ASUS Announces the the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 Tri-Band WiFi 7 Gaming Router

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 tri-band WiFi 7 gaming router at Computex 2024. This next-generation powerhouse is designed to dominate gaming and computing experiences with ultra-fast tri-band WiFi 7 speeds of up to 19 Gbps, innovative features like Automatic Frequency Coordination, and comprehensive wired and wireless network functions.

The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 router boasts ultra-fast wireless speeds of up to 19 Gbps, thanks to innovative WiFi 7 features like 320 MHz channels, 4096-QAM, and Multi-Link Operation. It is the world's first gaming router with Automatic Frequency Coordination. AFC automatically checks the WiFi environment and chooses the least congested channel in the 6 GHz band, boosting peak transmit power by up to 63 times higher than Low Power Indoor networking devices. The GT-BE19000 also provides up to 31 Gbps of wired capacity, including dual 10 Gb Ethernet and quad 2.5 Gb Ethernet ports, ensuring strong, stable connections for building a robust local network in the new era of AI.

ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero "Arrow Lake" Motherboard Pictured

Intel Socket LGA1851 will be the new infrastructure driving at least the next two generations of Intel desktop processors, and the new Core Ultra "Arrow Lake-S" will be the first processor generation to use it. These chips pack new "Lion Cove" P-cores, "Skymont" E-cores, an updated PCIe Gen 5 I/O, and new Xe2 "Battlemage" integrated graphics; with generational performance leaps to be had. At the ASUS Computex 2024 booth, we spotted some of the company's first high-end gaming PC motherboards for the platform, based on what could be the Intel Z890 chipset.

Our first find is the ROG Maximus Z890 Hero, or at least a variant of it featuring the ASUS BTF backside I/O connectivity. There will be a regular variant with conventional front-facing I/O, too. The LGA1851 socket looks almost identical to the LGA1700. In fact the two have the same physical dimensions, and are cooler compatible—your LGA1700-compatible coolers will work on LGA1851 motherboards. Intel added to the pin-count by tweaking the pin pitch, and reducing the size of the "courtyard" (the central void in the land grid meant for SMDs). LGA1851 is a pure-DDR5 platform, and has more PCIe Gen 5 connectivity than LGA1700, such as CPU-attached Gen 5 NVMe slots that don't subtract lanes from the x16 PEG slot. The ROG Maximus Hero appears to be a feature-packed motherboard geared for CPU overclocking, as well as connectivity galore. It also comes with Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, USB4, 5 GbE, and next-generation SupremeFX onboard audio.

At Computex 2024, ASUS unveiled major updates to its popular laptop lineups, designed for the "Copilot+" era of AI computing. The first is the Zenbook S16 is a premium 16-inch laptop series powered by AMD's latest Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processors with dedicated AI acceleration. ASUS TUF Gaming Laptops Spotted with AMD Ryzen AI 9 CPUs and NVIDIA RTX 4000 GPUs

Two new ASUS TUF series laptop models (TUF A14 and TUF A16) come out of the dark at Computex, making use of AMD Ryzen AI 9 CPUs and NVIDIA RTX 4000 GPUs. The ultraslim chassis of ASUS TUF Gaming A14 weighs merely 1.46 kg with a thickness of 1.69 cm, and features a 14" 16:10 up to 2.5K 165 Hz @ 3 ms 400 nits display with NVIDIA G-Sync support. Powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with 50 TOPS NPU, and with another hefty helping hand from NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU with 233 TOP of AI performance, dual-channel LPDDR5X RAM, a 73 Whr battery, and 2x M2.2280 SSD slots makes it an interesting option for gamers looking after a light and thin laptop.

The bigger brother, TUF A16 have the same AMD Ryzen 9 CPU but comes with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with 321 TOPS, a 16" 100% sRGB display with 90% screen-to-body ratio, dual-channel LPDDR5X 7500 MHz memory, USB 4.0 ports, and dual 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans with full-width heatsink (170 W combined max wattage).

