Sharkoon Introduces Gaming Lineup

CeBIT 2012 for Sharkoon is all about Gaming: The accessory specialist presents a new lineup of mice, mouse pads and keyboards for PC Gamers.

The flagship under the new input devices is the Sharkoon DarkGlider Mouse. Under a matte black rubberized surface and grip, the latest version of the Avago ADNS-9500 laser sensor operates at up to 6,000 DPI resolution and 11,750 FPS frame rate. Mouse movements with acceleration up to 30G are transmitted without loss and without delay; the key response time is one millisecond. A bright red LCD display indicates the selected DPI rate. Ten programmable keys, a 4-way scroll wheel, Weight Tuning System and the 256 kilobyte large onboard memory enables a wide-range of installation options and multiple user profiles. The use of high-quality materials is noticeable in the durable ceramic glide feet, the gold-plated USB plug and the textile case of the connector cable.

Sharkoon Teases with DarkGlider Gaming Mouse

Sharkoon released the first picture of its upcoming high-end gaming mouse, named DarkGlider. The teaser pic reveals the mouse to be right-hand oriented, and using a laser-based tracking mechanism. The top-left corner of the mouse, next to the left-click button, reveals a small LCD display with a readout "6000", possibly indicating its resolution to be 6,000 dpi. Apart from its three main buttons, the mouse has a 2-axis scroll-wheel, sensitivity adjustments, macro selection, and two side buttons. Sharkoon will announce the DarkGlider at this year's CeBIT event, in March.

Sharkoon Intros Internal USB 3.0 Adapter

Apart from the three USB 3.0 front-panel models that were unveiled last week, Sharkoon announced the market launch of a cute little USB 3.0 Internal Adapter accessory that converts a standard 2-port USB 3.0 front-panel header to two type-A USB 3.0 ports. The accessory is as simple as a tiny PCB with a front-panel header socket on one end, a 2-port type-A USB 3.0 port cluster on the other, and some insulation. This accessory could be useful if you want to boot off or maintain a "secret" USB 3.0 flash drive or portable HDD/SSD, and ensure it doesn't stick out of your PC case. The Sharkoon Internal USB 3.0 Adapter is priced at €5.99.

Sharkoon Releases a Trio of 3.5-inch USB 3.0 Front Panels

Sharkoon Technologies has now introduced not one but three 3.5-inch front panels which offer easier access to a few precious USB 3.0 (aka SuperSpeed USB) ports. Two of the panels, the A and B models, include two USB 3.0 connectors, while the C version provides four ports.

The USB 3.0 Frontpanel A connects to two external SuperSpeed USB ports and costs 12.54 Euro, while the Frontpanel B and C, which can be hooked up to internal USB 3.0 headers, are selling for 11.51 Euro and 15.79 Euro, respectively.

Sharkoon Announces T28 Case for Long Graphics Cards

Sharkoon presents another series of cases: Available in three color editions, the Sharkoon T28 offers a lot of space especially for hard drive installation, thankfully due to the removable hard drive cage, and also perfect for extra-long graphic cards.

Externally the Sharkoon T28 offers a black body and a rectilinear mesh front design. Power and Reset buttons are elegantly chromed. In regards to the front connectors, Audio In/Out stands ready between three USB2.0 ports and a USB3.0 interface. An acrylic window on the left side panel gives an insight into the interior of the colored mainboard tray. Choose from three color editions: Red, green, and for the first time after numerous customer suggestions, blue. Also, the operating and hard drive LEDs illuminate in the edition color as well as the three pre-installed 120 mm fans. Two fans rotate in the front, the third in the back. All possess a 4-pin power supply and a 3-pin mainboard connector.

Sharkoon Debuts the Tauron Midi-Tower PC Case

Sharkoon Technologies has finished off the work week by rolling out a brand new PC chassis, the midi-tower known as Tauron which measures 510 (L) x 205 (W) x 495 (H) mm, weights 9.5kg, and comes in three color versions - black with a red interior, black with a green interior, and all-white.

The Tauron supports micro ATX and ATX motherboards and has a top-placed I/O panel (2 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0 and 2 x audio ports), mesh panels both on top and in front, an acrylic side window, two exposed 5.25-inch bays, and seven removable 2.5/3.5-inch drive trays.

Sharkoon Announces QuickDeck Pro USB 3.0 HDD Dock

In addition to their well-known "QuickPort" docking stations, which provide computer connection to unobstructed SATA hard drives, the Sharkoon "QuickDeck" has long been a table adapter in their product line in which data mediums are not standing upright, but rather inserted laying down. The Sharkoon QuickDeck is also immediately available in a "Pro" edition, with a USB3.0 port and stacking feet.

The Sharkoon QuickDeck offers room for SATA hard drives in both 2.5 and 3.5 in formats. The drives are simply inserted horizontally into the front and open top plastic frame. A rail fixed to the floor folds up for smaller 2.5 inch hard drives. The hard drive can be easily detached from the QuickDeck with the help of an ejection lever attached with the SATA port. External connection occurs over the fast USB3.0 port.

Sharkoon Announces New WPM Series Budget PSUs

Sharkoon introduces two new Power Supply series to the market for PC users and gamers who are looking for products from the provider in a particular price-performance range.

