Alphacool Showcases GPU Waterblocks for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090/5080 and AMD X870 Motherboard Monoblocks

Alphacool has unveiled new waterblocks for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 graphics cards at CES 2025. The company has redesigned its Core GPU waterblock series with updated component spacing and flow characteristics, developed through fluid dynamics simulations and practical testing. A change from previous water blocks for RTX 40 series includes the switch to chrome-plated copper cooling surfaces instead of nickel plating, which offers improved durability and surface finish. The waterblocks retain brass fittings and feature a Core emblem above the jetplate. The waterblocks will support cards from major manufacturers including ASUS, MSI, Palit, Gainward, and Inno3D. Specifically, compatibility extends to ASUS ROG Strix and TUF Gaming models, as well as MSI Suprim and Gaming variants. Both RTX 5090 and 5080 Core waterblocks are priced at €199.98.
Alongside the standard Core series, Alphacool has developed an ES (Enterprise Solutions) variant. These 1-slot waterblocks are designed for multi-GPU setups, featuring rear-oriented fittings to accommodate dense server and workstation configurations. The ES models are priced higher at €299.98. Each Core water block ships with a backplate, mounting hardware, thermal paste, and pre-cut thermal pads. The products will be available when the graphics cards launch on January 30, with some models offered for immediate purchase and others through pre-order.

Lastly, Alphacool has developed Apex 1 monoblock for integrated cooling for the CPU, voltage regulators, and PCIe slot above M.2 SSDs into a single cooling block. The design features direct contact with these components to minimize thermal resistance across the cooling path. Compatible with AM5 socket motherboards, including the ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi, ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi, ROG Strix X870-F Gaming WiFi, and GIGABYTE AORUS Elite WiFi 7 X870 ICE, each variant is specifically machined to match the component layout and mounting points of its target motherboard. The unified cooling approach eliminates the need for separate heatsinks while maintaining thermal control over multiple high-heat zones on modern motherboards.

Kinda sucks there's no photo of a finished setup using those products.

Given with FE there might be separate daughter board for the rear IO unlike past couple of generations finally it will be easier to make single slot liquid cooled GPUs.

I did my homework on the monoblocks, and I am shocked they did not do a monoblock for the Asus ROG STRIX X870-I GAMING WIFI.

Interesting design, I like it and the slimness of the block. Like others have said it looks like it could truly be a single slot solution. I would love to see some tests with this.
