Introduction

Akko Logo

Akko has cemented its place as one of my favorite keyboard brands today. It made a strong presence on TechPowerUp thanks to its various themed keyboards, before going down the more enthusiast keyboard route with its keyboard kits and other DIY parts to the point where I really don't see much reason for the typical end user to pay a lot of money and wait for months on a group buy. Some would argue there are still different form factors and designs you only get in smaller batches but even that gap is closing as we speak. Indeed, soon after my latest Akko product review, the company reached out to mention there were quite a few new products released recently. It took one look at the website to find two products I immediately wanted to check out and today we have the first of these in the form of the Akko ACR Pro Alice Plus.

The Alice keyboard layout became instantly popular after it was first announced as a group buy in 2018—a small 40-unit group buy that meant most people wanted more but had to wait until other vendors decided to make their own version of it. It is an ergonomic keyboard that takes a 60% form factor and splits it into various segments similar to a split keyboard allowing you to better position your hands at a more natural typing angle. In 2023, there are many different takes on the Alice design with Akko's version coming in two different colors of black and white. It also uses a gasket mount and can be purchased as a fully assembled keyboard or a kit should you wish to pair it with your own keycaps and switches. Akko kindly provided a review sample of the former to TechPowerUp so let's take a closer look at the keyboard beginning with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
