Show and Tell with the New Logitech Reach 2-in-1 Webcam and Overhead Camera, We Go Hands On

Content creators often find themselves not just needing a static positioned camera to show their faces, but something to show on a bench or a table from an overhead viewpoint, and which can be easily repositioned. Perhaps the best example would be game streamers wanting a viewport showing their user inputs in real time; or an engineering content creator wanting to show something on their bench from top. For these applications and more, Logitech launched the new Logitech Reach, a 2-in-1 Full HD webcam and overhead camera. The star attraction here isn't the camera itself, but its armature, which has been meticulously engineered by Logitech to provide a near-spherical freedom of movement for the camera. Reposition it in real time, and it will hold its position—no need to turn any fasteners to hold it in place, but a simple locking mechanism.

The armature of the Logitech Reach allows full 360° freedom of motion for the camera along a radius. The second axis of movement is vertical, letting you raise of lower the distance between the camera and the object, so you could optically zoom. Besides horizontal and vertical movements, the camera itself is suspended along an pivot, for an added dimension. Moving the camera around is single handed, and practically effortless. The Reach allows content creators to easily and quickly change viewpoints, from themselves, to an object that they're trying to show their audience. The camera additionally features an up to 4.3x lossless zoom, autofocus, and intrinsic image stabilization from the armature.

Logitech's Upcoming Ergonomic Keyboard Leaks Ahead of Launch

Logitech is readying a new ergonomic keyboard that will go under the name of Wave Keys according to several product images posted by WinFuture. As the name implies, the keyboard is wave shaped, but it's also somewhat curved and takes a slightly different design approach to its shape compared to the current Logitech Wave keyboard. The arrow keys have been shifted to the left, under the right shift key and the cluster of keys above the arrow keys on a full-size keyboard have been moved to the same row as where the function keys would normally be, in favour of the print screen, scroll lock pause keys.

The function keys get to share duty with various media keys and what not and the Wave Keys keyboard has also been designed to be Apple compatible, so the ctrl, alt and windows keys are shared with the cmd and opt keys you'd find on an Apple keyboard. What stands out the most is the integrated, soft and apparently cushioned palm rest, which not only is huge, but seems very likely to attract dirt and grime over time. The Wave Keys support both Bluetooth and Logitech's proprietary wireless connectivity and the company claims up to three years battery life. The keyboard is said to launch later this week for €99.99 in the Eurozone.

Logitech's G Pro X Superlight 2 Leaks Ahead of Launch

It appears that Logitech is getting ready to launch its first revision of the G Pro Superlight which simply gets a 2 in the model name to differentiate it from the current model. The G Pro X Superlight 2 is getting a new Hero 2 sensor that is said to feature a 32,000 DPI sensor, suggesting it might be capable of tracking at over 500 inches per second (IPS) with 40 G worth of acceleration. The USB report rate has also doubled from 1 kHz to 2 kHz, which at least in theory, means reduced input lag.

According to Winfuture who leaked the G Pro X Superlight 2, it will also get up to 95 hours battery life, a 25 hour improvement over the current model. Logitech is also said to have shaved off a further 3 grams of weight, although the G Pro X Superlight 2 is by no means the lightest competitive gaming mouse around. Another and most likely more appreciated feature improvement that the weight reduction, is a move to USB-C for charging, something Logitech has been slow at adopting compared to many of its competitors. The biggest downside of the new model seems to be the expected MSRP, which according to Winfuture will be somewhere between €160-170, with the current model going for €139 in Europe.

Logitech Retiring Blue Microphones Brand, Gaming Line Absorbing Yeti + Snowball Mics & ASTRO Audio Gear

Logitech has announced the merging of its microphone and audio equipment brands - their G Gaming Twitter account posted about this decision yesterday, and directed customers to a question and answer session on the official subreddit: "Where do you get support? How will ASTRO, Blue and LFC integrate into Logitech G? Will there be new ASTRO products? Get your questions answered with our official FAQ." A brand manager has since confirmed (via a fan query) that the Blue brand is getting nixxed: "We will be keeping the Yeti brand and moving it under Logitech G. The Blue name will be used to describe our technologies." Logitech spent a cool $177 million when it acquired Blue Microphones back in mid-2018, so it is odd that the company has chosen to drop a very recognizable and popular brand name in the worlds of podcasting, streaming and audio recording.

News outlets have discovered that Blue has been removed from the brands section of Logitech's website, and the Bluemic.com domain now directs back to the parent company's main online presence(s). The Logitech G sub-page has been updated with listings of Yeti, Snowball and other microphone models. A brand manager also outlined ASTRO's future: "(it will) continue to live on as a premium console audio product series underneath the Logitech G brand. Stay tuned for more information regarding ASTRO including a launch that we think our community will be very excited about...We're (also) very excited about ASTRO as a product series under Logitech G."
