Kingston Digital Extends the Speedy Class 10 microSDHC Family

Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced it is shipping a 4GB and 8GB Class 10 microSDHC card, joining the previously released 16GB Class 10 card. Kingston will add a 32GB capacity to the family in Q2. The Class 10 cards have a fast minimum data transfer rate of 10MB/s.

"Kingston's Class 10 microSDHC cards are compatible with many of the latest mobile phones including Android smartphones and BlackBerry devices, hi-def cameras and the increasingly popular tablet PCs," said Mike Kuppinger, Flash card business manager, Kingston. Kingston Technology Revenues Climb to Record $6.5 Billion in 2010

Kingston Technology Corporation, the independent world leader in memory products, today announced that its global revenues in 2010 soared to a record $6.5 billion (U.S.), the highest ever in company history. The $2.4 billion increase in sales over 2009 was attributed primarily to a rise in average selling price (ASP) and increased shipment volume.

Kingston Technology Ships HyperX Genesis with New Heatspreader

Kingston Technology Adds New HyperX T1 Black Triple-Channel Memory Kits

Kingston Digital Debuts First Secure USB Flash Drive Managed by SafeConsole

The first product to be released from the partnership between Kingston Digital, Inc., and BlockMaster is presented today at the opening of the annual RSA conference in San Francisco. The SafeConsole Ready hardware-encrypted secure USB drive DataTraveler Vault - Privacy Managed (DTVPM) from Kingston is mandatory managed by the central management server SafeConsole from BlockMaster.

ASRock Intros Utility to Speed Up USB

ASRock released a nifty little software utility that steps up USB transfer rates. The ASRock XFast USB utility is also able to speed up USB 3.0 flash drives, which are well within the 5 Gb/s theoritical maximum of the interface. OCWorkbench did a "before and after" test of the utility as part of its Kingston HyperX Max 3.0 review. The portable SSD managed transfer rates of 156 MB/s before using the utility, which then jumped up to 241.32 MB/s after using it. SiSoft SANDRA was used for measurements. Kingston Seeking Stake in SATA Specialist JMicron

Flash memory and DRAM major Kingston Technology is reportedly seeking a stake in JMicron, a company that specializes in serial ATA connectivity products such as SATA host controllers and SSD NAND flash controllers. JMicron has been supplying Kingston with controller chips for its entry-level SSDs. JMicron will host a special investors meeting tomorrow to pass the company's proposal to raise new funds through a private placement.

In a segment seeing domination with companies such as Marvell and SandForce, JMicron has seen success in 2010 with its entry-level SSD controllers. Industry sources estimated that JMicron's SSD controller shipments for 2010 totaled more than one million units. Kingston accounted for over 30% to the output, the sources said. Kingston's partnership indicates that we will get to see more of Kingston's products feature JMicron controllers.

Kingston Announces HyperX T1 DDR3-2133 MHz 8 Gigabyte Kits for Sandy Bridge

Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced its 8GB 2133MHz HyperX memory kits have achieved Intel XMP certification for the P67 Sandy Bridge platform. Kingston Readies HyperX Genesis DDR3 Memory Series for Sandy Bridge

Memory major Kingston Technology is ready to greet Intel's 2011 Core processor family with a new line of DDR3 memory kits tailored for it. The HyperX Genesis, as it's called, combines faster, lower-latency, and lower-voltage DDR3 memory with a new sporty-looking heatsink design that keeps the modules cool while maintaining standard module height. The heatsink is basically two sheets of metal interlocked at the top, with rows of holes to draw in convectional air currents, to cool the heatsink. Kingston's new HyperX Genesis series is expected to be out in early January, 2011.

Kingston Releases New Data Traveller Mini Fun G2 Flash Drive Series

Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced the release of DataTraveler (DT) Mini Fun Generation 2 (G2) USB Flash drive.

The DT Mini Fun G2 marks the next generation of a Kingston favorite. It features a miniature design in great colors, which makes the drive ideal for home, school and travel. Kingston Unveils HyperX MAX 3.0 External SSDs with USB 3.0 Interface

Kingston unveiled the first line of HyperX branded solid state drives (SSDs), starting with the HyperX MAX 3.0 external SSDs with USB 3.0 interface. HyperX is Kingston's brand of high-performance products, such as memory modules. The HyperX MAX 3.0 comes in three capacities: 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB; and sports a sleek blue aluminum chassis in the distinct shade of blue found on HyperX memory module heatspreaders. Internally, it's a SATA 3 Gb/s SSD connected to a SATA to USB 3.0 bridge card.

