Sharkoon Announces A Trio of Gaming Mousepads

Sharkoon introduces three new gaming mouse pads, each for different applications. The stable Sharkoon 1337 Tough Gaming Mouse Pad, with its finely textured hard plastic surface, is especially designed for Teflon skates, providing maximum acceleration and precision movements. The underneath "rubber base" creates a non-slip grip even in the most action packed game situations. The natural rubber attaches itself firmly to any surface and also compensates for minor irregularities. With edge lengths of 355 x 255 mm and a low height of 3 mm, the pad provides ample action gaming space and convenience. "Tough" not only refers to the material, but also the design: The black background sports a yellow "Danger Shark Zone" warning logo. The mouse pad weighs 220 g.

Sharkoon Announces the X-Tatic Air Wireless Gaming Headset

Sharkoon is expanding their range of gaming headsets with a wireless version. The X-Tatic Air wireless multiplatform headset was developed specifically for the needs of console gamers. The stereo headset is compatible with Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PC and notebooks as well as TV sets and other sound sources with RCA audio outputs.

Installation is quite simple: The transmitter is quickly connected to the respective terminal through the enclosed adapter. Of course, all voice chat features on the consoles are fully supported. In regards to the PS3, the microphone function is connected directly to the gaming console via USB. The microphone input on the Xbox 360 controller is simply connected to the headset through the enclosed chat cable.

Sharkoon Also Readies the REX3 Value and REX3 Economy Cases

In addition to releasing the REX8 models Sharkoon is also preparing the introduction of two more midi tower PC cases, the REX3 Value and REX3 Economy. These entry-level chassis' are as big as the REX8 models (485 x 185 x 420 mm), they weight 6.5 kg and have three 5.25-inch and four 3.5-inch drive bays, a mesh front panel, six USB ports (6 x USB 2.0 for the Economy, 2 x USB 3.0 and 4 x USB 2.0 for the Value), seven PCI slots, and three holes for watercooling tubes on the back panel. Both cases support graphics cards up to 29 cm long and CPU coolers up to 16 cm tall. The REX3 Value also comes with two 120 mm LED fans, one in front and one at the rear.

The REX3 Economy will be available in black and the REX3 Value will come in black and white (and with a side window).

Sharkoon Rolls Out the REX8 Midi Tower PC Cases

Sharkoon has this week released a couple of new cases, the REX8 Value and REX8 Economy midi towers. Both models measure 485 (L) x 185 (W) x 420 (H) mm and feature six USB ports (2 x USB 3.0 plus 4 x USB 2.0 on the Value, 6 x USB 2.0 on the Economy), four 5.25-inch and four 3.5/2.5-inch drive bays, a mesh front panel, seven PCI slots, and three pre-drilled holes on the back panel for watercooling tubing.

The REX8 Economy comes only in black and costs about €39, while the REX8 Value, with its two pre-installed 120 mm fans (both equipped with LEDs) and side window, is available in both black (~ €46) and white (~ €48).

Sharkoon Announces Vertical Docking Station for SATA Hard Drives

Sharkoon presents two external hard drive docking stations for the USB3.0 interface, in which unobstructed SATA hard drives can be quickly and without effort connected to a computer or notebook. The two Sharkoon Vertical Docking USB3.0 stations, with a choice of either one or two fast-swap bays for SATA hard drives in 3.5 inch format, are equipped internally with a SATA II interface and externally with a USB3.0 SuperSpeed interface.

The disks are easily inserted upright lengthwise into the hard drive bay. A lockable front flap secures the drives against unwanted access while a rear fan helps prevent unwanted heat. The Sharkoon Vertical Docking Single USB3.0 Station with its hard drive bay and 40 mm fan measures 212 x 44 x 129 mm (L x W x H) and weighs 650 g. The Sharkoon Vertical Docking Duo USB3.0 Station with its two individually lockable hard drive bays and 50 mm fan measures 222 x 83 x 134 mm (L x W x H) and weighs 860 g.

Sharkoon presents the successor to their "X-Tatic Digital" 5.1 Dolby Digital headset series: The Sharkoon X-Tatic Pro comes with an improved design, more connectivity options and an additional Microphone Voice Monitoring (MVM) feature.

