EK's Latest AIO: Pump, Reservoir, & Dual 120 mm Radiators in One Package

EK Water Blocks showed us an exciting solution at their Computex 2025 booth, with the unveiling of its Quantum Surface Kinetics 240, an all-in-one liquid‐cooling kit that marries two 120 mm Quantum Surface radiators with the company's signature Quantum Kinetic pump-and-reservoir module. The dual‐radiator array leverages a thin, high‐density micro-fin design to allow for ample heat dissipation while remaining just 30 mm thick—ideal for cramped mid-tower builds or even ITX systems. At the heart of the loop sits EK's Quantum Kinetic DDC pump and reservoir combo, now showcased in a newly refined, transparent acrylic housing. The integrated fill port and machined aluminium top cap feature customizable RGB channels, while the visible coolant pathways highlight EK's precision flow engineering. EK has pegged the Quantum Surface Kinetics 240 at an MSRP of $360. While not being like a traditional AIO design, it will allow PC enthusiasts to get much more creative with their water-cooling setups and both and reduce the setup difficulty of custom loops.

Custom Water Block Drops NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU Temperatures Down by 30°C

German overclocking specialist Der8auer has showcased a custom water block for NVIDIA's flagship RTX 5090 Founders Edition, achieving a remarkable 30-degree Celsius reduction in core GPU temperatures. The prototype copper cooling solution demonstrated peak operating temperatures of just 43.8°C, compared to the stock cooler's 73.8°C under identical testing conditions. The design features an all-copper construction with a substantial 14 mm-thick cold plate, engineered specifically for optimal thermal transfer from the GB202 die. While maintaining the dual-slot form factor of the original Founders Edition cooler, the water block incorporates multiple cooling channels beneath a transparent top panel that reveals the coolant flow.

Memory temperatures also significantly improved, dropping by 38 degrees Celsius below stock measurements. Despite its impressive thermal performance, the prototype faces several engineering challenges. The team was constrained by the graphics card's display output ribbon cable, which prevented a more compact design closer to the actual PCB dimensions. Additionally, the Founders Edition card's unique split PCIe finger design presented structural concerns that require additional reinforcement before any potential commercial release. Der8auer's prototype prioritizes function over aesthetics, omitting common features like RGB lighting in favor of raw cooling performance. The water block's industrial design reflects its proof-of-concept nature, though the transparent top panel offers practical utility for monitoring coolant flow. While no retail release timeline has been announced, Der8auer indicated that addressing the PCIe slot structural support issue remains a critical milestone before any commercial version could be considered.

EK Introduces New Direct Die Water Block for Socket LGA 1700 14th Gen Intel Core CPUs

EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is rolling out a brand-new water block built from the ground up for the LGA 1700 socket, explicitly designed for delidded Intel Core CPUs. It bears improvements that benefit 14th-generation CPUs and shares almost no parts with the previously released Intel Direct Die water block. It includes a purpose-developed cold plate, cooling fin structure, and mounting mechanism. It relies on standoffs positioned at the four corners of the water block to ensure optimal contact with the CPU, eliminating concerns about applying too much or too little pressure on the bare CPU die, just like the AM5 Direct Die water block. EK's latest water block features EK-Matrix7 compatibility, meaning the product's height and port distance are managed in 7 mm increments for easier loop planning and precise results.

EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB - 1700 Core Edition
This new direct die LGA 1700 water block is built from scratch and made to squeeze every bit of performance out of the 14th-generation Intel Core CPUs. The top is seethrough glass-like acrylic, with rich D-RGB illumination behind the window, which is riddled with aluminium bars going over the top and two G1/4" extenders that interrupt the flow of the black-anodized aluminium bars. These G1/4" extenders are standard Torque micro extenders. They can be replaced by other products from the EK-Quantum Torque Micro series, be it extenders of different finish, HDP or HDC fittings.

Bitspower at Computex 2024: Magnetized Top Water Blocks, Rotary Fittings, Rackmount AIOs

Liquid cooling expert Bitspower brought several new toys to the 2024 Computex. We began our visit by taking a close look at several all-in-one, closed loop liquid coolers by the company for the rackmount server/workstation market. With the AI development and acceleration market picking up, SMBs have rackmount GPU servers, and you'd want to minimize the thermal impact of the CPUs in your blade. That's where Bitspower steps in. The 1U/2U AIO CLCs come in platform-specific variants—Intel Socket E, Socket E2; or AMD Socket SP5; connected to radiators that are designed for 1U/2U cases; and meant to be paired with server fans.

Next up, Bitspower showed us certain gaming PC AIO CLCs with direct-die cooling water blocks. These coolers come with conventional 360 mm radiators, but their blocks feature a surface meant to make direct contact with the CPU die. We're not sure if the cooler includes a de-lidding kit, but one was shown next to the cooler. We could only spot coolers for LGA1700 "Raptor Lake." Next up, the company showed us their Concept X CPU water block with a clear acrylic top that has magnetized edges. You can easily install and replace 'tops' on top of this top. These tops include frosted acrylic, a top that appears like POM acetal, brushed aluminium, among others—anything that sticks like a fridge magnet.
