Jonsbo Intros TK-3 Pillarless Front-left Corner Case

We've seen several new mid-tower case releases around the concept of a pillarless front-left corner, which allows glass panels along the front- and left panels seamlessly merge, creating a better view of the hardware inside. Jonsbo is among the few case designers that have implemented a more perfect version of this concept—to use a single piece of glass that curves along the corner, to eliminate the edge between what would otherwise be two separate glass panels. The new Jonsbo TK-3, the case behind this concept, comes in two trims—black and white. It features a vertically-partitioned layout. The compartment on the left with the spacious motherboard tray, has no vertical expansion slots, but plenty of room for even the largest ASUS ROG Strix graphics card, as shown below.

The motherboard tray recesses toward the front of the tray, creating room for a liquid-cooling radiator and its fans, such that they don't get in the way of the graphics card. The left compartment (behind the motherboard tray), has plenty of crawlspaces behind the motherboard tray, to route your cables. The PSU bay is oriented sideways, directly behind the upper half of the motherboard tray; and a drive cage with two 3.5-inch bays is located below it. The entire left side-panel is perforated. Besides the side-facing 3x 120 mm vent that holds a 360 mm radiator, there are two additional such sets of 120 mm vents along the bottom- and top panels, making up the case's ventilation system. Front-panel connectivity includes two USB 3.2 type-A ports, and a type-C port, besides a 4-pole headset jack. The case measures 288 mm x 438 mm x 415 mm (WxDxH). The company didn't reveal pricing.

TerraMaster Rolls Out D4-320 4-bay USB DAS

TerraMaster today rolled out the D4-320, a 4-bay USB DAS enclosure. This is essentially a 4-bay sibling of the D2-320 enclosure that the company released in January. The enclosure features four 3.5-inch caddies with SATA 6 Gbps backplanes, and hotplugging capability. These are connected to a SATA AHCI controller, with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 upstream link that has 10 Gbps bandwidth, and support for UASP (USB-attached SCSI). A type-C cable is included with the DAS. The drive cage is cooled by a 120 mm fan that draws air through the caddies, and exhausts from a vent at the back. TerraMaster says that it put a design focus on optimizing this fan, and reducing the noise and vibration of the device with a full-house. It's important to note here, that the DAS has no RAID function, so each of the four disks and their volumes are individually mounted by the host. There are link/activity LEDs for each drive. TerraMaster includes a first-party data backup software. Available now, the TerraMaster D4-320 is priced at $190.

TerraMaster Intros D2-320 2-bay RAID Enclosure with 10 Gbps USB 3.2

TerraMaster today introduced the D2-320 2-bay RAID enclosure. Just to be sure, this isn't a NAS server, but a USB-based RAID enclosure that you can directly connect to your PC, or a NAS server that will recognize it as a USB mass-storage device. The D2-320 is a generational upgrade over the D2-310. While the original D2-310 features a 5 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 1 host interface, the new D2-320 ups the host interface bandwidth to 10 Gbps, using USB 3.2 Gen 2. The maximum volume size has also been increased to 44 TB from the previous 22 TB.

You get two 3.5-inch drive bays with SATA 6 Gbps interfaces, which you can use for HDDs, or SSDs, and access them as JBODs, where the mass-storage device mounts each disk and its separate volumes; or arrays, with the enclosure supporting RAID 0 and RAID 1. File systems supported include NTFS, APFS (MacOS), EXT4, exFAT, and FAT32. You toggle the RAID modes manually on the device, using a flat-head screwdriver. The device draws power from a power brick, and features a USB-C cable (type-A adapter included). A single 80 mm fan keeps the drives cool. Available now, the TerraMaster D2-320 is priced around $150.