ASUS Superslim Vivobook S Series Updated with Latest AMD Ryzen AI 9, Intel Core Ultra 9 and Snapdragon X Elite Processors

ASUS presented updated versions of its Vivobook S super slim laptops, the highest specs for each of them featuring the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, Intel Core Ultra 9, and Snapdragon X Elite processors making sure it covers all possible user preferences. Of course, as now the trend is AI, all Vivobook S 14, S 15, and S16 models have a Copilot key while keeping the same sleek, light, and thin design. Vivobook S 14 is up to 1.3 kg light and 13.9 mm thin, the S 15 starts at 1.42 kg and 14.7 mm thin, while the bigger Vivobook S 16 starts with 1.5 kg weight and 13.9 mm height.

The display is a 3K (3.2K for S 16) 120 Hz 16:10 OLED offering vivid and accurate colors. The battery is rated at 75 Wh with a side note on the Vivobook S 15 model powered by Snapdragon that offers over 18 hours of battery life. Worth mentioning the use of ASUS IceCool Thermal Technology with dual fans (S 16 sporting also dual vents). These newly launched Vivobook S models come with Windows 11 Home, feature RGB ErgoSense keyboard and touchpad with ASUS Smart Gesture control, up to 32 GB RAM (up to 16 GB RAM for S 14 with Intel Core Ultra 9), up to 1 TB PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD internal storage, full I/O ports, an audio jack, and MicroSD card reader.

ASUS Showcased ROG Delta II Gaming Headset at Computex

The new ASUS ROG Delta II gaming headset was easily spotted on display at Computex since it features "almost" the same design that gamers worldwide know from the popular ROG Delta series. However, things look exciting if we go into details because ASUS promises that this new gaming headset will offer us "incredible audio immersion" via its 50 mm titanium-plated diaphragm drivers, and refined wireless sound with powerful deep bass and clear, crisp highs.

Connectivity-wise, it offers anything we need, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz (ROG SpeedNova wireless technology with ultra-low latency), and 3.5 mm wired, while the battery life tops at 110 hours (with RGB lightning off). A more than useful addition to ROG Delta II gaming headset is the DualFlow Audio technology that allows users to simultaneously listen to audio sources from two connected 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth devices, or switch between in-game conversation and mobile calls. ROG Delta II weights 315 grams, features a detachable 10 mm super-wideband microphone, and comes with two types of ear cushions. ASUS ROG Delta II will be available from Q3 2024.

Compact ROG Azoth Extreme Gaming Keyboard Presented by ASUS at Computex

ASUS seems to tease gamers with "extremes", this being the case for its new ROG Azoth Extreme gaming keyboard that will hit the shelves later this year. Featuring, under an aluminium alloy compact-size chassis with a metal frame a full-color OLED touchscreen, a carbon fiber positioning plate (better typing feel, acoustics and reduced keystroke vibrations), extended silicone wrist rest, magnetic feet, an adjustable gasket mount, this new addition to the ROG Azoth series possesses interesting qualities for gamers looking to get the best action.

The OLED touchscreen should not fool anyone, it is tiny but still perfectly capable to display system info or let gamers customize keyboard settings with the built-in three-way knob for instant adjustments. ASUS ROG Azoth Extreme gaming keyboard makes use of proprietary ASUS SpeedNova technology offering tri-mode connectivity (2.4 GHz RF, Bluetooth, Wired). The product will be available from Q3 2024 to complement the ASUS ROG Extreme family.

It uses a top shell made of carbon fiber composite, currently the strongest material of all gaming mice on the market. This makes the mouse more durable and less heavy, weighing only 47 grams. Underneath the carbon fiber shell, it sports a 42K DPI ROG AimPoint Pro optical sensor, ROG Optical Micro Switches, and ROG SpeedNova wireless technology.

Moreover, ASUS claims that ROG Harpe Ace Extreme gaming mouse sets new click latency records thanks to ROG Polling Rate Booster technology being able to impressive rates such as 0.86 ms @ 1000 Hz, 0.7 ms @ 2000 Hz, 0.6 ms @ 4000 Hz, and 0.45 ms @ 8000 Hz. To improve movements we have two large mouse feet that are made out of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A switch to select connectivity mode (Bluetooth, USB, Wireless), DPI, and pairing button are found on the mouse base. ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Extreme is expected to hit the markets in Q3 2024, no words about retail price yet.