The SSD is driven by Toshiba T6UG1XBG controller, which is connected to Toshiba-made MLC NAND flash chips, making use of some external DRAM cache. The SSD PCB is connected to the USB 3.0 bridge PCB, which is driven by Genesys Logic GL3310 USB 3.0 SATA bridge controller. The HyperX MAX 3.0 is rated by its makers to offer transfer speeds of 195 MB/s read and 160 MB/s write. The 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variants are priced at £125, £220, and £440, respectively. Kingston Announces SSDNow S100 Series Lightweight SSDs for Industry Applications

Kingston announced a new line of solid state drives (SSDs) under the SSDNow S100 series, which are meant for non-PC industry uses, such as industrial embedded computer nodes, industrial automation machinery, etc. The drives are available in the 2.5" SATA form-factor, supporting SATA 3 Gb/s interface. Available in capacities of 8 GB and 16 GB, the S100 SSDs offer transfer speeds of 90 MB/s read and 30 MB/s write (8 GB model); 230 MB/s read and 75 MB/s write (16 GB model). An MTBF of 1 million hours is rated. The 8 GB drive is priced at €41, and the 16 GB model at €57.

This kit includes two 2 GB modules, and carries the model number KHX1600C9D3X1K2/4G. The modules achieve 1600 MHz speeds with timings of 9-9-9-24, and DRAM voltage of 1.65V, making it compatible with Core i5/i7 LGA1156 platform. Kingston Technology Ships HyperX Fan in Black Color

Kingston Technology, Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced it is shipping the HyperX fan in black. The new black fan is identical in performance and specifications to the blue-colored HyperX fan released in June 2009.

The dual 60mm fans optimize airflow around the modules helping memory run at peak performance for longer periods of time. The black HyperX Fan is made of anodized aluminum and when turned on, the blades are illuminated by eight small blue LEDs. Kingston Introduces SSDNow V+ 180 Series

Kingston expanded its SSD product lineup for Europe with the new SSDNow V+ 180 series. These drives come in the 1.8-inch SATA form factor, and are suited for both enterprise (servers) and consumer (notebooks). Kingston started off its SSD lineup with Intel's expertise, and this seems to be similar. Making use of MLC NAND flash chips, the SSDNow V+ provides read/write speeds of upto 230 MB/s (read), 180 MB/s (write). The controller has its dedicated 128 MB of DDR3 memory, and uses the SATA 3 Gb/s interface, it supports the TRIM function in supported OSes. The MTBF of 1 million hours seems to add to its prospects of making it to enterprises. It is available in capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB; priced at €180, €312, €737, respectively.

Kingston Announces its First USB 3.0 Flash Drives: Data Traveller Ultimate Series

Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced it is shipping its first USB 3.0 Flash drive. The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Flash drive takes advantage of the faster USB 3.0 specification that has up to ten times the data transfer rates of the current USB 2.0 specification.

The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 has a read speed of 80 MB/sec. and a write speed of 60MB/sec. It is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. The combination of speed and size makes it ideal for data backup or fast transferring of large files including music, photos and videos. To ensure backwards compatibility, Kingston is also including a Y cable as some USB 2.0 ports require it to initialize USB 3.0 drives.

Kingston Technology HyperX Memory Breaks Dual Channel Frequency World Record

Kingston Technology Europe Ltd., an affiliate of Kingston Technology Company Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced that its world's fastest dual channel memory kit Kingston HyperX KHX2333C9D3T1K3/3GX was clocked at 3068 MHz during a heavy over-clocking session at GamesCom 2010 in Cologne. This is the fastest ever recorded frequency for memory and was achieved by the renowned over-clockers Benjamin Bioux aka 'Benji Tshi' and Jean-Baptiste Gerard aka 'marmott', using liquid nitrogen as cooling aid. The session was run on a GIGABYTE P55 motherboard with an Intel Core i7 870 processor.

"We are absolutely thrilled by the speed of this module," said reigning French over-clocking champion Jean-Baptiste Gerard aka 'marmott', "we knew this module had a lot of potential, but being able to push it that far and break the record for memory frequency even surprised me. Kingston Announces Water Cooling-Ready HyperX H2O DDR3 Memory Kits

Kingston released its DataTraveler G3 series of flash drives. These fairly standard USB 2.0 flash drives come in capacities of 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 GB, and offer transfer speeds of 16 MB/s (read), 5 MB/s (write). The units measure 65.68 x 10.66 x 22.37 mm, and use a capped body. The 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 GB variants are priced at €5.85, €7.11, €11.98, €25.42 and €52.10, respectively.

Kingston Creates World's Fastest Triple-Channel Memory, HyperX DDR3-2333 MHz

Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced it has developed the fastest DDR3 triple-channel, Intel-certified memory in the world.
