Hexgears at CES 2019- Hands on with Keyboards and Mice

Hexgears is, in their own words, "a global gaming brand with influences from the USA, Germany, and China". We briefly covered them before thanks to their first adoption of the new Kailh Sun switches, and at CES 2019 they had a booth on the showfloor for this very keyboard and other products. The GK760 from Hexgears is still the only keyboard announced to use those new Sun switches, which effectively allows for a central backlighting similar to Omron switches, while still retaining Cherry MX keycap compatibility. The GK760 is a full-size keyboard with 104 keys and ABS plastic keycaps, which also appear to be low in profile even though the actual switches are not necessarily so. There is an entire column of programmable G-keys (macro keys), as well as a dedicated volume scroll wheel and a thick plushy wrist rest. Read past the break to know more about the products they showed off at CES.

Hands On With Patriot's RGB Mouse Pad, Mechanical Keyboard and Gaming Mice

While visiting Patriot, we also took a moment to examine their latest PC gaming peripherals which included the absurd yet genuinely excellent RGB rollout mouse pad. Available in two sizes (350 x 260 x 3 mm and 900 x 420 x 3 mm) it is made of a polyester and natural rubber with a PCBA and optical fiber material for those sweet RGB LED effects. Speaking of the RGB effects, it offers two zones via software allowing for customization of color and brightness along with flash and breathing modes. Using a button switch will manually allow for seven color options and auto breathing. Overall it was a unique offering that grabbed our attention. Regardless of if you love or hate the RGB fad on some products here it just feels fitting oddly enough.

Razer Makes a Push for Your Living Room With Wireless Xbox One Keyboard, Mouse Kit

Razer has started teasing an upcoming keyboard + mouse combo specifically designed for Xbox couch gamers. Now that Microsoft has added actual keyboard and mouse support to the Xbox console, allowing gamers to use the controllers they feel more comfortable with (or they feel will give them the competitive edge, of course), Razer is looking to cash in on that market. Razer says these have a couch-specific design - which means a keyboard and a mouse thrown together in a board for additional stability on your lap.

It's just a tease, for now, but if you're a Razer fan, you might want to wait for this particular rendition of already-released products (the Corsair Lapdog and Roccat Sova come to mind).

AZIO Adds More Exotic Material Peripherals to Their Portfolio

AZIO Corp underwent a massive makeover in their product line the last few years, focusing on their typewriter-style mechanical keyboards and then doubling down on it to give their products a different look than most others. Their Retro Classic line from last year introduced vegetable-tanned genuine leather to the keyboards, and then there was a special edition that made use of genuine wood trim as well. At Computex this year, AZIO showed more of the same being applied to other products, as well as hinting towards the use of more such unique materials in the future.

The Retro Classic full-size keyboard was shown in a new orange leather color, which went well with an entire system a wrist rest and mouse pads as well. This was next to another wood option, this time a lighter tone that went well with the white keycaps as opposed to the darker grain wood and black keycaps from the previous version. AZIO also showed off more mouse pads under the R.C. Mouse Pad name in two sizes (medium and XL) and multiple genuine leather color options to match the rest of their portfolio.

Ducky Also Announces the Secret 2 Mouse and Hurricane Chairs

Ducky in the recent years have been diversifying their portfolio beyond keyboards, and yet sticking within the realm of peripherals. In one final update of what Ducky brought to Computex this year, we do the same by taking a look at these other offerings. Ducky unveiled their first mouse, the Ducky Secret, nearly three years ago and then brought out the Secret M which was lighter, and smaller. Both used the (then) popular and still excellent Pixart PMW3310 sensor, and this year sees the debut of the new Secret 2 mouse.

Nearly everything gets a makeover here, beginning with the use of a Pixart PMW3360 sensor with a max DPI of 12000, RGB lighting on the side and even a small LCD screen on the back that can display the current mouse settings by toggling between DPI, polling rate and LOD. The Secret 2 uses Omron micro switches and Alps encoder roller as with the previous Secret mice from Ducky, and also retains the PBT plastic construction that should deliver more resistance to finger oils and stains compared to standard ABS plastic used by most mice today. Seen below are some images of the mouse on what appears to be an unannounced, unnamed Ducky mousepad (which is an upcoming product as pointed out by the comments section here based on a social media post from Ducky). More to follow on the chair after the break.

Patriot Viper V765 Keyboard and Viper V551 Mouse Pictured

Patriot Viper brought new gaming peripherals to Computex, with the new Viper V765 mechanical gaming keyboard, and the Viper V551 gaming mouse. The Viper V765 is positioned bang in the middle of the Viper V760 RGB, and the flagship Viper V770. It features a conventional 104-key layout, and retains the mechanical volume rocker, besides four membrane multimedia buttons. The boxy design of the V770 makes way for a more slick, polygonal design, with a blend of "aerospace-grade" aluminium and rubberized plastic cladding. Under the hood is Kailh Red switches, and 16.8 million-color RGB LED backlighting. The Viper V551 is a small step up from the V530. It features an ambidextrous design, an 7-button layout with onboard storage for up to 8 macro profiles, and a silicone diffuser along the bottom half, with 16.8 million-color RGB LED lighting. Under the hood is a 6,200 dpi optical sensor.
