ASUS Announces 4 GB GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II

ASUS announced the GTX670-DC2-4GD5, a new GeForce GTX 670 graphics card based on the DirectCU II 2-slot design. The card is armed with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory, across a 256-bit wide memory interface, clocked at 6.00 GHz (192 GB/s). The card implements a custom-design PCB, with 6+2 phase Digi+ VRM that uses SuperAlloy chokes (which don't whine on load). The Digi+ VRM controller provides a certain degree of software voltage control using the GPU Tweak tool. The GPU is clocked at 915 MHz, with 980 MHz GPU Boost frequency. The card draws power from two 6-pin PCIe power connectors. Display outputs include two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort. The new 4 GB GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II from ASUS is expected to be priced around US $450.

Matrox Announces the TripleHead2Go Digital SE Multi-Monitor Adapter

Matrox Graphics Inc. today announced the Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital SE external multi-monitor adapter, which expands your system's single-video output into an immersive triple-monitor setup so that you see and do more. This new Graphics eXpansion Module (GXM) connects to a compatible system's DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort video output or Thunderbolt port and lets you add three external DVI monitors, each with maximum resolutions of either 1920 x 1080 @50Hz (PC) or 1360 x 768 @60Hz (Mac). New High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compliance meanwhile enables the playback of copy-protected content, such as Blu-ray discs, across all three monitors.

Gigabyte Comes Up With a 3 GB GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Gigabyte Technology has today unveiled yet another memory-enriched graphics card, a factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 660 Ti with 3 GB of VRAM (1 GB more than 'normal'). Dubbed GV-N66TOC-3GD, the card features an Ultra Durable VGA design, a triple-fan/dual-slot WINDFORCE cooler, a 192-bit memory interface, GPU Base/Boost clocks of 1032/1111 MHz (915/980 MHz stock), a memory clock of 6008 MHz, SLI support, plus dual-DVI, (gold-plated) HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.

Gigabyte's 3 GB GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC can be found on pre-order priced at 329 Euro.

Gigabyte Introduces a 4 GB GeForce GTX 670 OC Card

Thinking that mo' memory doesn't equal mo' problems, Gigabyte has went on and constructed a new Kepler-powered graphics card with 4 GB of onboard VRAM (double the usual amount), the GV-N670OC-4GD. This GeForce GTX 670 makes use of a WINDFORCE 3X 450W triple-fan/triple-slot cooling system, features an Ultra Durable VGA design and has its Base/Boost GPU clocks set to 980/1058 MHz (up from the stock 915/980 MHz).

The GV-N670OC-4GD also boasts 1344 CUDA Cores, a 256-bit memory interface, a memory clock of 6008 MHz, 3-way SLI support, and dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. The card is available for pre-order at 439 Euro.

Gigabyte Preps GeForce GTX 680 OC with 4 GB of Memory

Taiwan-based Gigabyte Technology is now working on releasing another customized GeForce GTX 680 card, a model codenamed GV-N680OC-4GD which is factory overclocked, packs 4 GB of memory (double the amount of most GTX 680s), and comes equipped with a WINDFORCE 3X 450 W triple-fan cooler.

Gigabyte's card also has an Ultra Durable VGA design (2oz copper PCB, Ferrite Core (Metal) Chokes, Low RDS (on) MOSFET, Japanese Solid Capacitor), a GPU clocked at 1071/1137 MHz Base/Boost (standard is 1006/1058 MHz), a 256-bit memory interface, a memory clock of 6008 MHz, and dual-DVI, HDMI (gold-plated) and DisplayPort outputs. No word yet on availability or pricing.

ASUS Also Rolls Out New Monitors

ASUS announced a pair of new monitors addressing different segments of the market, the PA248QJ for creative professionals, and the VG27AH for gamers. The 24-inch PA248QJ provides a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and packs a high-grade IPS LCD panel with 10-bit color resolution, high coverage of Adobe RGB palette, 6 ms response time, 300 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 static and 8000:1 ASCR contrast ratios, and a range of inputs including DisplayPort, DVI, and HDMI. The monitor also includes a 4-port USB 3.0 hub. Moving on, the VG27AH is a 27-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels native resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 5 ms response time, IPS LCD panel with 178-degree V/H viewing angles, 250 cd/m² brightness, 80000000:1 ASCR, and a variety of 3D display features.