ASUS Announces the ROG Ally X: Improved Performance, Ergonomics, and Battery Life

ASUS today announced the ROG Ally X, its ambitious new handheld game console that's a step up from the ROG Ally that the company launched last year. The ROG Ally X is powered by the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor as the ROG Ally, but with 50% more unified memory—now up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X-7500, which runs at an 18% higher speed than the 16 GB LPDDR5-6400 of the original. The designers also implemented an M.2-2280 NVMe SSD slot, which opens the console up to the widest possible selection of NVMe SSDs. The console includes a 1 TB drive, which is double that of the 500 GB that the ROG Ally comes with. The company has also significantly upgraded the thermal solution of the console with a larger fan, and better thermal venting, which offers 6°C lower gaming temperatures.

Perhaps the biggest feature upgrade is the battery, which is 80 Wh, a 100% increase from the 40 Wh of the original ROG Ally. This may not be a linear 100% increase in battery life from the ROG Ally (due to the various hardware upgrades), but should still pose significant improvements to it. Other hardware updates include USB4, which includes DisplayPort passthrough from the iGPU; besides a separate USB 3.2 Gen 2 type-C. The console supports USB-PD with 140 W fast-charging, and is paired with a first-party GaN-based 140 W fast-charger. Dimensions are similar to those of the ROG Ally, except for 4 mm added thickness, and 70 g added weight (608 g vs. 678 g). Available from July, the ROG Ally X is priced at $799, and includes a 3-month Xbox Game Pass. We went hands on with the console at ASUS's pre-Computex event. ASUS Extends ROG Ally Warranty to 2-year in North America

ASUS announced that it has extended the warranty of its ROG Ally handheld game console (model: RC71L) in North America to 2 years. This would prove particularly useful for those intending to use the microSD card slot of the console, as a design oversight sees the card reader located too close to a thermal vent, and is known to cause memory cards to fail, and eventually even the card reader to. This extended warranty protects against failed card readers, but it doesn't cover fried memory cards. ASUS has since corrected the design in its new ROG Ally X game console.

ASUS Intros NUC 14 Performance Powered by Core Ultra 9 185H and GeForce RTX 4070

ASUS today introduced the NUC 14 Performance, which as its name suggests, is geared for performance. This is essentially a twin of the ROG NUC, but without the flashy ROG styling, and a broader range of hardware options. The top-spec NUC 14 Performance combines an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H "Meteor Lake" processor, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 desktop GPU, however other processor and graphics options include the Core Ultra 7 155H processor, and RTX 4060 desktop GPU. You can't opt out of a discrete GPU, for that you'll need to opt for the NUC 14 Pro+, which only packs a Core Ultra 185H, and presents its Arc iGPU, but the I/O of that NUC will be significantly different.

Back to the ASUS NUC 14 Performance, and the box measures 270 mm X 180 mm X 50 mm (WxDxH), weighing just 800 g. You're supposed to add your own memory and storage, the NUC features two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory; and an M.2-2280 slot with PCIe Gen 4 x4 wiring. Network connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3; 2.5 GbE wired LAN. The main high-bandwidth I/O connection is Thunderbolt 4 (40 Gbps), which doubles up as USB4 40 Gbps, with a USB-C port that also supports DisplayPort 1.4 passthrough from the discrete GPU; a couple of 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, USB 2.0 ports for input devices, additional DP 1.4 ports from the GPU, and an HDMI 2.1. The NUC 14 Performance comes with a 330 W power brick. The company didn't reveal pricing, but pricing is expected in the USD $2,200 to $2,500 range.

ASUS ROG Ally X Specs Confirmed: 24GB LPDDR5X-7500, M.2-2280, and 80Wh Battery

The specs sheet of the upcoming ASUS ROG Ally X handheld game console was leaked to the web, confirming many of the rumors that have been doing rounds for the past month. The Ally X is a definite step up from the ROG Ally Extreme. It was originally rumored to be just a design revision that relocates the microSD card slot away from a thermal vent on the original design, which was causing memory cards to fail. The specs sheet confirms that the ROG Ally X features a larger M.2 drive bay with support for M.2-2280 drives. You'll be spoiled for choice picking a drive to go with this device. The drive included is 1 TB—double the 500 GB of the original ROG Ally.

