SilverStone Starts Shipping the SX700-G SFX Power Supply

SilverStone began shipping the SX700-G, the most powerful power supply in the SFX form-factor, with a nameplate capacity of 700W. This unit is designed for compact builds with bleeding-edge hardware, including up to two high-end graphics cards. Its fully modular cabling includes four 6+2 pin PCIe power, one 4+4 pin EPS, a 24-pin ATX, six SATA power, three Molex, and a Berg. Under the hood, the SX700-G features a single +12V rail design, with 700W output rated just for this 58.4A rail; and 110W for the +3.3V and +5V rails. The unit boasts of 80 Plus Gold efficiency.

Besides active PFC, you get most common electrical protections, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. Keeping things cool is a 92 mm fan with fluid-dynamic bearing, with a minimum noise output of 18 dBA. SilverStone will first release the SX700-G in North America around mid-December, with availability in Europe following two weeks after that. In the US, it will be priced at USD $159.99, AUD $179.99 Down Under, and 139.99€ (excluding VAT) in the EU.

CORSAIR's Upcoming SF750 PSU Leaked by Manual Revision Error

We might need more than the fingers on our hands to count the number of times upcoming products have been inadvertently been leaked by a reseller, and CORSAIR is the latest to have joined this list when not one, but two separate Reddit users shared details of the upcoming SF750 80 Plus Platinum SFX form factor power supply. For those who came in late, CORSAIR began their venture into the SFX form factor for PSUs with the 80 Plus rated SF600 and SF450, at 600 and 450 W respectively, and with a relatively large 92 mm fan that resulted in an efficient, quieter-than-average small form factor PSU. This was followed up by the SF600 and SF450 80 Plus Platinum rated PSUs, and now we have word of the third entry to this series.

CORSAIR, Silverstone, and a few others have been trying to one-up each other in the PSU power density metric, and the leaked SF750 will definitely be among the leaders there. The leak came up via an error in the publication of user manuals, as confirmed by Jon "Jonnyguru" Gerow himself, and the product appears to follow the trend of the series with a zero RPM mode at low loads, and plenty of cable outputs. Interestingly, there appear to be two 8-pin EPS connectors for those wanting to go with an SFF build with an Intel or AMD HEDT platform as well. The SFF market never really got the boom it was promising, so time will tell whether this will be a positive boost or not.

In Win Intros Compact Series 700W SFX Power Supply

In Win today introduced the Compact Series 700-Watt power-supply in the SFX form-factor. At 125 mm x 100 mm x 63 mm (WxDxH), this PSU is firmly sticks to the SFX specification, and not SFX-L. There's still enough juice on tap to power a compact build with a flagship graphics card, such as the RTX 2080 Ti, or TITAN V. The CS700W from In Win achieves its Wattage through a single +12V rail design, which boasts of 80 Plus Gold efficiency. The unit features Active PFC, and most common electrical protections, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit.

The In Win CS700W offers fully modular cabling, with flat bunched ribbon-type cables that are easier to bend. Its connectivity is HEDT-friendly: you get one 24-pin ATX, two 4+4 pin EPS, four 6+2 pin PCIe power, eight SATA power, four Molex, and one Berg. The unit is cooled by a 92 mm fluid bearing fan, with a typical noise output of 18 dBA. The CS700W is backed by a 5-year warranty, the company didn't reveal pricing.

AeroCool Intros Playa Slim Micro-ATX Case

Storage options include a 5.25-inch drive bay (which you'll need for your Blu-ray drive), and a 2.5-inch internal drive bay. Ventilation includes just two 80 mm fan vents. Front-panel connectivity includes two USB 3.0 type-A ports, and HDA jacks, although an IR receiver is a notable absentee. An concealed power-supply bay holds SFX PSUs, with an AC receptacle relaying power to it. The case measures 100 mm x 380 mm x 300 mm (WxDxH), weighing about 2.6 kg.

Be Quiet! Announces SFX L Power PSU Series

Be Quiet!, the market leader in PC power supplies in Germany for eleven consecutive years, presents the SFX L Power power supply. As powerful and compact PCs for multimedia and gaming are finding their way into living rooms, be quiet!'s SFX L Power was designed to meet the rising demand for high efficiency and silent cooling in small form factor computers. The new power supply series does not make the SFX Power 2 series obsolete, but SFX L Power is the highest performing alternative amongst be quiet!'s compact form factor PSUs.

SFX form factor power supplies commonly use 80-millimeter fans that are required to rotate faster to equally perform like larger fans and produce more noise. Choosing the slightly longer SFX-L form factor enables be quiet! to install a silent, temperature-controlled 120-millimeter fan inside SFX L Power. The power supply still fits in most chassis and is ideal for powerful mini ITX systems, and small ATX systems thanks to the included ATX adapter bracket. With SFX L Power, users can expect silent operation to power their compact gaming or multimedia systems.

The Project S Midi is designed for micro-ATX builds, with its PSU and drive bays located where you'd expect them to be in a common tower-type case. The Project S (standard) is where the action is - capable of seating ATX motherboards, this case has loads of room for your liquid cooling setup. All three cases are characterized by a brushed-finish aluminium front panel that protrudes out of the fascia.

Lian-Li Releases the PC-O10 Dual-Compartment Mid Tower

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd is eager to announce its next O-series case: the PC-O10 dual-compartment chassis. Like the PC-O9, this case is divided into two chambers for easy organization - users can create immaculate, picturesque builds without spending hours planning cable management. By adopting the SFX/SFX-L PSU form factor, the PC-O10 has a much slimmer profile compared to the PC-O9 and PC-O8. Lian Li cut the proportions to match that of a conventional tower, while maintaining the attractive and functional half glass, half aluminum design. With power efficiency ever on the rise, and an increasing number of high-wattage SFX-L PSUs available, enthusiasts no longer need to encumber their cases with bulky traditional ATX PSUs.

In spite of its leaner dimensions, the PC-O10 still fits E-ATX and Full ATX as well as microATX motherboards. With seven expansion slots, it supports multi-GPU setups with VGA cards as large as 340mm: plenty of room for even the best gaming builds. It accommodates CPU coolers as tall as 130mm. The PSU compartment can store up to four 3.5" and two 2.5" drives, with space in the main glass compartment for an additional 2.5" SSD. The dual-compartment layout puts attractive components in the limelight, while keeping cables, drives, and other less desirable parts out of sight.
