Cooler Master Brings 57-inch Dual 4K Mini LED Gaming Monitor to Computex 2024

This might be the gaming monitor some of you have been waiting for, as Cooler Master has pulled out all the stops with its GP57ZS monitor that the company was showing at Computex. Apart from being a massive 57-inches, the monitor offers dual 4K resolution, or 7680 x 2160 pixels, which are lit up by a 2304-zone Mini LED backlight. We've seen similar displays from both Samsung and Acer. Cooler Master is clearly using the same VA panel as the previously mentioned companies and you also get the same 1000R curvature here, which means the GP57ZS isn't going to be for everyone. Cooler Master didn't provide any refresh rate details, nor the types of inputs that will be on offer.

In addition to this, Cooler Master also showed off a pair of new 27-inch models, both sporting a 2560 x 1440 resolution. The cheaper GM27QP gets a 1500R curved 160 Hz VA panel and HDR400 support, as well as a DP 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 inputs. It also gets to make do with basic Adaptive Sync VRR, but it does have gaming features like crosshair, an FPS counter and black stabilisation. The more premium GP27QP on the other hand gets a flat display panel of unknown type with a 240 Hz refresh rate, which is illuminated by an 1152 zone Mini LED backlight. Typical brightness is 350 nits and the contrast ratio is 2500:1, but the display is also HDR1000 certified. Connectivity is seriously upgraded here with two DP 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, as well as a USB Type-C input that also delivers 96 Watts of USB PD power. In addition to this, there's also a USB Type-B input and three USB Type-A outputs. For some reason it seems like Cooler Master has stuck with Adaptive Sync on this model too, but this model does at least gain support for Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture support.

MSI Integrates AIO Liquid Cooler on Its New SUPRIM FUZION and EXPERT FUZION Graphics Cards at Computex 2024

MSI unveiled some rather interesting new graphics card series at the Computex 2024 show, and while hybrid liquid and air cooled graphics cards are not really new, we rarely see the whole AIO liquid cooler integrated on the graphics card itself, which is what MSI is doing now with the SUPRIM FUZION and EXPERT FUZION graphics cards. While MSI was quite keen to announce these as "the world's first graphics card with an all-in-one cooler design", ASUS did the same thing before with its ROG MATRIX RTX 2080 TI back in 2019, and now MSI is pushing a similar design with GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 SUPER graphics cards.

Nevertheless, the new MSI SUPRIM FUZION RTX 4090, which already won the Computex 2024 Best Choice award and was already leaked a few days ago, is based on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and comes with "patented liquid system enclosed within the graphics card". The MSI SUPRIM FUZION RTX 4090 will feature a triple-slot design with two fans, most likely one to cool down the AIO radiator, and the other to keep other components well cooled.

Cooler Master Sues SilverStone, Enermax, and their OEM for AIO CLC Patent Infringement

Cooler Master has sued SilverStone, Enermax, and their common OEM, the Guangdong China-based Apaltek, for patent infringement of designs of their all-in-one, closed-loop liquid CPU coolers. The company has moved the United States District Court in the Central District of California, against the three companies for alleged IP violation in the design of its AIO CLCs. Cooler Master alleges that the three companies violate U.S. Patent numbers 10,509,446; 11,061,450; and D856,941 held by it. The infringing products referenced in the Lawsuit are SilverStone IceMyst 240, PF240, PF240W, IceGem 360, VIDA 240 Slim, and RGB Controller, and the Enermax Aquafusion ADV, Liqmax III ARGB, Liqtech 360 TR4 II Slim, and RGB Controller. Apaltek doesn't have any products in the retail channel under its own brand, but is being sued as the original technology supplier for SilverStone and Enermax.