Designed to meet the needs of Gamers, the Sharkoon X-Tatic Pro delivers its full functional range to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming consoles. With Dolby Digital decoder and Chat support, it provides optimal gaming sound with realistic 3D tone and spatial sound location on both platforms. Sharkoon Announces Card Reader and USB Hub for USB 3.0 Interface

Sharkoon is expanding their portfolio of USB3.0 devices: New products now available are an internal card reader, an external card reader and an external 4-Port USB3.0 hub for a SuperSpeed interface.

The Sharkoon Internal USB3.0 Card Reader can be mounted in either a 3.5 inch bay or with the illuminated adapter frame in a 5.25 inch bay to the PC case. To connect the external USB3.0 mainboard a 100 cm long USB3.0 cable with matching compatible bracket is attached. The unit supports SD (HC), SDXC, MMC, MS and CF, the most common card formats. Sharkoon 3-in-1 QuickPort with eSATA, USB3.0 Now Comes with FireWire

Sharkoon is expanding their range of "QuickPort" docking stations: The Sharkoon SATA QuickPort U3 FireWire is a true all-round talent in terms of fast data transfer and connectivity diversity. The hard drive adapter not only supports the eponymous FireWire standard, but with USB3.0 and eSATA also two other external interface standards. With the additional FireWire port Sharkoon now especially appeals to the Mac community, since their Apple devices primarily use a FireWire interface.

The new QuickPort model also provides three IEEE-1394 ports: one for the older 1394a standard (FireWire 400) and two for the faster 1394b standard (FireWire 800). The appropriate connection cables for all available ports are enclosed. The internal SATA interface supports the SATA standards 1.5 Gb/s to 6 Gb/s.

Sharkoon Announces Tactix Gaming Keyboard

Sharkoon announces the launch of the Tactix gaming keyboard. The Sharkoon Tactix Gaming Keyboard comes with an 18-key rollover, interchangeable WASD and Arrow keys. The black keyboard eliminates the need for multimedia keys and offers compact dimensions of 431 x 136 x 24 mm for a space saving design. Delivery also includes a handy, detachable wrist rest. The Sharkoon Tactix supports N-key rollover for up to 18 keys, now several key commands can simultaneously be performed quickly and precisely during action-packed gaming situations. Important for gamers is that the WASD and Arrow keys are highlighted in a nonslip rubber blue coating. For users who prefer a more discreet design, keys are in the default layout together with replacement tool.

Sharkoon Launches X-Tatic S7 Headset with Dolby Pro Logic II Support

With the Sharkoon X-Tatic S7, Sharkoon has thankfully updated the sound format by providing two additional sound channels for authentic and room-filling 7.1 surround sound. The headset supports the new "Dolby ProLogic" version IIx, which combined with "Dolby Headphone" technology generates authentic and room-filling 7.1 Sound for stereo headsets from analog stereo signals and digital 5.1 Dolby Digital signals.

In addition, Sharkoon has replaced the previous USB2.0 cable for an included USB2.0 Y-cable, providing a stable energy supply to the headset via a second USB port for current or weaker sound sources.

Sharkoon Announces New Multi-Bay RAID Enclosures

Sharkoon is expanding its assortment of external RAID hard drive enclosures: The Sharkoon 5-Bay RAID Station and the Sharkoon 8-Bay RAID Station contain both 2.5 and also 3.5 inch SATA hard drives. With its fast RAID controller, simple handling and high-quality finish, they together form a perfect base as a fail-safe backup system for private media collections or SOHO environments.

Both cases are presented in a classy medal design from black SECC steel. Concealed behind the plastic front door with a mesh insert is the mounting frame for hard drives in both 2.5 and 3.5 inch formats. The ergonomic design and rubberized sides ensure that the associated dragon rider has a comfortable and secure ride during long and turbulent missions.

The fire of the Drakonia burns from within: The AVAGO-ADNS-9500 laser sensor delivers to up 5,000 DPI resolution, 11,750 FPS frame rate, 30 G acceleration and 150 IPS speed. Sharkoon Announces Skiller Gaming Keyboard

Sharkoon brings to the market another innovation from its gaming lineup featured at CeBIT: The Sharkoon Skiller gaming keyboard comes with an 18-key rollover, interchangeable WASD and cursor keys, and software for creating up to ten keyboard profiles.