ViewSonic Releases the VG2239m-LED and VG2439m-LED Monitors

ViewSonic Introduces the VP2770-LED 27-Inch WQHD IPS Monitor

Dell Readies the U2913WM 29-inch Monitor

After updating the S Series last week, Dell is now working on bringing new blood into its UltraSharp line. That new blood is the U2913WM, a 29-inch models equipped with a (likely IPS) panel with a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels. Seen below, the upcoming monitor also features four USB ports and D-Sub, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectors.

No word yet on pricing. As for availability, Dell's just saying that it's 'coming soon'.

MSI GeForce GTX 660 HAWK Graphics Card Detailed

MSI's flagship factory-overclocked graphics card based on the GeForce GTX 660, the N660GTX HAWK, was pictured and detailed by Expreview, earlier this week. According to the source, the card will be designed for about 15% higher core clock speeds than reference, backed by high-grade voltage regulation circuitry and the company's TwinFrozr IV cooling solution.

To begin with, the GeForce GTX 660 HAWK will ship with clock speeds of 1100 MHz core, 1176 MHz GPU Boost core clock speeds. The memory is left untouched at 6.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective). Under the hood is a 10-phase VRM that uses SSC chokes (low energy loss to noise), and IR DirectFETs. The card appears to use a high-end voltage controller that allows software voltage control, and consolidated voltage measurement points. The card draws power from two 6-pin PCIe power connectors.

Eizo unveiled a new lineup of ColorEdge monitors to appeal to both its traditional core of high-end graphics professionals as well as to middle and entry level users requiring monitors that provide accurate color for their creative endeavors.

The new lineup consists of three series and five models. The three series contain different feature sets, options, and price points for their intended audiences, but retain the hallmarks common to all ColorEdge monitors such as hardware calibration, brightness uniformity, and adjusting the gamma curve of each model on the EIZO factory line before shipping.

Gigabyte's Mini-ITX 7-series Motherboards Official

Gigabyte launched its pair of mini-ITX form-factor motherboards based on Intel 7-series chipset, supporting processors in the LGA1155 package. These include the Z77-based GA-Z77N-WiFi, and H77-based GA-H77N-WiFi. The two are virtually identical, with the exception of the Z77-based model supporting CPU overclocking. This is made possible due to the fact that Z77 and H77 PCH chips are pin-compatible, and it's only a matter of pairing either of those with compatible micro-code. The GA-H77N-WiFi has been detailed length in our older article. The two are perhaps the only mini-ITX motherboards in the industry to feature three network interfaces (two gigabit Ethernet and an 802.11 b/g/n WLAN). Further, the WLAN adapter supports Intel Wireless Display Technology (WiDi), adding to three other ways to connect your display to it: HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI.

VESA Improves Device Battery Life and Performance with Embedded DisplayPort 1.4

The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) today announced the upcoming release of Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) Version 1.4. This version of VESA's embedded display interface includes new features that will further reduce system power consumption, support multi-touch data over the display interface, and support a wider range of platform topologies including tablets, handheld devices, and notebook PCs. These new features will position eDP as the universal embedded display interface for mobile devices and will lead to increased battery life, reduce system size and weight, as well as increase overall display capabilities.

eDP v1.4 addresses system power reduction through new features, including a new partial-frame update capability for Panel Self Refresh (PSR), lower interface voltage swings, additional link rate options, transport data compression, and regional backlight control. The auxiliary channel will now carry multi- touch data from the display to system processor. eDP v1.4 electrical interface parameters have also been enhanced to accommodate a wider range of system form factors and transmission media.