Next up, there had been rumors of a significantly larger battery, but we didn't have an exact capacity figure, until now. It turns out, that the ROG Ally X packs a massive 80 Wh battery, which works toward a roughly 40% battery life improvement. While the CPU is the same Ryzen Z1 Extreme, ASUS improved the memory, which is now 24 GB LPDDR5X-7500, compared to 16 GB LPDDR5-6400 on the ROG Ally Extreme. This is a 50% increase in memory size, and 17% increase in memory bandwidth. Lastly, ASUS is introducing USB4 type-C, with integrated DisplayPort 1.4 and PD 3.0 output.

ASUS Launches Glossy 1440p WOLED Gaming Monitor

Today is a good day for those of you that have wanted a glossy OLED gaming monitor, as ASUS has launched the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG, which is a glossy WOLED gaming monitor. The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG sports a 2560 x 1440 pixel WOLED display with a 240 Hz refresh rate and a 0.03 ms grey to grey response time. ASUS also claims up to 20 percent brighter image in SDR mode and deeper black hues under any lighting conditions, quite something to live up to. On the more technical side, the panel is said to offer a 1.5 million to one contrast ratio, support for 99 percent of the DCI-P3 colour space or 135 percent of the RGB colour space and it's should also have 10-bit colour support.

Connectivity wise, there will be disappointing sights from some, as the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG relies on a single DP 1.4 with DSC and a pair of HDMI 2.0 ports for video inputs, which means the HDMI ports are limited to 144 Hz. It also only has two USB 3.2 Gen 1 5 Gbps ports and no USB Type-C input, although there's a headphone jack for those that want to use that. Other features include FreeSync Premium and G-Sync Compatible support, as well as ASUS' trace free technology, GamePlus, shadow boost and OLED care. No word on official pricing at this point in time, but it's non-glossy counterpart retails for US$900.

Update May 21st: ASUS has announced the offical pricing for the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG and the MSRP is US$699, which makes it around US$200 cheaper than its non-glossy counterpart. It'll go on sale from the 30th of May.

The system is suitable for edge computing and IoT gateway solutions, especially in scenarios with there is limited space. Furthermore, the benefits that come with fanless heat dissipation, such as low noise and protection against dust, will appeal to customers in both the digital signage and industrial markets.

The system retains many of the I/O features of its board counterparts, including multiple high-speed interfaces for industrial-grade performance. Two LAN ports, operating at both 2.5GbE and GbE speeds, are conveniently grouped together with two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and one HDMI 1.4b port for easy interface access during operation.

ASUS Leaks its own Snapdragon X Elite Notebook

Courtesy of ASUS Vietnam (via @rquandt on X/Twitter), we now have an idea of what ASUS' first Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite notebook will look like, but also what the main specifications are. It will share the Vivobook S 15 OLED branding with other notebooks from ASUS, although the leaked model carries the model number S5507QA-MA089WS. At its core is a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 SoC which is the base model from Qualcomm. The SoC consists of 12 Oryon cores, of which eight are performance cores and four are energy efficient cores. A peak, multi-threaded clock speed of 3.4 GHz and 42 MB of cache, as well as a 75 TOPs AI engine rounds off the SoC specs. The SoC is also home to a Qualcomm Adreno GPU, but so far Qualcomm hasn't released any useful specs about the GPU in the Snapdragon X Elite series of chips.

ASUS has paired the SoC with 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory of an unknown clock speed, although Qualcomm officially supports speed of up to 8,448 MT/s in a to PC users unusual configuration of eight channels at 16-bit wide, for a bandwidth of up to 135 GB/s. For comparison, Intel's latest Core Ultra processors max out at LPDDR5X 7,467 MT/s and up to 120 GB/s memory bandwidth. Other features include a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, a glossy 15.6-inch 2,880 x 1,620 resolution, 120 Hz OLED display with 600 nits peak brightness and a 70 WHr battery. It's unclear what connectivity options will be on offer, but judging by the screenshot below, we can at least expect an HDMI out as well as a pair of USB Type-C ports, a micro SD card slot and a headphone jack. As far as pricing goes, Roland Quandt is suggesting a €1,500 base price on X/Twitter, but we'll have to wait for the official launch to find out what these Arm based laptops will retail for. ASUS ROG Ally X Gets a Memory Upgrade to 24 GB