Specifically, the Cooler Master suit alleges that the pump-inside-radiator design choice is a Cooler Master invention; as is the ARGB mini-controller. It also alleges infringement in the essential design of the coolers. It seeks damages and legal costs in Relief. One of the three defendants has reached out to TechPowerUp with a comment, in which it says that it finds it interesting that Cooler Master, which itself defended a similar patent infringement lawsuit against Asetek in 2016-17 would go on to allege patent infringement with smaller competitors such as Enermax and SilverStone, while leaving out certain other customers of Apaltek, such as MSI. They stated that they intend to defend their designs in the Court. This defendant termed Cooler Master's behavior as being that of a "bully."

Cooler Master Unveils the Sequel to a Classic Case - the NR200P V2

Cooler Master, a leading provider of PC components, gaming peripherals, and tech lifestyle solutions, has today announced the NR200P V2 - a redesigned new take on the classic high performance NR200P case. The V2 keeps things compact and frees up desk space without sacrificing any of the performance benefits users expect from an NR200P case, such as versatile cooling support and maximized airflow.

Cooler Master Raises the Bar for Entry Level Monitors with GA2501

Cooler Master introduced the GA2501, its most affordable monitor, which is expected to raise the bar for what constitutes entry-level. This 24.5-inch planar monitor covers all the basics, but with a premium-looking design that doesn't come across as cheap. The monitor offers a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution using an IPS panel, that offers 84% coverage of DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB; and 109% coverage of sRGB. Vital specs of this Full HD IPS panel include 1 ms (GTG) response time, 100 Hz refresh rate, 250 nits maximum brightness, and 1500:1 static contrast ratio. As it's an IPS panel, you of course get 178°/178° viewing angles. The panel is embedded into a 3-side thin bezel body.

There are two very interesting aspects about this monitor. Firstly, its connectivity that includes an HDMI and a D-Sub—that's right, you get legacy analog connectivity with this monitor. With this, you can have the native resolution, but at a reduced 75 Hz refresh rate. A D-Sub cable isn't included in the box, though. What is included, is an HDMI cable, since this is the monitor's sole digital input, and you need it for the full 100 Hz refresh rate. And now, the second very interesting aspect about this monitor is its price. In Europe, the Cooler Master GA2501 is selling for just 110€, including taxes. How's that for an entry-level product?

Cooler Master Introduces the V Platinum V2: A New Standard in Power Supply Units

Cooler Master, a leading innovator in PC Hardware, today announced the V Platinum V2 power supply unit (PSU). Designed to cater to high-power applications in fields like machine learning, AI and advanced workstations, the V Platinum V2 sets a new benchmark in PSU performance. Available in three powerful variants - 1100 W, 1300 W and 1600 W - this PSU is not just a powerhouse for the latest gaming needs but a cornerstone for the most demanding computational tasks.

"Cooler Master is committed to pushing the frontiers of technology, and the V Platinum V2 is a testament to this pursuit," said Jimmy Sha, Cooler Master CEO. "By integrating noise reduction and thermal management features, we've created a PSU that's not only incredibly efficient but supremely quiet, making it an ideal choice for professionals and enthusiasts seeking the utmost in performance."

Cooler Master Demos Prototype "Project VGA Cooler" at CES

Cooler Master's research and design team seems to be up to all sorts of shenanigans lately—company representatives at CES 2024 had the joyful experience of hyping up a curiosity/prototype bearing the moniker "Project VGA Cooler." It certainly is a tough sell to explain to punters how an aftermarket part can usurp the performance offered by a manufacturer's standard fitting of triple-fan arrays on already pricey custom high-end GeForce RTX 40xx cards. The plucky Project VGA Cooler was showcased in white or dark silver forms, accompanied by twin Mobius 120 mm fans. The spec sheet states that these utilize special loop dynamic bearings, although we are not certain whether the special Mobius fans are customized for this project specifically.

TPU staff witnessed an ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 TUF graphics card getting the refit treatment—its original triple-fan array was removed, and the experimental aftermarket part was attached to the TUF's remaining heatsink and shroud. Cooler Master's demonstration proceeded smoothly, but this publication questions whether these prototype GPU cooling units are truly prepared for a universal fit across a wide variety of expensive current generation GeForce RTX models, or Radeon RX equivalents. Cooler Master's design team likely has to be careful in choosing specific or popular GPU models, once "Project VGA Cooler" exits the conceptual phase of development and approaches final retail form.