Visually, the Skiller has defining corners and edges: The black keyboard comes in a striking geometric design; an additional eye-catcher is the blue illuminated Skiller logo in the palm rest. Gamers who want to highlight and haptic their WASD and Cursor keys will find enclosed eight interchangeable rubber keys all in blue. In addition to the 107 standard keys, the Sharkoon Skiller has 20 multimedia keys for Internet and Media applications.

Sharkoon DarkGlider Gaming Mouse Generally Available

Sharkoon has let its latest rodent loose: the DarkGlider gaming mouse presented at CeBIT is now available on the market. The Sharkoon DarkGlider is the high-end model presented in Hannover under Sharkoon's gaming input devices. Under its ergonomically designed, secure-grip rubber cover in matte black sits the latest version of the ADNS-9500 LaserSensor Sensors. The mouse contains up to a 6,000 DPI resolution, 11,750 FPS frame rate, 30 G maximum acceleration, a millisecond response time and a maximum 5 mm liftoff distance as a very precise, reliable and responsive playmate. The DarkGlider glides on five lenticular ceramic feet, which cannot afford to support any significant sliding resistance. The DPI sampling rate can be arbitrarily set and read in the illuminated LED display.

Sharkoon Introduces the X-Tatic SP Plus Stereo Headset

Sharkoon presents the successor to their "X-Tatic SP" console headset: The new version of the "X-Tatic SP Plus" comes with simplified connectivity and optimized wearing comfort. The stereo headset is designed particularly for use with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox360, delivering first-class sound with its premium 40 mm Neodymium magnet speakers, but can also be used with a PC, Notebook, MP3 players and Smartphones.

Sharkoon has equipped the new model with a flexible headband, which reduces pressure on the ears and thus ensures a comfortable fit. Also new are the configurations of the two microphones: The user has the choice between an approximately 15 cm long, flexible adjustable chat microphone for gaming use and a compact mini-microphone for use while talking on a smartphone.

Sharkoon releases its CeBIT introduced Nightwriter gaming keyboard into the market. With the Sharkoon Nightwriter the PC accessory and gaming specialist present a gaming keyboard in which users can easily use in darkened environments - and in addition looks very stylish. The matte black, low-profile keyboard features a classic three-block layout with a switchable blue LED backlight to illuminate the transparent labeled keys. In addition to the 105 standard keys, the Nightwriter offers thirteen multimedia keys which facilitate the use of E-mail, Internet and Media Players.

Sharkoon Releases Rebel9 Alu U3 and Nightfall U3 with USB 3.0 Interface

Sharkoon reissues two of their upgraded PC towers: The Sharkoon Nightfall and the Sharkoon Rebel9 Aluminium are now available with a front USB 3.0. Sharkoon has replaced the existing eSATA port on both Midi ATX towers with a SuperSpeed USB interface. For the internal USB 3.0 port, a 19-pin connector cable is available for mainboards with a USB 3.0 header.

Both towers present themselves with an elegant, black-finished aluminium front, including a high-quality "diamond cut" edging and detachable drive covers. The SECC case on both models, with its exterior and interior black finish, are identical; differences consist in the front design and with the drive installation options.

Sharkoon is expanding their "QuickPort" product line. In addition to their popular external docking stations for unobstructed hard drives, the accessory specialist has maintained an assortment of removable, internal SATA hard drive frames known as the "QuickPort Internal" series.

With the Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Intern Multi, Sharkoon now presents a 2-in-1 model, in which two SATA hard drives can operate with a different form factor concurrently: The Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Intern Multi fits into a 5.25 inch bay and offers two separate trays for either a hard drive or SSD in 2.5 inch format, and 3.5 inch SATA hard drives.

Sharkoon Introduces Gaming Lineup

CeBIT 2012 for Sharkoon is all about Gaming: The accessory specialist presents a new lineup of mice, mouse pads and keyboards for PC Gamers.

The flagship under the new input devices is the Sharkoon DarkGlider Mouse. Under a matte black rubberized surface and grip, the latest version of the Avago ADNS-9500 laser sensor operates at up to 6,000 DPI resolution and 11,750 FPS frame rate. Mouse movements with acceleration up to 30G are transmitted without loss and without delay; the key response time is one millisecond. A bright red LCD display indicates the selected DPI rate. Ten programmable keys, a 4-way scroll wheel, Weight Tuning System and the 256 kilobyte large onboard memory enables a wide-range of installation options and multiple user profiles. The use of high-quality materials is noticeable in the durable ceramic glide feet, the gold-plated USB plug and the textile case of the connector cable.

