SilverStone Starts Shipping the SX700-G SFX Power Supply
SilverStone began shipping the SX700-G, the most powerful power supply in the SFX form-factor, with a nameplate capacity of 700W. This unit is designed for compact builds with bleeding-edge hardware, including up to two high-end graphics cards. Its fully modular cabling includes four 6+2 pin PCIe power, one 4+4 pin EPS, a 24-pin ATX, six SATA power, three Molex, and a Berg. Under the hood, the SX700-G features a single +12V rail design, with 700W output rated just for this 58.4A rail; and 110W for the +3.3V and +5V rails. The unit boasts of 80 Plus Gold efficiency.
Besides active PFC, you get most common electrical protections, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. Keeping things cool is a 92 mm fan with fluid-dynamic bearing, with a minimum noise output of 18 dBA. SilverStone will first release the SX700-G in North America around mid-December, with availability in Europe following two weeks after that. In the US, it will be priced at USD $159.99, AUD $179.99 Down Under, and 139.99€ (excluding VAT) in the EU.
