Introduction
Addlink is a fairly young Taiwanese hardware manufacturer founded in 2014. They specialize in all products related to flash storage, like USB sticks, SD memory cards, and SSDs.
Today, we're evaluating the 4 TB version of the Addlink A93 SSD. This model provides ample storage capacity at a competitive price point. Internally, it features the familiar Maxiotech MAP1602 controller, a component commonly found in recent SSD releases. As expected, the NAND flash technology used is the 232-layer 3D TLC manufactured by YMTC, consistent with other SSDs utilizing the MAP1602 controller. Similarly to other designs using that controller, the Addlink A93 SSD in the 4 TB model does not incorporate a DRAM cache chip. What sets the A93 apart from other MAP1602 drives, like the Lexar NM790 or Netac NV7000-T, is the fact that Addlink is including a pretty serious heatsink, which keeps temperatures low and ensures capability with the Sony PlayStation 5.
The Addlink A93 is available in capacities of 1 TB ($65), 2 TB ($105) and 4 TB ($205). Endurance for these models is set to 750 TBW, 1500 TBW and 3000 TBW, respectively. Addlink includes a five-year warranty with the A93 SSD.
