Danger Den Almost Ready with Hemlock Water-Block

PC water-cooling components specialist Danger Den is almost ready with its water-block compatible with AMD's upcoming dual-GPU accelerator codenamed "Hemlock". Almost, since the base-plate of the water-block has already been designed and molded, which makes for most of the product in itself, requiring only the top, its sealing, and fittings. The monolithic, full-coverage block base is made of copper. Its top portion reveals its intricately carved water channels. The copper grooves over the areas of the block which make contact with some of the most important components such as the GPU, memory, and bridge chip, increase area of heat dissipation. The block is CrossFire certified, and weighs about 3.00 lbs / 1.37 kg. Danger Den is waiting for an engineering sample from AMD, so it can complete running tests, and name its block after getting clarity on what AMD ends up naming Hemlock. AMD's new flagship graphics accelerator is expected to arrive in time for the crucial X-Mas shopping season.

German Reseller Stakes Claim to Several Brand Names, Targets Competitors

In EU, a land that worships fair market practices, that recently booked two of the biggest names in the IT industry (Intel, Microsoft) for anti-competitive market malpractices, and penalized them for billions of Dollars, one would expect high standards of business practices. Apparently one has to peel the onion to find it's not all that fresh inside. Aquatuning, a German reseller has found an interesting way of locking its competitors out, of pretty much everything it does. The store deals in high-performance PC component cooling products, such as water-cooling components. In order to make sure nobody else in the country sells what it does, the company is registering the brands its sells, under its own name.

The 100% copper base and 240 heat dissipating columns of the MC-TDX allow significant temperature drops on Quad Core processors (5-10 Degrees Celsius observed on lab QX6800 depending on radiator size and ambient room temperature). The MC-TDX is retailing in two versions, one for LGA775 and one for AMD's socket AM2 processors. Also new is the MPC-Chipset for NVIDIA 680i, Intel 975, RD600 and other popular chipsets. Both water blocks can be purchased now directly from Danger Den.

Danger Den Releases New R600 Full Size Water Block

The NDA for the R600 was finally lifted around an hour ago and manufacturers are already spreading the news. Danger Den is first here to show their upcoming R600 full size water block. As the HD 2900 XT draws a lot of power (around 215W AMD/ATI announced) a water block does make a lot of sense. The cooler is two parted, along with the GPU chip, the memory and voltage regulators on the fron, it cools the memory chips at the backside of the card as well.
The name of that cooling beast and it's price is still to be uncovered, check back this week, we will have the scoop then.
