Frore Systems Unveils AirJet Cooling for NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super

NVIDIA's brand new 25 Watt "little tiny Jetson Nano" - the Jetson Orin Nano Super - capable of 67 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of AI performance, is going to generate a lot of heat that could limit its performance if the device isn't supported by adequate cooling. Thanks to the high AI performance of the Jetson Orin Nano Super, breakthrough AI models such as NVIDIA Isaac for robotics, NVIDIA Metropolis for vision AI, and NVIDIA Holoscan for sensor processing, NVIDIA Omniverse Replicator for synthetic data generation (SDG) and NVIDIA TAO Toolkit for fine-tuning pretrained AI models may now run at the Edge, delivering compute efficiency, reduced latency and data privacy. But without adequate heat dissipation, the Jetson Orin Nano Super will be forced to throttle, significantly reducing its performance and diminishing the capabilities of Edge AI applications supported including robotics, industrial automation, smart cities, healthcare, and retail analytics.

AirJet PAK 5C-25 from Frore Systems, can provide the full 25 Watts of cooling NVIDIA's Jetson Orin Nano Super needs. The AirJet PAK 5C-25 is a fully self-contained, autonomous, plug and play, solid-state active cooling thermal module, that is thin, silent, dustproof, water resistant, and enables the full performance of the Jetson Nano Super, even in the toughest operating conditions. The AirJet PAK 5C-25 can be combined with the Jetson Orin Nano Super to remove 25 Watts of heat, even in industrial grade casings that are ultra compact, silent, vibration free, dustproof and water-resistant. These industrial grade casings, enabled by the AirJet PAK, are massively smaller and lighter than comparable fanless casings that require large, heavy heat sinks to dissipate heat.

NVIDIA Blackwell Sets New Standard for Generative AI in MLPerf Inference Benchmark

As enterprises race to adopt generative AI and bring new services to market, the demands on data center infrastructure have never been greater. Training large language models is one challenge, but delivering LLM-powered real-time services is another. In the latest round of MLPerf industry benchmarks, Inference v4.1, NVIDIA platforms delivered leading performance across all data center tests. The first-ever submission of the upcoming NVIDIA Blackwell platform revealed up to 4x more performance than the NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU on MLPerf's biggest LLM workload, Llama 2 70B, thanks to its use of a second-generation Transformer Engine and FP4 Tensor Cores.

The NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPU delivered outstanding results on every benchmark in the data center category - including the latest addition to the benchmark, the Mixtral 8x7B mixture of experts (MoE) LLM, which features a total of 46.7 billion parameters, with 12.9 billion parameters active per token. MoE models have gained popularity as a way to bring more versatility to LLM deployments, as they're capable of answering a wide variety of questions and performing more diverse tasks in a single deployment. They're also more efficient since they only activate a few experts per inference - meaning they deliver results much faster than dense models of a similar size.

Nintendo Switch 2 to Feature NVIDIA Ampere GPU with DLSS

The rumors of Nintendo's next-generation Switch handheld gaming console have been piling up ever since the competition in the handheld console market got more intense. Since the release of the original Switch, Valve has released Steam Deck, ASUS made ROG Ally, and others are also exploring the market. However, the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 is closer and closer, as we have information about the chipset that will power this device. Thanks to Kepler_L2 on Twitter/X, we have the codenames of the upcoming processors. The first generation Switch came with NVIDIA's Tegra X1 SoC built on a 20 nm node. However, later on, NVIDIA supplied Nintendo with a Tegra X1+ SoC made on a 16 nm node. There were no performance increases recorded, just improved power efficiency. Both of them used four Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 cores with GM20B Maxwell GPUs.

For the Nintendo Switch 2, NVIDIA is said to utilize a customized variant of NVIDIA Jetson Orin SoC for automotive applications. The reference Orin SoC carries a codename T234, while this alleged adaptation has a T239 codename; the version is most likely optimized for power efficiency. The reference Orin design is a considerable uplift compared to the Tegra X1, as it boasts 12 Cortex-A78AE cores and LPDDR5 memory, along with Ampere GPU microarchitecture. Built on Samsung's 8 nm node, the efficiency would likely yield better battery life and position the second-generation Switch well among the now extended handheld gaming console market. However, including Ampere architecture would also bring technologies like DLSS, which would benefit the low-power SoC.