The ROG Ally X handheld gaming console ASUS plans to unveil on June 2, has not just a fixed microSD card slot, and a 40% larger battery, but also an upgraded main memory, MysteryLupin, a reliable source with ASUS leaks, reports. The console features 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory, compared to 16 GB on the regular ROG Ally with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme. The larger battery should give it usage of up to 8 hours on a full charge, while the larger memory should definitely improve performance, given that the SoC is the same Z1 Extreme ASUS uses in the regular ROG Ally. Besides the larger memory and battery, the console features an industry standard M.2-2280 NVMe SSD drive bay, with a pre-installed 1 TB SSD. This should open users up to the widest possible range of SSD upgrades. ASUS is reportedly pricing the ROG Ally X at $799, a $100 increase over the original ROG Ally with the Z1 Extreme—a premium that's actually shaping up to be good value.

ASUS Intros Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT DUAL OC Graphics Cards

ASUS introduced the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT DUAL OC graphics cards. The two join ASUS's rather slim RX 7900 series custom-design lineup, which until now only included the TUF Gaming OC products for the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX. ASUS's common board design for the cards it's launching, features a large cooler shroud, a tall, yet triple-slot board design, and a cooling solution that uses an aluminium fin-stack heatsink that uses no more than two Axial-Tech fans, hence the name DUAL OC. We've seen this exact board design on some of the RTX 30-series "Ampere" DUAL OC products, so ASUS may probably be carrying over the design, with suitable changes for compatibility with the "Navi 31" GPU.

Both the RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT DUAL OC cards feature a milder factory overclock compared to the company's TUF Gaming OC products. The RX 7900 XTX DUAL OC does 2455 MHz Game clock (compared to 2365 MHz reference); while the RX 7900 XT DUAL OC offers 2075 MHz Game clocks compared to 2025 MHz AMD reference. It's also interesting to note here, that the RX 7900 XTX/XT DUAL OC cards feature a significantly different board design than the RX 7900 GRE DUAL OC, which features a design closer to that of the RX 7800 XT DUAL OC. Both the RX 7900 XT DUAL OC and RX 7900 XTX DUAL OC feature triple 8-pin PCIe power connectors, and display I/O that includes three DisplayPort 2.1, and one HDMI 2.1. Besides the minimal RGB, the cards offer dual-BIOS, with the Q-BIOS running them at reference speeds, and with a tighter fan curve. The card measures 32.3 cm in length, 14.7 cm in height, and is no more than 3 slots thick. The company didn't reveal pricing.

ASUS today announced TUF Gaming TR120 ARGB case fans, which offer exceptional airflow and polished aesthetics from every point of view. Next-gen refinements boost the cooling power of TUF Gaming TR120 ARGB fans. The redesigned fan blades are extra-wide, and are now housed in a 28 mm frame - up to 12% thicker than the previous generation. Combined, these elements increase airflow by up to 77.4 CFM and static pressure by up to 3.3 mmH2O. When dialing in a tough workload, these 120 mm fans make sure that a build has the steady stream of cooling air that it needs.

TUF Gaming TR120 ARGB case fans are primed to perform, and they're also built for quiet operation. At most, they produce 29 dB(A) of noise. In the heat of battle, users are unlikely to hear them at all. When standard case fans are used as intakes in a panoramic chassis, they are not always displayed to advantage, as users can only see their sides and rear. This means that elements like structural supports, wires, and visible parts of the motor get the front-and-center treatment instead of RGB LED illumination and any front-facing decorations.

Shipments of OLED Monitors Hit 200,000 Units in 1Q24, Annual Forecast to Reach 1.34 Million

TrendForce's latest report reveals a robust start to 2024 for OLED monitors, with shipments reaching approximately 200,000 units in the first quarter—marking a YoY growth of 121%. The momentum is expected to continue into the second quarter, which is set to see quarterly growth of 52% as new models hit the market, bringing the total for the first half to 500,000 units. With brands ramping up investments and panel makers launching new products alongside aggressive promotions, annual shipments are projected to soar to 1.34 million units, achieving an impressive 161% growth rate.

Samsung leads the market share in the first quarter with 36%, driven by strong sales of its 49-inch models which offer a significant cost-performance advantage—being only 20% more expensive than their LCD counterparts. Notably, Samsung's plan to introduce 27-inch and 31.5-inch models in Q2, which are expected to further boost its OLED shipments.
