Thermaltake today announced an initiative with AMD to redesign the revolutionary Xpressar micro refrigeration cooling system for use with ATI Radeon HD 4000 series graphics cards. First introduced in a specialized case designed to achieve CPU temperatures much lower than standard liquid cooling systems, the Xpressar technology will be modified for use as a graphics cooling solution. When commercially available, the Xpressar graphics solution could reduce graphics processor temperatures by as much as 20°C when compared to common liquid cooling products.

The Thermaltake Xpressar micro refrigeration cooling system utilizes a miniature version of the compressor cooling module commonly used in refrigerators and air conditioners. To streamline installation, the graphics cooling module will utilize a compact design, occupying only the drive bay area in the computer.

With the official announcement from Intel on the new Intel Core i7 processors that close, and with some manufacturers already claiming to have compatibility solutions for their cooling products, Thermaltake is also taking responsibility for its air and water coolers by enhancing them with LGA 1366 mounting kits too. Thermaltake has dropped a few lines on its home page, announcing its newest mid-tower case with an engine nomenclature. Measuring 462 (H) x 208 (W) x 485 (D) mm, the V9 Black Edition (sounds like an AMG with a supercharger) weights in 6.76kg, has a mesh design and what's more, comes with all-black powder coating including the interior. V9 Black Edition includes two 230mm (800rpm, 15dBA) fans on the side panel and on the top pushing the hot air out from the top. There are two more 120mm (1300rpm, 17dBA) turbo fans placed in front and out the back of the case, front fan also glows in red and can be replaced with a 140mm one. Back in March 2008, Thermaltake introduced its first phase change cooling prototype. At the time, we were able to reveal only a few pictures, without knowing what was to come. Today Thermaltake said that after four years of research, the company's first DC inverter type micro refrigeration cooling system is finally ready to hit the market. The so-called Thermaltake XPRESSAR utilizes cyclic refrigeration method based on the vapor-compression refrigeration, to take away the heat produced by processors. Vapor-compression refrigeration systems use a circulating liquid refrigerant as cooling medium which absorbs and removes heat from the space to be cooled and subsequently reject that heat elsewhere. All such systems have four components: a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve, and an evaporator. For now the XPRESSAR phase-change cooling will be paired with a Xaser VI case and sold as XPRESSAR RCS100. The total weight of both parts will equal to 22.2kg. Thermaltake ensures that such a system will result in 20ºC better temps than most liquid-based systems, and also be compatible with all Intel LGA775 and LGA1366 (Nehalem) processors (maybe an AMD kit will be released sometime later). Thermaltake released yesterday the V9 chassis, a new brand that stays behind the company's latest generation of gaming cases. Although it reminds of the famous Antec 900 a lot, the V9 has its unique black look and cool features. Airflow is the main strenght of V9, the case ships with a built-in 23cm top mounted fan, and a 120mm exhaust TurboFan (1300rpm,17dBA). With little extra skills you can also mount one 120mm or 140mm intake fan and one 70mm optional motherboard tray fan. Other design features of V9 include a bottom mounted PSU, pre-drilled holes for water cooling, tool-free design and place for a total of 11 drive bays: 4x5.25", 2x3.5", 5x3.5" hidden. Thermaltake sells the case in two variants: V9 - VJ40001W2Z with a transperant side panel and V9 - VJ40001N2Z with pred-rilled side panel holes for two extra 120/140mm fans. Thermaltake today also updated its line-up of power supply units to include the new Toughpower QFan 750W and 850W models. The QFan PSUs are named upon the big 14cm silent QFan with unique blades and the 360° open frame design featured on the power supplies. The QFan helps well in reducing the overall noise output and accelerating greater internal air flow at the same time. Both new high wattage PSUs are 80Plus compliant, offer a powerful single +12V 60A rail and meet the latest requirements for powering up to four graphics cards. Thermaltake uploaded today a video on YouTube showcasing its upcoming BigTyp14 Pro CPU cooler, which is due out next month. The cooler, successor to the popular BigTyp 120VX, features six copper heatpipes and 69 aluminium fins on each side as cooling surface. There's also a top mounted VR controlled blue LED 140mm fan with a low noise output of 16dBA. BigTyp14 Pro uses a universal clip that supports most of current sockets.