The WPM series with modular cable system arrives to the market in the three performance classes of 400, 500 and 600 Watts. The models comply with ATX specifications ATX 12V V2.0 and provide an efficiency of over 80 percent. Firmly attached to the power supply are a 20+4 Pin mainboard connector, a 4+4 Pin CPU connector and a 6+2 Pin PCIe connector. The enclosed plug-in cable set consists of a 6-Pin PCI cable, a cable with connections for five optical drives plus Floppy as well as two cables with three SATA connections each.

Sharkoon presents the successor to their local network, insertable hard drive docking station with the SATA QuickPort Pro LAN: The Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Pro LAN Giga replaces the existing Fast Ethernet interface with a significantly faster Gigabit Ethernet interface. Through its LAN Port, associated hard drives and other medians can be integrated into a local home or office network.

In addition to the LAN Port and plug-in for SATA hard drives in 2.5 and 3.5 inch format, the Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Pro LAN Giga provides an integrated dual USB2.0 hub and a card reader for SD, SDHC, MMC and MS cards. The USB hub and card reader are connected via USB to a computer or laptop, with hard drives also being connected alternatively via the eSATA interface.

Sharkoon Announces Vaya Value Edition with USB 3.0 and Side Window

In July, Sharkoon presented a competitive priced ATX case with the introduction of the 25 euro Sharkoon Vaya model. Now a Value Edition with a USB3.0 interface and side window is provided.

The Value Edition replaces one of the two USB2.0 ports on the standard design with a SuperSpeed USB3.0 interface. In lieu of the side air intake with pre-drilled air holes, the Value Edition offers a large acrylic side window, allowing insight into the PC while the internal illumination is benefiting operation. Sharkoon offers the Value Edition in two color versions: a black case with red LED front fan, and a white case with blue LED front fan.

Sharkoon Intros Two New Micro-ATX Gaming Cases Supporting Long Graphics Cards

Sharkoon introduces two micro-ATX cases, which despite its compact form factor, can contain graphic cards up to 36 cm in length: The Sharkoon MS120 mATX and the Sharkoon 140 mATX are especially aimed at gamers who are looking for a handy companion at LAN parties and at the same time not wanting to miss out on extra-long graphics power.

The two black finished cases differ in their front fan configurations: The MS120 is equipped with two blue illuminating 120 mm front fans behind a mesh insert. The MS140 instead features a blue illuminating 140 mm front fan. The MS120 is a little taller at 375 mm than the MS140 at 368 mm.

Sharkoon Announces Tarea Mid-Tower Case

Sharkoon is expanding their collection of PC cases: The Sharkoon Tarea comes with nine 5.25" bays and a straightforward, simple mesh front design as a follow-up to the successful Sharkoon Rebel9 Economy.

The ATX case, to include the interior, maintains a completely black lacquer finish. The front presents itself with nine different mesh faceplates, while mesh inserts in the rounded, vertical frame edges complete the design. The nine 5.25 inch bays and seven card slots offer more than enough room for hard drives, optical drives, function panels and expansion cards of your choice.

Sharkoon is expanding the USB3.0 collection to their "QuickPort" Hard Drive adapter family: The Sharkoon SATA QuickPort H3 USB3.0 offers the traditional plug-in slot for SATA Hard Drives and is directly connected to you computer via the USB3.0 port. With the latest model three USB3.0 Hub ports are integrated into the front side, over the already external SuperSpeed device, for example USB3.0 sticks, which can be directly connected with the system.

The plug-in slot for SATA hard drives in 2.5 and 3.5 inch format contains, similar to other QuickPort models, a hard drive ejection button and LEDs indicating both power supply and hard drive activity. On the backside of the device you will find a separate power button. The Sharkoon SATA QuickPort H3 USB3.0 measures 133 x 71 x 95 mm (W x H x L) and weighs 520 grams. Sharkoon Intros Vaya ATX Mid-Tower Value Case

Sharkoon rolled out Vaya, a value ATX mid-tower case priced at just around $35. Made entirely of SECC steel and ABS plastic, Vaya provides all the essentials to house today's hardware, including tool-free drive-bays and expansion slot covers, a motherboard tray with holes at the right places to help cable-management, a hole behind the CPU socket area to help handling coolers with backplates, and a pair of holes for water-cooling tubes.

Accessory specialist Sharkoon presents an internal USB3.0 hub, which provides easy access to four identical SuperSpeed ports on the front of the PC. The Sharkoon 4-Port USB3.0 Hub, with black front panel, is a separate 3.5" or 5.25" drive bay with the provided 5.25" mounting frame already pre-assembled.

It is connected to an external USB3.0 port on the main board on the PC's backside. For orderly feed through a 120cm long USB3.0 cable is enclosed with a pre-installed backplate. Sharkoon Introduces New T-Series PC Cases

Apart from more common 9.5 mm thick HDDs/SSDs, the enclosure also has room for 12.5 mm thick drives (the 10 mm thick WD VelociRaptor should fit). Measuring 134 x 82 x 18.5 mm (L x W x H), it weighs around 80 g (minus drive). Installation is completely tool-free. A one-touch backup feature works with the bundled backup software. The USB 2.0 variant is priced at around 10 EUR, while the USB 3.0 variant is around 17 EUR.