Gigabyte Releasing a Radeon HD 7850 with 1 GB of Memory

Going for the opposite of overkill (should be underkill right?) when it comes to VRAM, Gigabyte Technology has decided on rolling out a customized, overclocked Radeon HD 7850 card that has half the memory amount found even on stock models - 1 GB. Gigabyte's memory-light card is codenamed GV-R785OC-1GD and it features an Ultra Durable 2 design (Ferrite Core Chokes, Low RDS (on) MOSFET, Lower ESR Solid Capacitors), a WindForce 2X cooler with two fans and two copper heatpipes, a blue PCB, a GPU clocked at 900 MHz (860 MHz stock), a 256-bit memory interface, a VRAM frequency of 4800 MHz, one DVI port, a gold-plated HDMI out and two mini DisplayPort connectors.

The GV-R785OC-1GD is currently up for pre-order @ €264.71.

EVGA Z77 Mini ITX Motherboard Detailed

Here are some of the first pictures of EVGA's upcoming Z77 Mini ITX motherboard. EVGA's newest creation is one of the first mini-ITX motherboards with CPU socket north of the chipset, clearly a response to community feedback. EVGA's Z77 Mini ITX is geared for overclocking, with the LGA1155 socket bolstered by an 8-phase VRM that uses International Rectifier PowIRphase driver-MOSFETs. The board draws power from 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors. The LGA1155 socket is wired to two DDR3 DIMM slots supporting up to 32 GB of dual-channel DDR3 memory; and a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot.

In terms of storage connectivity, the EVGA Z77 Mini ITX is equipped with two each of SATA 6 Gb/s and SATA 3 Gb/s ports, and an mSATA 3 Gb/s slot wired to the Z77 PCH; and two eSATA 6 Gb/s driven by a Marvell-made controller. Display connectivity includes HDMI and mini-DisplayPort. High-bandwidth connectivity includes six USB 3.0 ports (four on the rear panel, two via headers), and two eSATA 6 Gb/s. 8+2 channel HD audio (Realtek ALC898 CODEC), gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, and a number of USB 2.0/1.1 ports make for the rest of the connectivity. ASUS Launches the PB278Q WQHD Display

ASUS today launches the PB278Q wide quad high definition (WQHD) display. This new ergonomically-designed 27" monitor promises true-to-life 2560 x 1440 resolution visuals courtesy of an LED-backlit, wide-view angle (178°) display.

It is chock-full of features that include ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio technology, 100% sRGB color space compatibility, ASUS exclusive QuickFit Virtual Scale, and Splendid Video Intelligence Technology. It offers extensive multimedia connectivity with HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, and Dual-link DVI for WQHD content support; along with built-in twin 3W speakers for an immersive home theatre experience.

LG Readies EA93 and EA83 Widescreen IPS LED Monitors

IPS panel major LG is readying a pair of new widescreen, high-resolution monitors for launch at IFA Berlin, the EA93 and EA83. The two incorporate LG's IPS LCD panels with LED illumination. The EA93 is a 29-inch ultra-widescreen monitor featuring a 21:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1080 pixels native resolution. The 27-inch EA83, on the other hand, features a more conventional 16:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

The EA93 is designed to support 4-way split screen, taking inputs from four different connectors: dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI, and MHL. The EA83 supports dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI, and offers 99 percent coverage of Adobe RGB palette. The EA93 and EA83 are slated for market-launch in November.

Gigabyte Outs First Dual-Thunderbolt Micro-ATX Motherboard

Gigabyte released the first motherboard in the micro-ATX form-factor to feature two Thunderbolt interfaces. The Z77MX-D3H-TH from Gigabyte is built in the standard 240 x 240 mm micro-ATX form-factor, and based on the Intel Z77 Express chipset, supporting socket LGA1155 Core "Sandy Bridge" and "Ivy Bridge" processors. The board uses an Intel DSL3510L dual channel Thunderbolt controller to drive its two ports.

The two ports, electrically-compatible with mini-DisplayPort, double up as display outputs that are routed to the Flexible Display Interface (FDI) taking display from the processor's integrated graphics core. With the included Lucid Virtu MVP software, graphics processed by discrete graphics cards can be output though the FDI, and hence these Thunderbolt ports.
