CORSAIR Launches the $60 Hydro XC5 RGB CPU Water Block

In a somewhat puzzling trend, this is yet another launch from CORSAIR's Hydro X series of custom watercooling components that has not been marketed by the company. It took a careful set of eyes to see the new CPU block, the Hydro X Series XC5, on their website and evidently this is a new release targeting even more a budget-friendly build compared to the Hydro XC7 and Hydro XC9 blocks. The XC5 block is a cost-down version of the XC7, with support for Intel LGA 115x/1200 and AMD AM4 CPU sockets depending on the SKU you go with. Gone is the transparent top, and instead we see a black nylon top with a patterned cutout for RGB lighting. The nickel-plated copper cold plate is replaced with passivated copper, which may also please all you pure copper folks out there, and the 16 RGB LEDs are now set up in 8 lighting zones (two LEDs per zone) as opposed to fully addressable 16 dRGB LEDs on the XC7. This means that the Hydro XC5 blocks can be had for $60/€60 before applicable taxes, which is $20 less than the XC7 on street pricing at the moment.

Thermaltake Intros Pacific MX1 Plus CPU Water Block

Thermaltake today introduced the Pacific MX1 Plus, a CPU water block for DIY liquid cooling setups which bears a strong resemblance to AIO CLC pump-blocks, with its characteristic puck-shape. The block features an acrylic top with a silicone ARGB LED diffuser that's studded with LEDs. The block uses a standard 3-pin ARGB header for its lighting. The inlet and outlet are located toward the center-top (fittings not included). The primary material is nickel-plated copper, with a mirror finish at the cold plate, and a 0.15 mm micro-fin lattice for heat dissipation to the coolant. The block also includes a thermal diode (2-pin). Among the CPU socket types supported are AM4, LGA1200, LGA115x, and LGA2066. The block weighs about 670 g, measuring 93.4 mm x 93.4 mm x 52.2 mm (LxWxH). The company didn't reveal pricing.

Alphacool Releases Eisblock ES Acetal Water Blocks for RTX 3090 and RTX 3080

Today, Alphacool presents its latest RTX 3080 GPU cooling block for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition to pre-order. Delivery is expected to start at the end of October. This cooler covers all the necessary components that require cooling. This includes the voltage converters, graphics memory and of course the GPU. All known hotspots of the graphics cards are completely cooled with water. Alphacool includes special 1 mm thick Ultra Soft thermal pads with this GPU cooler. As the name suggests, these are very soft and nestle perfectly to the components to be cooled. When the thermal pads heat up, the consistency and behavior is more like a thermal paste than a thermal pad. This of course has a positive effect on heat dissipation and is thermally far superior to standard thermal pads.

EK Water Blocks Releases Vector Water Block for EVGA RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 XC3

EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is launching its premium high-performance GPU water block for the EVGA XC3 edition of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. The new water block is named EK-Quantum Vector XC3 RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB and is exclusively engineered for the EVGA XC3 RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 GPUs. The EK-Quantum Vector XC3 RTX 3080/3090 water block is compatible with EVGA XC3 RTX 3080 and 3090 graphics cards. This Vector water block actively cools the GPU, top-facing VRAM, and inductors and MOSFETs in the VRM section.

These newly developed XC3 water blocks feature optimized flow paths that reduce hydrodynamic instabilities and vortexing (dead spots) inside of them. An Open Split-Flow cooling engine design is implemented, which proved to be a superior solution for GPU water blocks. It is characterized by low hydraulic flow restriction, meaning it can be used with weaker water pumps or pumps running on low-speed settings, and still achieve top performance. The jet plate and fin structure geometry have been optimized to provide even flow distribution with minimal losses and optimal performance when used in any given coolant flow orientation, unlike some products that are currently available on the market.

ASUS ROG Maximus XII Extreme Gundam Motherboard Pictured

Here's the first picture of the ASUS ROG Maximus XII Extreme Gundam, a new Socket LGA1200 motherboard based on the Intel Z490 chipset, courtesy of VideoCardz. Based on the original Maximus XII Extreme, the Extreme Gundam is a step-up, and comes with a custom-design full-coverage water block, and styling resembling that of a Gundam mecha. Vast bits of silver covering the acrylic top of the FC block, fuse with bright bits of blue, red, and yellow. Supplied by EK Water Blocks, the full-coverage water block cools the processor, CPU VRM, and the Z490 PCH. It's also possible that the M.2 heatsinks on the board shed some of their heat onto the block. The board is otherwise identical to the original Maximus XII Extreme. We're also getting to learn that ASUS has a whole lineup of products planned, based on the Gundam theme.

Alphacool Unveils Eisblock Plexi Water Blocks for MSI Ventus RTX 3080 and RTX 3090

Today, Alphacool presents its latest RTX 3080/3090 GPU cooling block for the MSI GeForce RTX 3080/3090 Ventus 3X to pre-order.

The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-N RTX 3090/3080 Ventus comes with a suitable backplate. This does not have to be purchased separately.
Like all Eisblock Aurora coolers, these models offer a comprehensive Digital RGB, sometimes better known as aRGB, illumination.

It's 124 mm wide and 231 mm long and cools all key components on the GPU's printed circuit board. This gives the water block advantage on the market of having a clean design, showing off all of the cooling liquid, and cooling all of the necessary components.

EK Water Blocks for ROG Strix NVIDIA RTX 30 Series Graphics Cards Now Available

EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is ready to offer its premium high-performance GPU water block for ASUS ROG Strix edition NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. This huge new water block is named EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB, and it is very important to keep in mind that it's meant only for the ROG Strix graphics cards.

"For years now, each generation of ROG Strix edition full-cover water blocks was utilizing bridge covers to channel coolant over the tall capacitors in the VRM zone. This time around, the layout of the PCB allowed us to make a water block without a stainless-steel bridge cover, making the entire coolant flow path visible. Our engineering team also went the distance on the copper cold plate design that now extends over almost the full length of the PCB," said Edvard König, the founder of EK.