Cooler Master Showcases MasterKeys & MasterMouse Products at CES '24

Cooler Master presented its upcoming MasterKeys hybrid wireless gaming keyboard at CES 2024—the MK770 was debuted at last year's event, but has not reached retail in the iterim period. A variety of chassis and keycap color sets were showcased at CES '23, but that tally has decreased at Cooler Master's 2024 convention exhibit—Space Gray and Macaron are the two consolidated choices. The feature set presented a year ago seems to be largely intact—TPU noted that the MK770 is still advertised as having a hot-swappable mechanical switch system, gasket structure (for noise and vibration reduction), coupled with a noise-absorbing design plus silicone dampers. Kailh Box V2 switches are part of this customizable package, plus US and TC regional versions will get high-purity PBT double shot keycaps, for increased durability and long-lasting colors.

The MasterMouse MM712 Wired Gaming mouse also made a re-appearance at CES 2024. We last witnessed this small + lightweight (sub 50 grams) pointing device at Cooler Master's Computex 2023 booth, alongside its fancier MM712 PRO wireless sibling. The wired version sits alone at this year's event; we are not sure why the PRO version is absent. The MM712 Wired is presented as a permanently Ultraweaved cable-equipped alternative to Cooler Master's existing MM712 hybrid model, although the shell and main buttons have been redesigned to eliminate uncomfortable pinching of skin. The spec sheet confirms that Pixart's top-flight PAW3395 optical sensor has been integrated into the MM712 Wired, granting a maximum 26,000 DPI setting.

Cooler Master Presents New Case Designs at CES - Updates NR200P Series

Cooler Master has showcased a wide variety of new case designs, as well refreshed versions of enthusiast favorites at CES 2024—the NR200P Vision was given special placement on a purple lit podium. This striking revisement of CM's original NR200P model presents itself as a futuristic concept—a crowd of attendees was drawn to this compact spectacle. Cooler Master states that NR200P Vision's feature set would normally be reserved for high-end or studio-level enclosures, but they have worked on integrating these into a space-saving profile. Support for 240 and 280 mm liquid coolers is mentioned on their interactive tablet display, as well as a provision for large GPUs (356 mm long, 160 mm high) via a vertical mounting system. An extra holder will be included to keep everything firmly in place. TPU staffers noticed that the Vision was fitted with wood (effect?) feet, suggesting that some style notes have been taken from Fractal Design's book.

The NR200P Vision features vented steel construction and striking tempered glass side panels—Cooler Master claims that this headliner has the performance to match its good looks. The Taiwanese hardware manufacturer made some room at their booth for another NR200-series refresh—a NR200P V2 model was presented in black or white options. Past feedback has been taken onboard; the chassis design team has made sure to update the front I/O panel with a much requested USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type C port (offering up to 20 Gb/s transfer speeds). It seems that the NR200P Vision has received the same front-facing connectivity treatment.

Cooler Master's MasterHub is Every Streamer's Dream

Every gaming lifestyle brand has a stream-control device in its lineup these days, but none even functionally close to the MasterHub by Cooler Master. This is a modular, highly customizable stream control panel, in which you can swap out modules to alter its layout and functionality. A base plate roughly the size of a 7-inch tablet has various contact points on top; you pick and choose the modules you need, and mount them on top of this dock.

Among the modules available are everything from a 15-key Lebdev pad, to one with a 5-pole fader, to one with rotary knobs, to another with drum rollers, to another with a puck-shaped touchscreen. You can mix and match them as you need, and everything is programmable using the MasterHub app. You can even have multiple modules of the same kind—think two Lebdev pads worth 30 keys; or as many MasterHubs as you want. The base plate aggregates all modules into a single USB-C connection to your PC.
