Ajazz had a brisk show in its Computex 2024 booth, with the main attractions being keyboards with large touchscreens. The first one is a low-profile mechanical keyboard with a 5-inch (well, 4.9-inch) true-color capacitive touchscreen. The keyboard has physical dimensions comparable to the 85% format, but has a 75% layout, with that touchscreen located where you'd expect the Numpad to be. But that's not the strangest contraption, it's actually the Smart Screen Mechanical keyboard. This is also a 75% keyboard, but with a 10.1-inch rectangular screen with a crazy aspect ratio. You plug the keyboard to your PC, and this display as an HDMI device, and basically give yourself a second screen that prove useful for mapping macros in games, or even during creative work. It's just that the keyboard looks like a computer from the 1980s.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect about these keyboards with touchscreens, is that they're not all that expensive. The keyboard with the 10.1-inch screen, for example, is priced under $50. It's quite possible to pull off these prices if you're digging into the spare parts bins of smartphones. Don't need the big touchscreens? Ajazz has one with a tiny LED segment display.

Capacitors take an infinitesimally lower amount of time to gather charge than batteries and tend to be generally lighter, i-Rocks is putting this fact to good use with its Quick Charging Wireless Mouse prototype showcased at the 2024 Computex. The device charges up to full in 5 minutes for 4-30 days of use, depending on the current. If you're in a hurry, just plug it in for a minute, and you can get through the day. Also, the capacitor is rated for 100,000 recharge cycles, compared to the 1,000 cycles that the lithium-ion batteries powering contemporary wireless gaming mice come with. The capacitor is lighter than batteries, and is exempt from the kind of travel and transport restrictions lithium-ion batteries have to deal with—you don't need to put this mouse in your carry-on, and can check it in at the airport. i-Rocks said that they plan to launch this mouse later this year. The company is also working on wireless keyboards based on capacitors.

PowerColor is known more for its AMD Radeon custom-design graphics cards, is entering the gaming peripherals market. The company already had a few mousepads, and a co-branded Ducky keyboard, but is now unveiling some first-party gaming mice. Leading the effort is the Alphyn AM10, a right-oriented wireless gaming mouse that's suitable for palm- and claw grip styles. It comes in black- and white body color options, and supports wireless- and wired connectivity. This includes USB for the least latency, 2.4 GHz RF for lower latency wireless (but which requires a dongle); and Bluetooth. The mouse supports 8K polling rate, Omron optical switches for the main buttons, and macros with onboard memory.

The new addition to the ASUS Republic Of Gamers Harpe Ace gaming mouse series, namely, ROG Harpe Ace Extreme has been showcased by ASUS at Computex 2024 and it fits rather well with the extreme naming. It uses a top shell made of carbon fiber composite, currently the strongest material of all gaming mice on the market. This makes the mouse more durable and less heavy, weighing only 47 grams. Underneath the carbon fiber shell, it sports a 42K DPI ROG AimPoint Pro optical sensor, ROG Optical Micro Switches, and ROG SpeedNova wireless technology.

Moreover, ASUS claims that ROG Harpe Ace Extreme gaming mouse sets new click latency records thanks to ROG Polling Rate Booster technology being able to impressive rates such as 0.86 ms @ 1000 Hz, 0.7 ms @ 2000 Hz, 0.6 ms @ 4000 Hz, and 0.45 ms @ 8000 Hz. To improve movements we have two large mouse feet that are made out of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A switch to select connectivity mode (Bluetooth, USB, Wireless), DPI, and pairing button are found on the mouse base. ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Extreme is expected to hit the markets in Q3 2024, no words about retail price yet.

Computers and technical devices with interactive touchpoints have long been part of basic hospital equipment.
