AMD is expected to debut its performance-segment Radeon RX 7600 RDNA3 graphics card in May-June 2023, with board partners expected to show off their custom-design cards in the 2023 Computex (June). Moore's Law is Dead reports that they've spoken to a source with access to an early graphics card sample running the 5 nm "Navi 33" silicon that powers the RX 7600. This card, with development drivers (which are sure to be riddled with performance limiters); offers a 11% performance uplift over the Radeon RX 6650 XT, and a gaming power draw of 175 W (the RX 6650 XT pulls around 185-190 W).

This is still an early sample running development drivers, but a 11% performance boost puts it in the league of the Radeon RX 6700 XT. Should a production RX 7600 with launch-day drivers put on another 5-7% performance over this, the RX 7600 could end up with performance roughly matching the RX 6750 XT (a slim performance lead over the RTX 3070 in 1080p gaming). Should its power draw also hold, one can expect custom-design graphics cards to ship with single 8-pin PCIe power connectors. A couple of nifty specs of the RX 7600 also leaked out in the MLID report: Firstly, that 8 GB will remain the standard memory size for the RX 7600, as it is for the current RX 6650 XT. Secondly, the RX 7600 engine clock is reported to boost "above" 2.60 GHz.

AMD updated its game bundle campaign for Radeon graphics cards to include "The Last of Us Part 1." The new bundle went live as the previous one for "The Callisto Protocol" and "Dead Island 2" ended on February 4. The new bundle includes the latest RX 7000 series graphics cards in its list of eligible products. Starting February 5, new purchases of AMD Radeon graphics cards or prebuilt gaming desktops with them, in select markets and through participating retailers, will be eligible to a free copy of "The Last of Us Part 1." Eligible graphics cards include Radeon RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT, RX 6950 XT, RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, RX 6800, RX 6750 XT, RX 6700 XT, RX 6700, RX 6650 XT, RX 6600 XT, RX 6600, RX 6500 XT, and RX 6400, so the full stack of desktop AMD Radeon RX 6000 series and RX 7000 series products, are eligible.

In a bid to clear inventory of its Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards in the lead up to its next-generation, AMD is bundling two of the latest AAA game titles. Besides this, the company has significantly lowered prices of its RX 6000 series over several months now. New purchases of the Radeon RX 6600, RX 6600 XT, RX 6650 XT, RX 6700, RX 6700 XT, RX 6750 XT, RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, RX 6900 XT, and RX 6950 XT, will receive both games. AMD has come up with new MSRPs for its Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards, in a bid to better compete against NVIDIA's RTX 30-series high-end cards, as the product lifecycles of both companies draw to a close. The new price list was finalized on September 15, and is beginning to take effect in popular online retailers. The latest prices see the top Radeon RX 6950 XT at $949, and the RX 6900 XT $699. The latter offers better value, as it's within 5% of the RX 6950 XT, while being $250 cheaper. The RX 6800 XT drops to $599, which makes it $100 cheaper still than the RX 6900 XT, while being within 5% relative performance. If you can find an RX 6800 (non-XT), its MSRP is set at $549.

MSRP cuts also take effect on performance-segment and mid-range SKUs. The RX 6750 XT is now a $419 SKU, and the RX 6700 XT is just $379. Both cards perform in the league of the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070, making them interesting SKUs to consider. The RX 6650 XT, which replaces the RX 6600 XT from the product stack, is priced at $299. If you can find an RX 6600 XT, it should start around the $239-mark. The entry-level RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 are finally under the $200-mark where they belong, with the RX 6500 XT going for $169, and the RX 6400 at $149. NVIDIA already debuted its RTX 40-series "Ada" graphics cards, but only at the very high-end, with the RTX 4090 expected to go on sale mid-October, at $1,600. AMD's next generation will be unveiled on November 3.

AMD today gave its Radeon RX 6000 series a pretty broad-ranging update with the introduction of three new SKUs, the Radeon RX 6950 XT, the RX 6750 XT, and the RX 6650 XT. The RX 6950 XT and RX 6750 XT are positioned at competitive price-points of $1,099 and $549, respectively, and they push the RX 6900 XT and RX 6700 XT down to lower price-points. The RX 6650 XT, however, replaces the RX 6600 XT at $399, which gets retired from the product-stack.

All three of these are based on the same 7 nm (TSMC N7) silicon fabrication node, and the same exact RDNA2 architecture as the cards they're displacing/replacing; but AMD has developed them in three distinct directions. The first of course is at the firmware/software level, which is a mysterious secret-sauce and probably has to do with the boosting algorithm. The second is increased GPU clocks, and the third is faster memory, with 18 Gbps-rated GDDR6 memory deployed on all three cards. Next week AMD will be announcing its refreshed Radeon RX 6x50 XT graphics cards, but courtesy of VideoCardz, the pricing is already available. The site managed to get hold of one of the slides from next weeks' launch, which details the three new cards, the Radeon RX 6650 XT, RX 6750 XT and RX 6950 XT. All three cards are fairly minor refreshes that will receive a small bump in boost speeds across the board and the RX 6650 XT and RX 6750 XT will also see a bump in memory clocks from 16 Gbps to 17.5 and 18 Gbps respectively. All three cards will also see a bump in TBP power, with the two lower-end cards getting a 20 W increase and the RX 6950 XT getting a 35 W bump.

