The upcoming card features Quimonda memory chips and has a red PCB plus dual-slot cooler. In addition to the extra memory the card also comes with a DisplayPort connector. The 2GB-equipped card will be clocked at 650MHz, 1625MHz and 1800MHz for the GPU, Shaders and memory. Expect it to become available soon.

MSI Working on ‘Powerless’ CPU Cooler

MSI has taken a step to try and reduce computer power consumption slightly by building a processor fan that is powered using only heat given off by the CPU. As the processor heats up, it causes air inside a piston to expand. That forces out the piston rod, which in turn causes the fan to spin and blow air over the heatsink, as shown in the first image below. This then helps to cool the air inside the piston, causing it to contract again, pulling the piston rod back in and cooling the CPU without needing any extra electricity. The technology is by no means a modern idea - it uses a mechanism invented in 1816 by Scottish engineer Robert Stirling - but it's never before been used on a large scale for computing purposes. MSI's fan is capable of converting 70% of the heat energy given off by the CPU into kinetic energy, and the company plans to demo the cooler at next week's CeBIT show in Hanover. However, there is no news of when this fan will become available for purchase, or what prices will be like.

MSI Radeon HD X2600 XT benchmarks

Seems like first RV630 samples are out in the wild. What's interesting besides the framerates is the 65nm architecture which seems to work out fine. Forum member NV6800 on the Coolaler.com forum who tested the card claims his system only drew 197W at full load. That's just 51W more compared to when the system was idle.

The system used for the benches consisted of a Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 Dual-Core with an FSB of 1066 @ 2,933 MHz, two Gigabyte PC2-6400 memory modules and a MSI Radeon HD X2600 XT with 256MB GDDR4 RAM. The GPU was clocked at 800 MHz, while the memory's clock was 1100 MHz.

MSI P6N-Series: nForce 680i and up to four PCI-E slots

Usually I would have presented the Press Release right here. Instead I will write about it with my own words because at the moment you won't find the English Press Release only the German one which horribly translates using Google or something similar.
So now to the facts: MSI today presented it's P6N-Series for Socket 775 Intel CPUs based on the nForce 600i chipsets. The flagship is the P6N Diamond featuring four PCI-Express slots (2x PCIe x16 and 2x PCIe x8), two Gigabit-Ethernet ports, 5x SATA II connectors (Raid 0,1,5,JBOD) and Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme 7.1 Kanal Audio implemented onboard. It comes together with a rather hefty price tag which reads around 300 Euros.
