GIGABYTE Intros Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini-ITX Motherboard

GIGABYTE rolled out its premium SFF gaming PC motherboard that supports 6th generation Core processors, the Z170N-Gaming 5. Bearing the company's coveted G1.Gaming branding, this mini-ITX motherboard supports socket LGA1151 processors, with dual-channel DDR4 memory. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors, and conditions it for the CPU using a 5-phase VRM. MSI Launches the Z170I Gaming Pro AC Mini-ITX Motherboard

MSI launched its premium socket LGA1151 motherboard for the mini-ITX form-factor, the Z170I Gaming Pro AC. The board offers a premium feature-set, including support for dual-channel DDR4 memory, with MSI's DDR4 Boost technology. It draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors, and conditions it using a 5-phase VRM. Expansion slots include a PCI-Express 3.0 x16, an mPCIe (for the WLAN card), and an M.2 (reverse side of the board), with PCI-Express 3.0 x4 wiring.

Storage connectivity includes an M.2 slot (reverse side of the PCB), with 32 Gb/s PCIe bandwidth, and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports, two of which convert to a SATA-Express 16 Gb/s connector. Display outputs include one each of DisplayPort and HDMI. Networking features include a gigabit Ethernet interface (Intel controller), 802.11 ac, and Bluetooth 4.0. ASRock Develops Mini-ITX LGA2011v3 Motherboard with Quad-Channel Memory

They've done it! After building the first LGA2011v3 motherboard in the mini-ITX form-factor, letting you cram up to 8 "Haswell" cores into a lunchbox-sized PC, albeit having to make do with just dual-channel memory; ASRock developed the first mini-ITX motherboard with not just LGA2011v3, but also its full quad-channel memory interface, called the EPC612D4I. There's just one rider, which shouldn't really be a dealbreaker - this is a server-grade motherboard, and is bound to be expensive.

The EPC612D4I achieves its quad-channel memory chops by using smaller DDR4 SO-DIMM slots instead of standard-sized DIMM slots. Availability of aftermarket DDR4 SO-DIMM memory is close to non-existent, but that could change with 6th Generation Core processor notebooks hitting the shelves by Holiday 2015. As an enterprise board, it also supports Xeon E5-1600 V3 and E5-2600 V3 processors.

Scythe Announces the Kodati Rev. B CPU Cooler with AM1 Support

Japanese cooling expert Scythe announces a new revision of its Kodati CPU Cooler. Scythe is one of the first manufacturers to announce a special solution to the market for the socket AM1 (FS1b). Cooltek Unveils UMX1 Plus Mini-ITX Chassis

Cooltek launched the UMX1 Plus premium mini-ITX chassis. Available in a standard and windowed (UMX1 Plus-Window) variant, the case comes in black and silver color options, with brushed aluminium panels decking it. The windowed variant features a tinted acrylic sheet entirely making up the side panel. The aluminium panels of this case are a healthy 2 mm thick, while its SGCC steel frame is 0.8 to 1 mm thick.

Internally, the case has a typical tower-type arrangement, but with a standard ATX PSU bay towards its front side. The case has room for a mini-ITX motherboard, a dual-slot graphics card up to 270 mm long, a CPU cooler up to 130 mm tall, and a PSU up to 160 mm long. Drive bays include one 3.5-inch, and two 2.5-inch. Ventilation is care of a 120 mm top exhaust, and an 80 mm rear exhaust, with passive intake vents at the bottom. Measuring 160 mm x 300 mm x 345 mm (WxDxH), the case dry-weighs about 3.2 kg. Cooltek didn't reveal pricing or availability information.

Antec Launches New Micro-ATX Case ISK600M

Its storage system includes a 5.25-inch drive bay, which can be used up to hold a 3.5-inch drive inside, and another 3.5-inch/2.5-inch discrete drive bay. The case features two expansion slots, and can hold full height graphics cards as long as 300 mm. There's room for CPU coolers as tall as 140 mm. Ventilation includes two 120 mm top exhausts, two 80 mm side exhausts, and an 80 mm rear exhaust. The case features passive intakes at several spots. Xigmatek didn't announce pricing or availability details.