However, the bigger issue here is AMD's new pricing, which isn't going to appeal to anyone. The RX 6650 XT is seeing a $20 bump over the RX 6600 XT to $399, whereas the RX 6750 XT is getting a $70 price bump, which places it mere $30 below the RX 6800 at $549. Finally the RX 6950 XT will retail at $1,099 or $100 more than the RX 6900 XT. Keep in mind that this is based on AMD's reference card pricing and partner cards are likely to be priced higher. All three cards should be available on the launch day, which is the 10th of May.

TechPowerUp today released the latest version of TechPowerUp GPU-Z, the popular graphics sub-system information, diagnostic, and monitoring utility. Version 2.46.0 introduces support for the AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT, and RX 6650 XT. It also improves support for Intel Arc "Alchemist" GPUs. Support is added for rare graphics cards, such as the GA107-based GeForce RTX 2050, and NVIDIA A30. Support is also improved for Xe LP-based iGPUs in "Alder Lake" mobile processors, and the Glenfly GPU. The core driver of GPU-Z has been updated to no longer require an SSE2-capable CPU. AMD's 2022-series drivers are correctly labeled as "AMD Software." Resizable BAR misreading on AGP graphics cards has been fixed.

The upcoming AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT has recently appeared in a benchmark listing on the GFXBench website where it performed 2% faster than the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT. The Radeon RX 6750 XT is an upcoming refresh of the RX 6700 XT featuring faster GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps and increased clock speeds. The RX 6750 XT achieved a score of 366.5 FPS in the single GFXBench 5.0 Aztec Ruins High Tier off-screen entry which is 2% faster than the average RX 6700 XT score at 362.2 FPS for the same test. This initial test is not likely to be a representative sample of the card's performance but we would expect further tests to leak in the coming days. The AMD Radeon RX 6750XT is set to be officially unveiled on May 10th and will gradually replace existing RX 6700 XT offerings.

Update: The card has also been tested in various other GFXBench 5.0 tests including Aztec Ruins Normal Tier, Manhattan, and T-Rex where it achieves scores 6% - 12% above the RX 6700 XT.

AMD's Radeon RX product stack refresh for Spring-Summer, is reportedly set to launch on May 10, 2022. Here's the first picture of what a reference-design RX 6950 XT flagship, RX 6750 XT, and the mid-range RX 6650 XT, could look like. These reference board designs are essentially identical to the original RX 6000 made-by-AMD (MBA) reference designs, but ditch the two-tone silver+black color-scheme for an all-black scheme with some diamond-cut edges around the fan vents, and some piano-black accents.

At this point it is not known if this refresh sees the Navi 20-series ASICs optically-shrunk to the TSMC N6 (6 nm) silicon fabrication node, or if it's the existing 7 nm ASICs with their total graphics power (TGP) values dialed up to make room for increased engine clocks, and faster 18 Gbps-rated GDDR6 memory chips. It's interesting to see the RX 6750 XT now come with a triple-fan cooler that resembles the RX 6800 (non-XT) cooler in design, if not color. We're not sure if the RX 6650 XT reference design will ever make it to the real-world, or if it's just a concept, and the SKU is an AIB-exclusive (custom-designs only).

TechPowerUp today released the latest version of TechPowerUp GPU-Z, the graphics sub-system information and diagnostic utility. Version 2.45 introduces support for a number of new GPUs. On the NVIDIA side, we have the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, RTX 3060 Ti (GA103-based), RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU, T1000 8 GB, T400, CMP 170HX, and A16. On the AMD side, we have the Radeon RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT, RX 6800S, RX 6700S, RX 6850M XT, RX 6650M XT, W6400, "Barcelo" APU, "Rembrandt APU," and Valve Steam Deck GPU. Preliminary support is also added for Intel Arc "Alchemist" series. Memory size reporting of NVIDIA "Ampere" was improved. Also improved is support for Intel "Alder Lake" iGPUs, support for HBM and DDR4 memory on NVIDIA, and improved "GA106" transistor count.

The rumor mill is attempting to nail down the specific launch date of AMD's purported RDNA 2 series refresh. According to renowned leaker Enthusiastic Citizen over at Chiphell forums, AMD is now planning to launch updated versions of its RDNA2 graphics cards around April 20th or April 21st. It seems that AMD is updating three different SKUs based on the RDNA2 silicon, perhaps in order to increase their market attractiveness (and competitiveness) against both NVIDIA's lineup and Intel's upcoming Arc Alchemist series, which is expected to launch in the next several weeks as well.

The new cards, which are expected to carry updated model names, are currently expected to be the RX 6950XT (a response to NVIDIA's oft-delayed RTX 3090 Ti graphics card), the RX 6750XT (likely meant to compete against Intel's upcoming Arc Alchemist A700 series, and the RX 6650XT. The only available details purport to the RX 6950XT, which is expected to not only carry upgraded 18 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM, but also an increased power limit of 350 W (above the 300 W from the reference RX 6900XT. The other two GPU updates should follow suit along the memory frequency and power consumption increases.
