ProArt PA32UCX, PA32UCX-P and PA27UCX displays are the first to support Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS for SDR and HDR calibration, offering support for the Rec. 709, DCI-P3, DCI P3 D65 and Rec. 2020 color spaces, as well as ST2084 and HLG multiple-HDR-format for HDR hardware calibration. ColourSpace CMS is used in display calibration and color management in the professional media industry and is compatible with most major calibrators, including those from Colorimetry Research, X-Rite, Datacolor and Klein.