Sharkoon Teases with DarkGlider Gaming Mouse

Sharkoon released the first picture of its upcoming high-end gaming mouse, named DarkGlider. The teaser pic reveals the mouse to be right-hand oriented, and using a laser-based tracking mechanism. The top-left corner of the mouse, next to the left-click button, reveals a small LCD display with a readout "6000", possibly indicating its resolution to be 6,000 dpi. Apart from its three main buttons, the mouse has a 2-axis scroll-wheel, sensitivity adjustments, macro selection, and two side buttons. Sharkoon will announce the DarkGlider at this year's CeBIT event, in March.

Sharkoon Intros Internal USB 3.0 Adapter

Apart from the three USB 3.0 front-panel models that were unveiled last week, Sharkoon announced the market launch of a cute little USB 3.0 Internal Adapter accessory that converts a standard 2-port USB 3.0 front-panel header to two type-A USB 3.0 ports. The accessory is as simple as a tiny PCB with a front-panel header socket on one end, a 2-port type-A USB 3.0 port cluster on the other, and some insulation. This accessory could be useful if you want to boot off or maintain a "secret" USB 3.0 flash drive or portable HDD/SSD, and ensure it doesn't stick out of your PC case. The Sharkoon Internal USB 3.0 Adapter is priced at €5.99.

Sharkoon Releases a Trio of 3.5-inch USB 3.0 Front Panels

Sharkoon Technologies has now introduced not one but three 3.5-inch front panels which offer easier access to a few precious USB 3.0 (aka SuperSpeed USB) ports. Two of the panels, the A and B models, include two USB 3.0 connectors, while the C version provides four ports.

The USB 3.0 Frontpanel A connects to two external SuperSpeed USB ports and costs 12.54 Euro, while the Frontpanel B and C, which can be hooked up to internal USB 3.0 headers, are selling for 11.51 Euro and 15.79 Euro, respectively.

Sharkoon Announces T28 Case for Long Graphics Cards

Sharkoon presents another series of cases: Available in three color editions, the Sharkoon T28 offers a lot of space especially for hard drive installation, thankfully due to the removable hard drive cage, and also perfect for extra-long graphic cards.

Externally the Sharkoon T28 offers a black body and a rectilinear mesh front design. Power and Reset buttons are elegantly chromed. In regards to the front connectors, Audio In/Out stands ready between three USB2.0 ports and a USB3.0 interface. An acrylic window on the left side panel gives an insight into the interior of the colored mainboard tray. Choose from three color editions: Red, green, and for the first time after numerous customer suggestions, blue. Also, the operating and hard drive LEDs illuminate in the edition color as well as the three pre-installed 120 mm fans. Two fans rotate in the front, the third in the back. All possess a 4-pin power supply and a 3-pin mainboard connector.

Sharkoon Debuts the Tauron Midi-Tower PC Case

Sharkoon Technologies has finished off the work week by rolling out a brand new PC chassis, the midi-tower known as Tauron which measures 510 (L) x 205 (W) x 495 (H) mm, weights 9.5kg, and comes in three color versions - black with a red interior, black with a green interior, and all-white.

The Tauron supports micro ATX and ATX motherboards and has a top-placed I/O panel (2 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0 and 2 x audio ports), mesh panels both on top and in front, an acrylic side window, two exposed 5.25-inch bays, and seven removable 2.5/3.5-inch drive trays.

Sharkoon Announces QuickDeck Pro USB 3.0 HDD Dock

In addition to their well-known "QuickPort" docking stations, which provide computer connection to unobstructed SATA hard drives, the Sharkoon "QuickDeck" has long been a table adapter in their product line in which data mediums are not standing upright, but rather inserted laying down. The Sharkoon QuickDeck is also immediately available in a "Pro" edition, with a USB3.0 port and stacking feet.

The Sharkoon QuickDeck offers room for SATA hard drives in both 2.5 and 3.5 in formats. The drives are simply inserted horizontally into the front and open top plastic frame. A rail fixed to the floor folds up for smaller 2.5 inch hard drives. The hard drive can be easily detached from the QuickDeck with the help of an ejection lever attached with the SATA port. External connection occurs over the fast USB3.0 port.
